[sw-issues] [Issue 38420] Inserted graphics are scaled -> wrong sizes in HTML export
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=38420 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Feb 5 18:50:41 -0800 2005 --- (Nasser Aboseq, Gustavo Branco 02/05/05 >From our experience with html language we noticed that the html attributes for width and height inside a img tag is not analogous to the images width and height. So we decided to research further into the matter and discovered the following quoted section of the W3C HTML 4 recommendation Section 13.7.1 (Visual presentation of images, objects, and applets). âWhen specified, the width and height attributes tell user agents to override the natural image or object size in favor of these values. When the object is an image, it is scaled. User agents should do their best to scale an object or image to match the width and height specified by the author. Note that lengths expressed as percentages are based on the horizontal or vertical space currently available, not on the natural size of the image, object, or applet. The height and width attributes give user agents an idea of the size of an image or object so that they may reserve space for it and continue rendering the document while waiting for the image data.â >From this point on we decided that this is perhaps not a bug at all since the jpg images that are exported with the html file are exported in the correct width and height. What actually happens is that OpenOffice divides the screen resolution by the imageâs resolution this results in the ratio by which the image is scaled. Not being sure for certain that this is not a bug we decided to use MS Word as an oracle for comparison. After reproducing the procedure we obtained the same result as with Open Office. As with gif file format it is always saved in 96 dpi resolution, (being this same resolution windows defaults to) the ratio is 1 so the image is not scaled. [sw-issues] [Issue 37749] Inserting objects is not working properly for tables
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=37749 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Feb 5 14:24:09 -0800 2005 --- (Nasser Abosaq, Gustavo Branco, 02/04/05) I reproduced the same bug in Open Office 2.0 using Windows XP, SP2. The step of replicating the bug as follows: 1. Create a table of any size (say 2x2) 2. Click on the desired cell 3. Create any chart (insert -> object -> chart) 4. The chart is placed outside the table (on the top of the table) Exceptional case: A chart is inserted into the table successfully if it is an OLE object. The steps are as follow: 1. Create a table of any size 2. Click on the desired cell 3. Create any chart (insert -> object -> OLE object) 4. A dialog box appeared, then select create new, and select "Open Office.org chart" from the given list 4. The chart is placed properly in the selected cell in that table. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [udk-issues] [Issue 41994] after pyunofixes1 is integrated, a patch to implement optionally using the system python

I must admit, I don't have time to try it out, but looks nice to me, I just have 2 remarks: 1) The second patch in the pyuno_util.cxx file: I haven't found PyUnicode_AsUTF8String in the python docs, but I assume, that it creates a new string object. In this case, it must be decrefed afterwards, otherwise this would introduce a leak (as mentioned in dev@udk.openoffice.org). Conversion via utf8 means also one uneeded temporary object, how about using the UCS4 conversion of OUString ? 2) scp-Patches Don't forget to qa python component via Package Manager to ensure, that python can also be loaded within the office successfully with the system python. What about the python-core-2.x.y-zipfile, shouldn't it be left out for system python also ? So please commit the patch to your cws once pyunofixes1 is integrated. [graphics-issues] [Issue 42085] forward/backwards buttons in presentation mode are needed

The slide browser is good to have but not what I was looking for. I confirm that the buttons work on a Mac, but they are inconsistent with the design of the buttons on the window. How is a user to know to use them? I searched the help files and located Page Up/Page Down/home/end in General Shortcut Keys in OpenOffice.org. For Page Up it says "Scroll up one screen", which is NOT the same as moving forward one slide. There are large sliding bars on the display that are (from my viewpoint) not too helpful - they just move the slide out of the optimal view it shows up in. There could be buttons next to them for moving around by slide. So it is a design question: If there are several ways to do something, it is handy to allow all of them. This is a fundamental operation for working with slides. Everything else seems to be controlled by clicking on the screen. I would think this one should be too. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. This is the *contribution* page. It should point to where the work is being done. That's the whole purpose of making this page. No. You send the contributor to the place where the work is being done, and the user to the place where the "stable" version is. I would like to be able to work with this cell info as normal. 1. Go => New => "Spreadsheet" => pick cell => A1 2. => "Insert" => No choice as under "New" =>"Text Document" 3 Now try this - "New" =>"Text Document" => Insert => Fields => Other => File name. 4. This enhancement would be very benefitial under "Spreadsheet" as well. This gives the possiblity to introduce "ID" anywhere on document. It can also be "copied" into other related documents. Please follow me. 1. Open new drawing 2. Draw a rectangle width 3mm by hight 2 mm 3. Introduce width dimension by choosing "main tool bar"" => "lines and arrows" => "dimension lines". 4. Draw the width dimension to correspond with width of rectangle => "3mm" 5. Read width and hight in the status bar on bottom => read 5,54 x 2,55 mm = NOK 6. Press "F4" => "Position and Size" => "Size" => read Width = 5,55 mm = NOK 5. If you want to change the size of the Dimension over the "F4" window an incorrect value occures. 6. The problem is basically the same when a vertical dimension is introduced. Ergo: setting horisontal and vertical dimensions does not work according to normal CAD criterias. Please present a solution.
