I tend to hyperfixate on certain games, and currently I'm playing far too
much neon white (Ranked 118 globally). Don't think a speedrunning game can
lend much to Agora, though.

I've been playing Enter the Gungeon, Your Only Move is Hustle, and Signalis
as well.

Some of my favorite games: Hades, Hollow Knight, Return of the Obra Dinn,
Ultrakill, Overboard!, The Witness, Portal 1&2, Baba is You, Danganronpa,
Stardew Valley

I also like to play chess.

This sounds to me like a very good idea. We would only need to narrow
down what the auto-chess mechanic looks like, and a selection of
cards/components.

I'm not particularly familiar with auto-chess; since it's automated and
there's no spectator, what sort of mechanics wouldn't work out very
well? I imagine placement-based strategy and a majority of the forms of
randomness would be unwelcome?

During a round, you periodically earn income, for example 5 gold, with
Offices and certain Dreams allowing you to gain more. Then, by paying 10
gold, you can choose between one of several packs and get a random
selection of cards to add to your collection. Collections are public, and
cards can be traded, up to X days before the tournament.

A battle between two players would pit their collections and deckbuilding
abilities. Both players submit their decklists to the relevant Officer, or
they could just post a hash, and then those decks battle each other.

I've been thinking of doing a similar survey too, I think this is a good
idea.

I've been playing Polybridge 3 (physics-based bridge builder), Night of the
Full Moon (deckbuilder roguelike) and Balatro (poker deckbuilder roguelike).

It seems like all three of us so far have interest in deckbuilder games.
Perhaps we'd be interested in some kind of deckbuilder autochess? So that
we wouldn't require a lot of back and forwards by having to play individual
turns.

Going to throw out an idea for this:

As a stream of consciousness, here's all the games I've been playing or wanting
to play (sorted according to how well I think they could be scavenged for Agora
games):

Board Games
* Pax Pamir 2E
* War Chest
* Oath
* Ahoy
* John Company 2E
* Eclipse: Second Dawn
* Twilight Imperium 4E

Video Games
* Frostpunk
* Simmiland
* Bad North
* In Other Waters
* Slay the Spire

I will note that at least for some of these I've considered their subsystems
for potential tournaments.
