It is definitely a bug. Even when entering the SQL statement directly OO changes it. This feature of OO makes the database part of the suite useless. Use case : I have OOo 1.1.x installed and data sources declared. Fine. I then install any flavour of OOo 2.0.x. It asks me whether to transfer the configuration data, I say yes, it automatically creates the corresponding ODB files (BTW, it would be better at least to ask the user where they would like the files to go, rather than just dumping them in the user's root space or Documents directory). I then install a development version of OOo2 or an upgrade of 2.0.x to 2.0.xx. The wizard goes through the motions and will then create once again a copy of the existing ODB files, appending a numerical reference to the file name. However, if you try to open the previously declared ODB source, it will no longer work from within OOo and will generate an error message, because it has been superseded by the most recently created filed MyDBx.odb, yet the wizard hasn't told the application. In the end, the user gets a pile of ODBs in a directory, most of which don't actually work, and has to go through the files trying to find the one that has been declared to the OOo application.
