[Bug 590116] [NEW] Software-center should support www.kachingle.com

2010-06-05 Thread TM8471
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: software-center

Software-center gives good descriptions for open-source software. But
there is no possibility to spend money to an open-source project.
Kachingle offers a very smart spending system for open-source projects,
see http://www.kachingle.com/.

Every Kachingle user has to pay 5 US-Dollar per month, payable by
Paypal. Every website can integrate a kachingle logo on his website.
Every time a kachingle user clicks on the logo, this click is registered
by Kachingle. Of there is only one click per month 100% of the money
goes to the project. If there are 10 projects the money is splitted in
ten equal parts, that is 10%.

Date processing and billing is done by Kachingle. Software-center should
only integrate a Kachingle logo.

This could give huge monetary support to open-source-projects, which
would be good for our open-source ecosystem.

ProblemType: Bug

[Bug 554232] [NEW] It is not possible to run Evolution invisible in the background

2010-04-02 Thread TM8471
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

It is not possible to run Evolution invisible in the background. Compare
with Rhythmbox.

Rhythmbox plays music - then select show Rhythmbox - The Rhythmbox
GUI starts. Click on the upper left button minimize - right click
Rhyhtmbox button on the lower panel - select close - GUI disappears
but music still runs invisible, in the background.

This feature should work in Evolution, too. The Indicator Applet
should show entrance: -number of new emails-, but the Evolution button
should not appear on the lower panel.

With the new Indicator applet it is not necessary anymore that Evolution
is always on the lower panel. New email messages are now indicated by
the new Indicator applet and moreover by the new message system with
fading messages in the upper right.

[Bug 510041] Re: Where is the button Give for GPL software in Software Center?

@ David:

Why just for GPL?

Good question. Every license that is recognized as free by the Free
Software Foundation should be supported, in my opinion. So just exchange
GPL license by every other Free Software license.

[Bug 510041] [NEW] Software Center should have for GPL software a donate button

2010-01-20 Thread TM8471
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: software-center

Software Center is quite neat but one important feature is missing:

Where is the button appreciation award (should be after the Price:
for free-tag). When this button is clicked every user should have the
option to decide this way (example dialog):

You are happy with this piece of GPL software? Give an appreciation
award to the developer team and they will make this application even
better.

Give
- 5 USD if you think this piece of software is quite ok
- 10 USD if you are happy with this piece of software
- 20 USD if you want contribute to make this application even better

You want to be generous? Give more than 20 USD. Decide yourselves:
__
[__] USD

Pay with:

* Credit Card
* Paypal

Remember: Free Software is not only free beer, it is free speech!

Thank you!
_

This feature would support Free Software and would be a huge
contribution for Free Software developers.

[Bug 509513] [NEW] Avidemux does not offer insert freezed image

2010-01-19 Thread TM8471
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: avidemux

I record television broadcasts on my computer. After that I cut these
broadcasts, especially I cut out promotion.

I am missing this feature:

1) I would like to insert a blank three second section (preferably blue
screen) and after that five to ten seconds a scheme that gives this
information.

Here is an example (imagine black, blue or green screen with white or yellow
letters ;-)):

'
Philosophie today
 with Rafael Enthoven

Part 1
- Language and Mind-

Broadcast on Arté
Record day: 19.11.2010
 Length: 00:45:21 h
___

2) Moreover, at the end of a film there should be a five to ten seconds
section with a blank screen before video ends.

I know there are some workarounds to get this. Some propose to create
two graphic files with Gimp (for a blank screen and for a record scheme
each) and then insert them into Avidemux. But doing this is very
complicated and costs very much of time. And I suppose that 95% of
Avidemux' users aren't able to do that. And 4,5% won't do this because
it costs time too much. All in all: This proposed workaround is for most
users useless.

As this intro and outro scheme is a standard in video broadcast this
feature should be part of Avidemux. It would enhance Avidemux' usability
very much.

[Bug 509113] [NEW] Task manager does not offer switch to the desktop

2010-01-18 Thread TM8471
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Ubuntu can switch between running applications by pressing Windows + Tab or
by pressing Alt + Tab.
This feature is very productive if a user prefers using fast working keyboard
combinations.

But this animation/task manager aren't able to switch to the desktop
GUI. This should be added to this two task managers or at least offered
as configuration option in nautilus.

By the way: Is there any other keyboard combination that makes the GUI
switch to the Gnome desktop?

@ Pedro Villaviecenio:

Brasero only offers:
1) Burning an Audio-CD (not Audio-DVD)
2) Burning a Data-DVD (not Audio-DVD)

Audio-DVD is a special format and therefore is not the same as data DVD
(have a look at Wikipedia:http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=DVD-
Audiooldid=333232291). Audio DVD is neither supported in Brasero nor in
Nautilus nor in any other Ubuntu application.

There are some software solutions that do something different, but that is not
Audio DVD:
One application is able to burn a video-DVD. In this DVD the video stream is
only a blue screen. The audio stream contains the music (I suppose as
MP3-stream). This application is called Audio DVD creator (link:
http://www.audio-dvd-creator.com/guide.htm) but - despite its name - it does
not create DVDs in the audio DVD standard. It creates only a special Video DVD
(with a blank video stream).

