I tried using the select arrow from the draw toolbar, Ctrl, Shift, nothing works. There is a way to work around this and that's to open the images in Draw where you can select multiple images, and then copy-past them in Writer, but that's rather unconvenient at best. In the attached writer document deleting the yellow highlighted text on the first page causes the document page count to change and writer hangs during repagination. It is probable that this issue is the same or related to issue 54640. I've had this same problem at least 10-15 times previously with other documents but always with documents of this type involving tables and footnotes. I suspect it has something to do with a layout loop caused by the footnotes as I've never experienced the problem with tables only. And of course it results in the loss of any work done prior to writer hanging. The attached file is what remains of a 53 page document which I stripped out all index references, bookmarks, hyperlinks, footnotes, cross references, and unnecessary text and the problem persists as long as I did not change the existing layout of the remaining part of this document. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [framework-issues] [Issue 63156] ask user to cancel sessio n shutdown on unix
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=63156 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Mar 15 22:15:19 -0800 2006 --- Hi Radek, you wrote: "... but reuses the code which is already used at OOo exit ...". And that's not possible. You have to call _saveAutoRecovery() everytime. So showing an UI must be done explicitly by using a messagebox instead of calling GetApp()->QueryExit() and depending on the result of this messagebox you have to call _saveAutoRecovery() or to supress these call. "... That way the cancelShutdown call will only be valid/effective at the time the interactionDone can be called ..." Are you realy sure that canceling a shutdown request can be made only in case the interaction was allowed by the session manager ? I'm not so familar with the SMLib protocol. But after reading some parts .-) of the linked PDF I have the following understanding how it must work: Because only one process can interact with the user at the same time the session manager must know if there is a need for an interaction (the listener must request it) and who makes currently an interaction. So a listener can be called within a method "interaction granted" and must callback "interaction done". But this is not related to the cancel state. Even a listener which doesnt use interaction can cancel a sutdown. Is this right ? Of course the SMLib makes it easy for the listener - he can provide the cancel state directly to the interactionDone() call. But that's only a sugar-API .-) Please note: such UNO-XSession-API was not designed for UNIX session management only. Might by the developer who designed it thought it would be usefull to make it more generic and so it can be used later for windows or mac also .-) This API isnt bound to the SMLib behaviour only. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. But i think that in many letters it is more usefull to have an absolut path to embedded pictures. When i opened this issue i wrote : 'the picture may be a part of many other pictures in a specific directory an a server'. The picture could be a company-logo, which is embedded in every letter of the company to enshure corparate design and to save space on disk. I write letters and save and writeprotect them on disk. Many times i create new subfolders and reorganize the folder-structure. I don't want to open and save every letter again when later i move letters from one folder to another. If there is today no other way to get a picture embedded with an absolut path in an OOo-writer-file it is nessesary in the future to have the option in the dialog-box 'Insert picture' to choose between a relative and an absolut link to the embedded picture. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I've noticed some enhancements but also what seems to be bugs. Please have a go at the text document I send in attachment. It contains three test cases. Case 1 and 2 present definitely strange behavior, much different from what used to be true in OOo 1.5. Case 3 is a slight adaptation of Case 1 that runs fine, just for constrast. Some comments: Case 1: the last sentence of the selection appears twice in the enumeration. I have another very similar test case in which some three different fragments of the last sentence are enumerated before the table. Case 2: Foo1 is included in the enumeration while it really shouldn't. Case 3: just adds one blank line to Case 1 that makes all the difference. Thanks in advance. While this seems logical, in MS Office, the left and down arrow keys are the equivalent of a mouse click, advancing the slide effects. (i.e. if there is text on a slide that is hidden until the mouse is clicked, using the arrow keys will advance the slide without showing the text.) This breaks compatibility with wireless "clickers", many of which use the equivalent of the left and right arrow buttons. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. This is undesirable in most cases. For example, I often copy words in order to paste them into the web form of an online dictionary. Then I must first remove all the soft hyphens manually (which appear as blanks in my dictionary http://dict.leo.org) before I can submit the word. When I paste the word into Windows Notepad instead, the soft hyphens are converted to dashes, which is equally undesirable. By default, soft hyphens should be removed before storing the text in the clipboard (that's the way MS Word does it, too). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. (and I *mean* it! And not only for this issue :) ). Indeed, the clipboard is a more complex thing than it looks. Please always keep in mind (even if you already know it) that in that matter:: 1) It depends of the OS 2) It depends of the copy format (does the source application deliver the correct info?) 3) It depends of the paste format (does the target application translate the correct info?) 4) It depends of the things you copy/paste (Object, text, layout) 5) It depends of the way you copy/paste (Over the menu? Icons? system shortcuts? X-selection?) So there's a lot to investigate before you can say "It's a bug there or there!". In this case, I am not even sure if the RTF fix should go to the Writer or Calc Pasting from Draw to Writer gives me a correct font and color Calc problem? Also, don't forget to copy in Calc inside AND outside of a cell! I would be willing to send the file but I don't want it posted because it contains some genealogy research I'm doing as well as personal information. But if the file might help in the debugging then I would send it directly to the appropriate investigator. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=63231 Issue #:|63231 Summary:|Wizard ignore Locale Component:|Word processor Version:|OOo 2.0.2 Platform:|PC URL:| OS/Version:|Linux Status:|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard:| Keywords:| Resolution:| Issue type:|DEFECT Priority:|P3 Subcomponent:|code Assigned to:|mru Reported by:|sergiocallegari --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Mar 15 09:32:55 -0800 2006 --- If you have the US-English build of Openoffice, the following happens: 1) The build includes many localized letter templates (e.g. including Italian) for the letter-wizard in the openoffice.org2.0/share/template/wizard/letter/it/ 2) In spite of that when you invoke the letter wizard, the latter ignores the locale setting and always uses the en_US templates. This is a problem if you want to write an Italian letter on an US-English build: it is actually a major problem, since not only the letter produced by the wizard must be translated in some of its elements, but (and this is more serious) it gets the wrong paper format (letter rather than A4). Note that correcting the paper size is more critical than doing some translation, because when you switch paper size, the format has a tendency to misplace a few items. Furthermore: A) Why are the letter templates repeated both in openoffice.org2.0/share/template/wizard/letter/ and in openoffice.org2.0/share/template//wizard/letter while the non-letter wizard templates only exist in openoffice.org2.0/share/template//wizard/ ? B) Why there is no way to add the non-letter Italian (or any other country) wizards to the EN_US build in a similar way to that in which dictionaries can be added? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
