I think this enhancement must be treated with more respect. Redesigning it to be
included as an additional style would simplify the interface and make the
application more usable.

Hi Ian,

As you can see this issue is set to Enhancement which basically means that it
involves an improvement to the current situation. I know that two functions
sharing the same accelerator key isn't considered to be a bug. But we (Dutch
community) consider this as the non-preferred way of having accelerator keys.
This issue states the solution to having one accelerator key for each function.
The same goes for the issues I mentioned in my earlier post.
So please re-open this issue and fix it.

The document attached has a font (Nimbus Sans L Condensed) that is no longer
exported correctly in m156_9004.
It was exported correctly in 2.0.1.
I thought it was somehow related to issue 58366, but the document presented
there is exported correctly.
The second attached document is the resulting PDF.

If an accelerator character is duplicated in a menu, three keypresses instead of
one are required to access the menu, which is unnecessarily inefficient for
users who prefer (or need) to navigate the menus using the keyboard.

So, please reopen. Thanks!

I am a little bit uneasy with this issue because it handles two clearly
distinct issues under the same heading:

(1) OOo should support OpenType features like ligatures, diacritics, small
caps etc. This would be an ENHANCEMENT to OpenOffice.org, and a very nice
indeed.

(2) OOo doesn't recognize OpenType fonts with PS outlines under linux. This is
clearly a BUG (as other applications as e.g. KOffice can handle these fonts),
and a very annoying one as more and more fonts are published in this format.

I propose to split this issue in two distinct issues and that the secon issue
(failure to render otf-fonts) is declared as BUG.

Indeed, I think the possibility to navigate with two the same accelerator key's

 (1) OOo should support OpenType features like ligatures, diacritics, small

I have to disagree on that one. For many African languages diacritics placement
(or ligature substitution) is not just an enhancment but a REQUIREMENT.

For example: Malagasy uses n with diaresis : n̈ U+006E,U+308 N̈
U+004E,U+308 ;
in Lingala the open e ɛ and the open o ɔ are used with diacritics : ɛ́
U+025B,U+301 Ɛ́ U+0190,U+301, etc. Without these OpenType features it is
impossible to correctly render those character combinations, the diacritics
should go on top of the capital letters not over them. Diacritics placement or
ligature substitution could fix this.

Imarobles, now I can see what do you meant, but seems PowerPoint do not have
this feature, right?

so when OOo saves the file as .ppt the 'Contour' style will be lost.

note that if you save the file as OOo Presentation (.odp) the 'Contour' style
will be preserved.

I can't see what PowerPoint can do about this right now. I will check this
later.

Sorting Scandinavian/Finnish alphabets is still not working.
Together with the inability to drag rows up/down it makes the use of any
alphabetical lists (telephone directories etc) impossible to use.
Must we go back to Excel?

I've attached my proposal to this problem (only for writer for now). Since this
is my first patch, I don't know that much about hacking OOo. So while the code
does what I want (using \n in replace string inserts the content of the nth
bracket), it might not please everyone.
And at some places I'm not even sure how to handle the one or another situation
(How should '\x' in the replace string be treated? since it hasn't any special
meaning. Or how should '\4' in the replace string be handled if there's no
capture group 4?).

Besides adding the ability to use \1, \2 a.s.o. in the replace string, I also
removed the special meaning of (in text replace, not in attribute or format
replace) since this is non standard and unexpected (although documented
behaviour). Instead \0 now does the same trick and is more straightforward.
Also something like '\\\t' now works as I'd expect: '\'0x09. Formerly it
resulted in the string '\\t'.

I didn't try implementing \s as placeholder for whitespace. This would have
required hacking the regex lib (OOo uses a modified version of the GNU regular
expression library 0.12 which also misses some advanced features like non greedy
quantifiers) quite deep. IMHO this should be better some other bug.

[api-issues] Forum Response

Forum Response for Thread#: 6275

Forum: Diet-talk

Hey, hope I have the right person.

I saw your post on the diet-talk forum and decided I should email you. For the
past 2 years I was fighting with my weight, not physically (lol) but mentally.
Well I tried everything, just like you said; nothing works, even exercising 2
hours a day wasn't doing it. My friend told me to try Hoodia and I laughed.
Anyway, he actually brought it for me and amazingly it started to work. I
thought it might be bad for me but after doing some research I realized it was
totally natural.

