MRU->OS: the scrollbar tooltip showing page&chapter should take care of the
font(s) used in a heading, so that characers e.g. from Wingdins font or
something else won't be shown as square characters.

I can see only one underscored character 'G' and the shortcut key is available
only with underscored character. Non-underscored 'O' means previous action 'Open
Existing Presentation'.
I've checked that the display in another language(korean) is also like this .

If you have any opinion, please feel free to re-open this issue.

Attached patch fixes it.

It is important because everyone using --without-gpc 8and therefore using
basegfx' implementation) will run into it and get a build failure because it is
assumed to want libart but there isn't libart headers found (and we do not want
them anyway)

since m178 configure does not have a libart check anymore which causes the
WITH_LIBART variable to be empty and due to the broken check in makefile.mk
it is assumes to want it.

Is it possible to remove the white strip on the right side?

Compare with

I attached the requested files in a tarball. The bug directory shows the result
with the font installed, and the without-GOUDOSI.TTF directory shows the result
when the font GOUDOSI.TTF is removed. Incidentally, GOUDOSI.TTF is the italic
variant of the font.

Hello,
I have gone through this Forum and I am still having the problem that was
reported in Issue # 14895. Apparently, this should have been fixed in the
OpenOffice 2.0 on Linux. I have the OpenOffice 2.0 on Linux and I still have
issues of characters being "filled" up when I do a Flash Export in a PPT
presentation.

I am also attaching the PPT presentation with the "Magma" written 6 times.

Helvetica Bold 22 / 16 / 12 - Ok after conversion
Helvetica 22 / 16 / 12 - FILLED up after conversion

Please do let me know what do i need to do fix this issue

Regards,
Thyaga

great that pl now considers this something "to be considered" after closing a
cuple of previous issues requesting the ability to add custom printers despite
running cups...

PS: Cou can add kprint of other printer by creating a "fax" or "PDF-Konverter" -
you don't have to disable cups using the environment variable.
PPS: You can do n-up printing using File|Page/Print preview (see the OnlineHelp
for more details)

This issue differs from the issue 24362. Please do not confuse.

A main cause of this issue seems to come from an unexpected behavior of the
font name looking-up system. A user specifies Japanese font in the document,
but the system finds a Chinese font, and then the similar phenomenon as the
issue 24362 happens. We might need to look into the looking-up system, not
a rendering system, in order to solve the problem described in this issue.

The issue 24362 sorely points a problem with a font that seems not to have
  vertical substitution glyphs in it.

Thanks.

I don't know the MS-format, but in OOo hyperlinks are a character property and
have an individual style-selection (Format|Character → Hyperlink → Styles for
visited/non-visited link)

So applying a character style to the text doesn't have an impact on the
hyperlink. You have to set the Hyperlink-formatting to use that character style
(and you can use the same style for both visited and unvisited hyperlinks)

If all links are supposed to look the same, an easy workaround is to modify the
character style "internet link" (and visited link) which is used as default
style for hyperlinks

IMHO very unlikely to be implemented at all (unless someone provides a patch)
since this is a very rare usecase - almost nobody else would have a use for
that.
Even if people would like to use that, it is limited to a very small subset of
available languages - only a few actually only modify the suffix of a word to
make-up different forms of a word.

Furthermore this kind of stuff is more suitable to be implemented in an input
method (writing one for e.g. gtk or scim/m17n is not that hard - probably easier
than implementing that in OOo)

No bog in the spellchecker engine, but in the dictionary file.

No wordprocessor bug, no bug in OOo either.

Since the Readme doesn't mention any contact, I reassign this to lingucomponent.
I cc Sophie - maybe she knows how to contact the dictionary maintainers.

Thanks, Peer, for your revision - and for the links to the source!

The reason for your large files are the bitmaps you used.

I took the CD envelope SVG source from the gallery (link in my previous comment)
and replaced the envelope's back with your work.

For the wire gulls I used RGB(180, 190, 210), I hope it will come near to your
original.

The OASIS logo I haven't been able to find as SVG, but I'm not sure if we are
allowed to use it at all (didn't find an answer on the OASIS website).

I reduced the number of ® symbols, as I think (IANAL), that the trademark symbol
of a company is not necessary to be repeated in the description of it's
programs.

Please have a look at my SVG file and optimize it wherever you can.

Bernhard

It is not different font-sizes, but the display in the toolbar just doesn't work
when the selection exceeds a certain size.

It is not an obvious margin, but it has to do with the number of
lines/paragraphs (but that cannot be the only cause).

the limit is reached at around 804 lines in with the attached text, but in a
file I created using the blindtext (replaced every space with a paragraph break)
it is at 1000 paragraphs.
The number of characters and words differ as well - so I cannot tell what really
is the cause - anyway: I can confirm the behaviour, thus setting to new (but
lowering prio - since this is mainly a cosmetical issue)

Take a Draw document and draw a rectangle custom shape.
Extrude it.
Increase the extrusion depth. Nothing happens.
Change the extrusion color from automatic to a custom one. The figur breaks in
two parts.

Same is OK in 2.0.3.

When grabbing the scrollbar and scrolling down a pop-up (yellow background by
default) pops up with the 'current page'/'page total' and includes titles of
chapters, etc. But, if the chapter title contains more than one font, the fonts
appear as garbage if there is no English ASCII equivalent.

