I have a problem with OpenOffice 1.9.100 (2 version beta). I write a document with OpenOffice Write with the previous stable version of OpenOffice and I have no problems. Now I have opened this document with the beta version and saved it as *.odt. I work on this document many times but the latest time many formula contained in the document disappeare, or better they have been substituted with a carachter present in one formula (it is a dotted V). Moreover this dotted V is deformed and not in the original size. If I open the tool for formula wirting I see the dotted V and not the original test. The document contains many formula and many of them have been replaced with the dotted V or displaced from the original point. If it could help you in fixing this bug I can send you the document. This allows for creating virtual machines on the same phisical server that would run independently on different IP's. This is so that we can run say Apache/PHP/MySQL on one virtual machine and on another one say for example a Zope/Plone setup or other CMS. They would have independent Apache setups and independent processes. If one gets compromised, the other environments remain safe. Also, users access control is tighter by virtual machine. Other idea: Supplementary, such a server/application could be setup to answer to two ways of accessing it. First is services.ooo... type of URL and the secondary, to allow pointing a domain name to the same machine and have the pages served from the services.ooo subdomain. This allows for short names to easier remember but in the same time will display everything from services.ooo domain. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. As for the FreeBSD, remember we have *hired* a server. We don't own it as a machine so we're not free to install whatever OS we want. Nonetheless we are looking forward to have some virtualization capabilities. As for the CMS, we don't want to host a web site like OOoAuthors. It will be a server used for localization of OOo, through two tools, Pootle and Marani. Because of this one mailing list will be enough. Localization discussions and related work shall stay on http://l10n.openoffice.org and the NLC. For the domain name: We have set up an aliased DNS system allowing access from services.ooo or http://dev.arsaperta.org or even bozo.openoffice.fr if we want. A demand of cost effective, rich featured, highly reliable server side application has been increasing. The well improved office suite, SO 8, SS 8 and OOo 2.0, can be the best one in the world. Environment: Internet Explorer -- Internet Information Services (IIS) -- Server Side VBScript --- CreateObject() -- COM -- soffice.exe Similarly, Firefox -- Apache -- Tomcat -- JRE -- UNO or URE. Problems: Case 1: Time out occurs as soffice.exe starts at the first time right after installation. IIS runs soffice.exe as a different user from one who has installed it. i.e. IWAM_machinename or IUSR_machinename. Therefore, soffice would need to wait for a user action accepting a software license agreement. Case 2: Time out happens when soffice.exe attempts to start a recovery process that currently needs a user interruption. In the both cases, soffice.exe would never return because nobody can see a dialog window or take actions unless the special user IWAM_machinename logs on to the Windows server machine. Consequently, an end user who made a request would face the following error message on her/his web browser. Error message that appears on the Internet Explorer: HTTP 500.100 - Internal Server Error - ASP error Internet Information Services Technical Information (for support personnel) * Error Type: Active Server Pages, ASP 0113 (0x80004005) The maximum amount of time for a script to execute was exceeded. All OO2 icons seems to me as they are from ancient time when apps were using 16 color or something like that. This started a discussion and it was suggested that OOo should include these words in its diction along with other open sourse related words. I have opened this issue so that that process might begin. Either they can be added to the standard dictionary, or it was suggested that there should be started an OSS dictionary that all programs could use. The reason for filing an issue about this is that people can add to the list by commenting on the issue. I don't really know what to do with the list, but if we start making one then something can be done eventually, with no list, we can't do anything. I would like to be able to assign a keyboard shortcut to 'Decrease Font'. There is one for 'Increase Font' (Tools Customize... Keyboard Category=Format Function=Increase Font), so even with symmetry, there should be one to go the other way. In general, these functionalities would be very useful for any power user, typing up any kind of paper. A workaround that i've found is to assign a shortcut to 'Size Font', but this requires a few 'Tabs' and then typing in the font size followed by an enter. When I add a record to the Bibliography database (Tools Bibliography Database) then close it, and afterward insert a reference to in in my document, there is no spacing or commas between the fields. I add by first adding a bibliography table/index item. Then I insert a bibliographical entry into the document. Then i update the table so that the entry shows up. You can see i the attached screenshot (look at the second entry) to see that all of the fields are meshed together into a single, unspaced string (except for my name). I have found that if i create the entry differently by entering values directly into the 'spreadsheet' part of the bibliography database entry instead of using the form directly below, and include deliberate spaces, that this sometimes puts the spaces into the final results that appears in the document. You can see that in the screenshot under the Bibliography section, first item. You can see that '1976' is spaced. This space had to be forced using the method mentioned above. Majorly is a slang word, according to the dictionary.com reference given below. Even if slang words are some times included in the standard dictionary, this seems a very low-priority issue--a P5 at the very worst. And like many other words that one or another user may use but that are not in the default dictionaries, there is an easy (and purpose-built) workaround: The Add to Dictionary feature. ;-) I'd vote to close this issue. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I have added bibliographical entries to my Tools Bibliography database. 2. I have later inserted a Bibliography section (Insert Indexes and tables indexes and tables Type=Bibliography). 3. Then I added into my document entries that come from that table. When I update the table, all of the entries from the entrie document show up in the Bibliography table. All good for now. (well, not really, but I've submitted other bugs for other stuff) So now, if i decide that something about some entry is incorrect and I go into the Database via (1.), if i change the entries of interest, either by modifying fields or adding some new ones, and then try to get it to update within the document, i get no response. It seems to me that if I right click on the database, the click 'update index/table', these new changes should update in bibliography section of the document. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. As described in step 8 below, the graphic is suddenly not visible. The HTML is not harmed, however, and it still points to the correct image file. If one does FileReload at this point, the picture becomes visible again and all is well. But that is not necessarily a great workaround, to ask users to constantly Reload ! Moreover, if one makes changes in the Web Layout and then saves, the underlying HTML is then greatly broken. Instead of a correct image location, some sort of temporary cache location is inserted. In my case this value is: IMG SRC=../Local%20Settings/Temp/svjde.tmp/vmason.gif ... I suspect that this problem is related to several other issues that cite image loss with HTML editing. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Some of us have our own quirky idea of where to put things. For instance, I would rather continue the pattern used by 1.4 of putting the user's file in ~/.openoffice.org/version/... . The user files should be locatable with the GUI for the initial program run; although a default set by the site-admin would be good. A simple prompt for the base install directory would do the trick for the program location. I expect the default user location would require editing some script or template. This issue requests you publish the information which would allow that to be done. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I checked Tools-Options-Keyboard and the settings are correct. So I don't know if there is a problem with the choice of keys - shouldn't work for superscript then or if somewhere there is a mapping problem? I didn't modify any settings so teh default doesn't work. Cheers, Mark - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. It appears to be related to the column spanning (aka cell merging) function. js181096's table uses a span on the bottom column. In order to eliminate the chance of some historical data corruption from an eariler OOo rev, I created a new, but similar table from scratch in 1.9m104. No joy. If there are 5 spanned columns, OOo seems to want to insert 6 new columns rather than the 1 requested. The placement of those columns in relationship to the span, combined with the fact that I get no such error unless spanning is involved, suggest the insert function is not adequately handling the span situation. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
