Re: [all-audio] There's finally a microwave you can control with Alexa, and it just got its first discount

2018-08-31 Thread Rick Alfaro
This is definitely a valid point. I had my sighted wife read the code on
the back of the door but I also could have used be my eyes or similar
service to accomplish that. Perhaps even knfb reader might have done the
trick but I took the easy way out.

Also, you do not have to press the start button to start the cooking.
Alexa does that.

Frankly I think that's all a microwave oven is good for anyway is to
reheat something.

Re: [all-audio] Introducing myself and a question about the Olympus DM720

2018-08-31 Thread Curtis Delzer
I don't know which is which since I bought mine about a year ago, but
descriptions of their titles such as "cans," or just "headphones with
microphones" might help. Originally Mine cost about $13 and it is
unbelievable the sound of the microphones. The "andrea super beam cans,"
surround the ear, where the headphones sit kind of on top of the ears
and don't have the isolation necessary for good binaural sound while
listening, but as I said the microphones are the same for both sets.
They have probably updated or changed their lines by now.

Re: [all-audio] VLC 3 keeps saying it crashed

2018-08-31 Thread JM Casey
Maybe try their forum. I haven't experienced this problem, nor has anyone else
I know. Windows 10 1803, with NVDA and JAWS. Programme works really well,
although I was having problems with a long startup time until I installed the
very latest update.

Hello, I downloaded VLC the latest version on my Windows 10 Pro laptop, running
System Access as my screen reader; each time I open any music file to play it,
I get the message Oops, VLC Media Player has crashed; do you want to send a
crash report to the developers? When I hit the Yes button, then the file
starts playing as it should. Any idea what makes VLC act like it's crashed and
how I ccan fix that problem short of getting rid of VLC altogether? Thanks.

Hi,
Try removing it including cache and settings from control panel.
Then reinstall.