He got it from this site:
http://kd-hood.com

I have seen it in some health stores too, but I have just been ordering it
though the above site, and takes about 2-3 days to show up.

Hope this helped.

Talk to you later on the forum.

Iwtpoo, can't reproduce your problem, but maybe because I could't fully
undestand it.
I opened 15 writer documents and made, in each one, a find/replace operation
and, then, close it.
After every closing the next documento comes as active window.

Can you, please, give me step by step instructions? Maybe my sequence is
different.

Thank you.

And what is more, LPPL is incompatible with LGPL:
 http://www.fsf.org/licensing/licenses/

Bullshit. (Sorry for the words).
1st of all, the licenses choose to release the work on a different license thatn
LPPL, according to the LPPL (i.e. must meet documentation requirement and don't
claim to be original work/don't act as direct replacement for original work)

2nd that page compares compatibility with *GPL*, not *L*GPL.

Please don't confuse this.

You don't need to generate a new wordlist and hyphenate that and generate a new
one. You just take the LPPL one, modify it and release that modification under
LGPL, with the required documentation stressed above.

Again:
Compatibility with GPL is useless comparison as OOo is LGPL
Having a look whether you can integrate LPPL licensened stuff is futile as well,
since you make that LPPL stuff LGPL.

The only thing to consider is:
What do you have to document to be able to release the modification of the LPPL
stuff under LGPL.

Having the de-pattern is is perfectly OK, since it is LGPL (= modified work
released under a different License according to point 10a of LPPL)
What was missing was the documentation required for this change to be allowed
by LPPL, namely the points 6b 6d of LPPL.
The documentation is now available, thus fixed for de.

So yes, please keep this issue for de_DE only, but mark it fixed again. I'll
change the summary.

Hi!
What about to extend the available information on the Support help page? In my
opinion we should add more support point on help page pointing to the Native
Language support pages. We might provide more information about:
* NL support page
* Documentation
* Mailling lists
* Downloads
Hence I attach a patch to modify the original support page. I am not familiar
with helppages so I do not know the correct number of id=par_id999 (I
started to count down from maximal value)...
Thanks,
KAMI

This functions as designed. Changing to enhancement, P4, and setting to UI
component, as this sounds like an interface issue.

even better if arrow keys work as well as pageup/pagedown. i.e. arrowleft or

Split off from issue #57353. The following patch implements a new collator class
for Hungarian. Collation rules for Hungarian language are incomplete in ICU 2.6.
In ICU 3.4 everything is OK in this regard.

In Hungarian there are letters which consist of two (or three) characters. For
example Cs, Ny etc. are single letters. We would like to put words beginning
with these letter under a separate alphabetical entry. Example:
let's have 3 words - cirmos, csengős, cudar.
Now we get:
B
.
.
C
cirmos
csengős
cudar
D
.
.

We would like:

C
cirmos
cudar
Cs
csengős

This is the list of these letters:
cs, dz, dzs, gy, ly, ny, sz, ty, zs

I think it is the best to close this issue, because in fact three issues were
discussed here. I split off this issue into three.
1. Wrong sorting in alphabetical index in Writer (this was the original issue)
- issue #61937
2. New collator class for hu (patch provided) - issue #61935
3. Request for enhancement to support Hungarian letters which consist of
multiple characters in Writer index - issue #61938

Thank you,
Andras

I use German OOo2.0.1 on German WinXP Home.

There are three tables in the attached document. The first one has some simple
data.
The second table, the green one, contains in column A references like “=A2” and
in column B the RANK-Function like “=RANG(B2;Liste), where “Liste” is a named
range of the data in Column B of the first table.
The third table, the yellow one, contains the same as the green table but the
references contain also the name of the sheet. So you have “Tabelle1.A2” and
“=RANG(Tabelle1.B2;Liste)”.

Now mark the green table.
Use Data - Sort...
Notice that it not possible to sort the rows of the table, neither with
criterion in column A nor with criterion in column B.

Now do the same with the yellow table. It will sort fine.

