To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=42708 Issue #:|42708 Summary:|Java based Turkish spell checker plug-in doesnt work |for OOo 2.0, but works for OOo 1.1.x Component:|sdk Version:|680m65 Platform:|All URL:| OS/Version:|All Status:|NEW Status whiteboard:| Keywords:| Resolution:| Issue type:|DEFECT Priority:|P3 Subcomponent:|usability Assigned to:|jsc Reported by:|mdakin --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Feb 13 23:58:09 -0800 2005 --- We are developing a java based open source Turkish spell checker and Hyphenator for OOo. (Project home page: https://zemberek.dev.java.net/zemberek_ooo/zemberek_ooo.html) It's current version works well with Open Office 1.1.x series. I tried plug-in for Open office 2.0 nightlies, It worked for m62 or m65 but after that it stopped working. I tried to locate the error , it seems that Open Office continuously tries to load the plug-in, it calls the entry method of Spell checker forever. This is the plug-in which works in OOo 1.1.x but does not work in OOo 2.x nightlies. https://zemberek.dev.java.net/files/documents/2681/11430/zemberek-ooo-0.4.zip - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [lingucomponent-issues] [Issue 37297] Writer doesn't hyphenate four letter words
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=37297 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Feb 13 23:56:23 -0800 2005 --- I have discovered why Writer is not able to hyphenate four letter words. Writer has an option (in Language Settings - Writing Aids) to use the German old spelling. Whether selected or not, the minimal number of characters for hyphenation is five and this seems to affect to hyphenation in all other languages. This should be fixed. And I don't think that the minimal number of charachters for old German hyphenation rules should be five, since also should be hyphenated according those rules as al-so. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. This shouldn't really be much of a limitation, since the only thing you can't do afterwards is modifying it. In fact, views are even better than queries in some respect, since you can use views in other queries, much as you can use tables there. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=39959 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Feb 13 13:52:21 -0800 2005 --- Confirmed the behavior outlined below with the Writer file in attachment #22352. When opening up a default blank document in writer the issue does not occur. Steps to duplicate the problem: 1. Start 680m77 Writer 2. Open the template file from attachment #22352 (writer.ott). 3. Open Firefox 1.0 4. In Firefox 1.0, highlight and copy text from: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/01/03/x-ray_pilot_update/ beginning at the phrase "Heathrow x-ray weapons scanner, just say no" and continuing to the end of the article text ending at the phrase "cede security to automated systems." 5. Switch back to Writer and click Paste..Special. 6. Select HTML Format (the first choice). 7. Click CTRL+V to paste. 8. Writer crashes with an error from C++ indicating abnormal program termination. Note: The Writer application also crashes if HTML Format without Comments is selected in step #6, but instead of a C++ error, an OpenOffice.Org dialog box pops up saying that the program terminated unexpectedly. I sent a Crash report in referencing this issue # in the description. Back to 113 and before? Just to to make clear where the problem is: Now it is impossible to have a table, which was made to fit to one printing-page, being protected against lay-out-alternations coming just from typing into cells. But in this case I really think the Excel-behavior might be a good idea. Pls note, that a basically FUNCTIONAL key (the Enter-key) should in no way return a no-action to a hit, that is confusing. The behavior to "walk" through a selected area with is nice. So it is just a problem in the one-and-only case, that one cell only is selected. It should not really be problem to check that the focus has no different cell to move to, so it can unselect area/cell and move to next cells as usual. martin - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. This issue needs another evaluation. It shouldn't be under "graphics" and is DEFINITELY not an "enhancement". This There are a whole slew of people that refuse to use this product because of the lack of this functionality. This is addressed to bm, cloph, joergwartenberg, and mmp. Whos IS it that you report to? Surely everyone reports to someone else and there HAS to be someone that can reevaluate whether this is an "enhancement" or a SERIOUSLY LACKING FEATURE. I would like have you guys/girls reevaluate as to whether this is an enhancement or not. Maybe we need to educate you guys/girls on what is lacking as maybe you are unaware as to how important these features are to ANYONE that has to ANY statistical analysis. Children in High School are exposed to this using Excel and almost every college student in ANY scientific field uses these features REGULARLY. For some, maybe spreadsheets are a way to tabulate data and run simple equations but for the scientific community it is used for this and MUCH more when we need to evaluate the data statistically. If these features cannot or WILL NOT be added then you are FORCING us to continue to use Excel. Who's attention do we have to get to have them take this more seriously? To everyone else that finds this a problem then use your VOTES to escalate this issue. I for one agree that the "pretty" features and the database issues are moot compared to this feature. I ask myself the following question all the time, "who doesn't use the statistical features of a spreadsheet?" For this reason alone I find it completely incomprehensible that these features are STILL not there. This product will remain second-rate until these features are included. So either you are not getting it or we aren't doing a better job explaining what the problem is. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. From the provided screenshot the fonts on the Writer menu looked rather large, so I tried changing my Windows XP appearance settings to use Large Fonts. When that is done, the shape of the bullet changes to the one shown. My guess is that the change of the font size forces a change in the size of the bullet, which doesn't scale perfectly. Hope this helps. Ed Z Windows XP Pro SP2 Build 680m77 - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. It is *extremely* slow but does not crash. Windows XP Pro SP2, hotfixes to 2/05 Build 680m77 Java JRE 1.4.2_06 Steps followed: 1. Opened the attachment by double-clicking, which opened it in Writer. 2. Used CTRL-A to select all 3. Clicked File..New..Drawing.. 4. Used CTRL-V to paste image. 5. Clicked File..Export.. 6. Left the default export format as XHTML. 7. The export took approximately 7 minutes to complete. Considering that the final XHTML file was only 6KB this seems excessively slow. The CPU was pegged at 100% utilization by soffice.bin while the export was going. Also, I doubt that it saved correctly. Is export of a drawing to XHTML format supported?