2010-01-03 Thread TM8471
** Description changed:

 Binary package hint: nautilus

I Nautilus all videos are presented with a video icon. But icon size
 depends on video format.

 There are several video formats
 - 21:9 (cinema format)
 - 16:9 (HD-tv)
 - 4:3 (old tv format)

All these icons have different sizes. That is irritating.

Preview icons should be displayed in 16:9. Format differences should be
framed in black, so that all video icons in Nautilus have all the same
 size.

For better understanding, I uploaded two png-file
- 1) Improved icon preview (my suggestion): Example: 4:3 - 16:9 - 21:9
+ 1) Improved icon preview (my suggestion): Improved video icon: 4:3 - 16:9 -

[Bug 502310] Re: irritating video icon

2010-01-03 Thread TM8471
** Description changed:

 Binary package hint: nautilus

I Nautilus all videos are presented with a video icon. But icon size
 depends on video format.

 There are several video formats
 - 21:9 (cinema format)
 - 16:9 (HD-tv)
 - 4:3 (old tv format)

All these icons have different sizes. That is irritating.

Preview icons should be displayed in 16:9. Format differences should be
framed in black, so that all video icons in Nautilus have all the same
 size.

For better understanding, I uploaded two png-file
- 1) Improved icon preview (my suggestion): Example: 4:3 - 16:9 - 21:9
+ 1) Improved icon preview (my suggestion): Improved video icon: 4:3 - 16:9 -
21:9
 2) Icon preview, as shown in Nautilus now: Video icon as it is now

[Bug 493301] [NEW] No music file export with target storage size

2009-12-06 Thread TM8471
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

I stored my music in high definition (flac-format). Now, it is possible
in rhythmbox to export selected songs (e.g. as defined by a playlist)
and burn them on cd. Sometimes my selected songs need more storage than
700 MB.

Rhythmbox should should be able to offer in this situation these two
options :

Sound files exceed 700 MB (CD size limit).

1) Shall I convert your selected to ogg-format (lossy format) so that all your
selected songs fit on one audio cd? Song quality will be good (approximately at
128 Kbit/s at variable bit rate)!
2) Shall I burn all your selected audio files on several cds (will use three
cds)?

[Bug 493301] Re: No music file export with target storage size

2009-12-06 Thread TM8471
** Description changed:

 Binary package hint: rhythmbox

I stored my music in high definition (flac-format). Now, it is possible
in rhythmbox to export selected songs (e.g. as defined by a playlist)
and burn them as standard audio-CD. Sometimes my selected song files
need more storage than 700 MB and therefore exceed CD storage size.

Rhythmbox should should be able to offer in this situation these four
 options :

- Sound files exceed 700 MB (CD size limit).
+ Sound files exceed 700 MB (CD storage size limit).

- 1) Shall I convert your selection to ogg-format (lossy format) so that all
your selected songs fit on one audio-CD? Song quality will be average
(approximately at 128 Kbit/s at variable bit rate)!
+ 1) Shall I shrink your selected audio files down to 700 MB?

[Bug 484058] [NEW] Ubuntu-Nautilus does not support German digital identification card framework

2009-11-17 Thread TM8471
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

In november 2010 Germany's physical identification card will be enhanced
with digital functionalities. This new Internet ID card is called
Elektronischer Personalausweis (ePA). It will work as digital Internet
ID card with digital adress verification, log-in verification and will
have age verification. Moreover it will contain personal digital
signature.

Siemens IT Solutions and Services works now on implementing the software
framework into a Windows system and it won't be Open Source.

The German Federal Agency for Information technology security (BSI)
defined a software framework called eCard-API-Framework (BSI
TR-03112).

There is no comparable project for Linux systems. This should be
changed, because an Internet based ID card is the killer application for
the next years. Moreover, it is necessary that this IT infrastructure
computer code gets peer review by the public.

[Bug 484058] [NEW] Ubuntu-Nautilus does not support German digital identification card framework

2009-11-17 Thread TM8471
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

In november 2010 Germany's physical identification card will be enhanced
with digital functionalities. This new Internet ID card is called
Elektronischer Personalausweis (ePA). It will work as digital Internet
ID card with digital adress verification, log-in verification and will
have age verification. Moreover it will contain personal digital
signature.

Siemens IT Solutions and Services works now on implementing the software
framework into a Windows system and it won't be Open Source.

The German Federal Agency for Information technology security (BSI)
defined a software framework called eCard-API-Framework (BSI
TR-03112).

There is no comparable project for Linux systems. This should be
changed, because an Internet based ID card is the killer application for
the next years. Moreover, it is necessary that this IT infrastructure
computer code gets peer review by the public.

[Bug 462161] [NEW] Ubuntu PDF printer does not support brochure printing

2009-10-27 Thread tm8471
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cups

Pdf printer in the print dialog (I suppose this is system-config-
printer 1.1.12) does not support brochure printing (what is brochur
printing? Have a look at the picture). That demands a program that
changes page order. If this feature would be integrated into Ubuntu pdf
then print usability would be better.

Or, would it be more suitable to add this feature to evince? This
feature exists now in OpenOffice but OpenOffice cannot handle pdf files.

Besides, is there any free program with a GUI in Synaptic that has this
brochure printing?