Expected behavior: Sorting is also possible, if you use the short form of the
references.

In current milestones (e.g. SRC680_m155) there are other issues with Hungarian
collation which addressed by the patch of issue #61935. Therefore I make this
issue depend on issue #61935. The patch provided there does not solve this issue
completely, letters Ö, Ü, Ő and Ű still come after Z, while other problems get
fixed.

Yes, this defect is reported following a thread I started in the forums.
Really, the algorithm for automatic hyphenation should never allow words to be
split between pages - that's a capital offense in typographic law.

Moreover, the last word of a paragraph should not be split either. Ex-
ample. --- YUCK.

Especially for cygwin it is said that fork/exec is rather slow, but the use
of {posix_,}spawn might be also a win for other systems.

The following patch adds a new configure option: --enable-spawn (disabled by
default) and the correspondend code to dmake to use spawn.

The patch seems to be a small win for W32-tcsh, my build time went down from
8h41m to 8h15m, a ~5% speed win.

I verified that the patch also works for dmake on linux using the dmake
testsuite.

I have been using OpenOffice for several months with no problems. It was
installed on a custom-built computer for me. I downloaded 2.0.1--and it worked
fine for a few months. In the last couple weeks, it has ceased saving
documents into .rtf or .doc format as needed. (I use the Save As command,
etc., as always before.) When I attempt to save into these formats, it brings
up the potential problem with formats in this file type error message--which
it always did. I click on yes to save to that format anyway. But now
instead of saving to .rtf or .doc, it just creates a thing called File with
no format suffix at all. Then OpenOffice won't even open this File.

Relative hyperlinks in writer (possibly also in other apps, did not test) are
butchered on document load or import. Tested with OO.o-dev 2.0 (680_m156) on
Linux.

Reproduce:

1 - create a new document in writer. I call it '/tmp/Test.odt'
2 - in this document, create a hyperlink to 'Test2.odt'.
(As already known and reported elsewhere the hyperlink dialog is not very
helpful here as it tries to auto-correct the link target to an existing file.
Correct the dialog's autocorrection so the link actually points to
'Test2.odt'...)
3 - hover mouse over the link. The tooltip says 'Test2.odt'.
4 - save the document as '/tmp/Test.odt'
5 - copy '/tmp/Test.odt' to '/tmp/Test2.odt' to make sure the link target exists
6 - reload the document (File-Reload)
7 - hover mouse over link. The tooltip now says 'file:///tmp/Test.odt/Test2.odt'
8 - select the link and open the hyperlink dialog (Insert-Hyperlink). The link
now points to 'file:///tmp/Test.odt/Test2.odt'
9 - activate the link by clicking on it. OO.o asks whether you really want to
open '/tmp/Test.odt/Test2.odt'. Say 'Yes'. Watch the error dialog telling you
that it could not open this non-existing file.
10 - unzip '/tmp/Test.odt' and study the content.xml file. It contains the
correct relative link:

text:p text:style-name=StandardLink to text:a xlink:type=simple
xlink:href=Test2.odtTest2.odt/text:a/text:p

The main problem here is that when OO.o reads or imports a file with relative
links it adds the name of the referring document as a parent path to the link.
It should not do that... This problem also occurs when importing eg. Microsoft
Word files with relative links. It also shows when exporting to PDF or html
(have not tried other export options).

According to the discussion here
http://www.phys.uu.nl/~vgent/islam/islamyear_en.htm 16 is most commonly used
while 15 is used by Microsoft. The link provides a calculator that offers 8
different conversions for any given date. So I suppose my transmission of the
request from CasY could have said the reporter requires or prefers 15, not
that 16 wrong. Hope that helps, I only wanted to pass on the from IRC.

Hi, please have a look at the following URLs.
http://qa.openoffice.org/servlets/ProjectIssues
http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/project_issues.html
http://qa.openoffice.org/issue_handling/pre_submission.html
One of the most important guidelines we have is to describe one problem per
issue. So let's focus on bug submission in this issue and use separate issues
for other problems.

A suggestion about the text and link you would like to see in the contribution
pages would be appreciated by the QA project. You could also propose the change
to the dev@qa.openoffice.org list.
Thanks for raising the problem.