For example, using a Devanagari font (Jaipur) combined with a transliteration
font (e-Latin) combined with an English translation in Times.

Thanks to Bernhard (bedipp) for his suggestions.
I have uploaded a revised version (150dpi).

A 300dpi version (2,4MB) is available here:
www.wolldingwacht.de/foss/ooo/OOo-CDROM-Sleeve_en_300dpi.png
The SVG-source (6,7MB) is available as a bzipped tarball here:
http://www.wolldingwacht.de/foss/ooo/OOo-CDROM-Sleeve_svg.tar.bz2

The system only accepts files <= 1MB, so I couldn't upload these files.

The artwork is a composition of files available from the OOo site, which are
subject to their respective licenses. MY part of the artwork (text and overall
layout) is in the public domain. It would be nice if you would give me some
credit or if you drop me a line of someone makes changes, but that's not legally
required.

BTW, is it okay to use the OASIS logo? I haven't asked them, but maybe OOo has a
license or such.

Best regards,
Peer

OK, it happened again - I was prepared ;-)

I was doing three things in parallel:

1. tcpdump of localhost traffic

paveljanik:/tmp # tcpdump -s 8000 -i lo port 2401 >
tcpdump_localhost_port_2401.txt 2>&1

2. running tunnel in script(1) to grab all output from it:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/tmp> ssh -vvv -C -4 -i ~/.ssh/id_dsa-OpenOffice.org -2 -x -L
2401:localhost:2401 [EMAIL PROTECTED]

3. cvs up of all modules:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/.ooo/ooo_SRC680_m178_src> for i in *; do [ ! -d $i ] &&
continue; echo $i; cd $i; cvs -t -z9 up -r SRC680_m178 -dP 2>&1; cd ..; done

Hello you unknown geniuses out there,

I guess I found something out.
The use of Disk Cleaner: that really makes the difference (version 1.5.7 - now
you all must be able to reproduce the 'problem', I think).
There are some options - see screenshot (I still don't know exactly which one) -
and if I neglect them, the problem...
...is over?!

So?

Greetz,
Bizy.

Question 1: I don't know what you mean. I just use the short cut: Ctrl+S or
Bestand/Opslaan or Bestand/Opslaan als (File/Save or Save as).

Question 3: My temp folder is definitely not full - I clean my computer nearly
every day (Disk Cleaner).

In the mean time: the problem persists, even gets worse (having to create a new
document after having created a new one and so on...)

Greetz,
B.

Create and use a template for this with the advantage, that you can change these
settings for all the cells in the whole document on which this template is
applied.

Another option: Use the BRUSH-function, which was integrated to my regret. It's
another form of the so called 'hard formatting'.

sus->rene:

You are right, the version is unclear, but it is not old in OO.o.

For instance, as a hint take in the look into the Application.java you linked
and you will find a variable
"private static final String VERSION = "0.4";"

But I just download the 0.4 and made a DIFF over all java files, there are only
two differences and those even without semantic value.

Even the readme in the official 0.4 is stating to be the 0.4beta2.

Grave is possilby an strange issue, the release engineering had fixed recently:
writer2latex\latex\content\DrawConverter.java, line 196
" horizontal-on-even (vandret på ulige hhv. lige side)."
where the danish 'a' results into an error under some Java machines of OO.o
comunity members.

But it might depend on the build environment of the community, therefore was not
reported.

Please address these issue directly to the maintainer / active members of the
opensource writer2latex project. I put henrikjust on CC.

Due my current work-load I won't be able to bring in the changes in OOo, either.

Regards,
Svante

It would be great if the program would keep the selected border, font-color,
background-color, line-style and line-color when one selects one of them from
the dialog boxes, so you can click it again on some cell and apply the same
formatting. The dialog should appear when one clicks on the downward arrow next
to the color/border/etc.
Right now, if you select a background-color and apply it to a cell for example,
then click on another cell and try to apply the same color, you must search for
the color in the background-color dialog.

I was going to make a similar point. Looking at the documentation both in the
link given (thanks - that's useful) and in OOo Help, it looks to me as if
[:name:] is defined to work anywhere in a regex. Where is the mention of
additional brackets and what purpose would they serve? The fix suggested will
correct a different issue but leave the inconsistent behaviour that a search eg
for "[:alnum:]text" works but "text[:alnum:]" does not. This is bound to confuse
people and lead to the issue being raised again in future.

[tools-issues] [Issue 64583] dmake's mktmp oddities

The previous patch addresses all mktmp / tempfile related problems.

* After "$(mktmp, mytempfile blabla)" mytempfile now also has 600 permissions.

* The tempfile with suffix problem was addressed. If a suffix is requested, i.e.
for groupfiles when GROUPSUFFIX is set, we now generate two files, a secure
and unique file and a second that adds a suffix to the first filename. This
makes sure that the tempfile with suffix is also unique. (At least with
respect to dmake.) To avoid this overhead GROUPSUFFIX should only be set if a
suffix is really needed, for example for windows .BAT/.CMD files. *nix shell
scripts work well without a suffix.

There are a few sanity checks left in the patch that should be removed later
together with the suffix parameter for Create_temp() and Get_temp()

I'll address the problem that dmake currently removes all tempfiles of the
current target after execution of each recipe line in a separate issue. This
adds overhead and should only be done after the last recipe line.

Hi,

it would seem that a table within a table does not respect the padding settings
of the parent cell.

Scenario: Parent table is a one column table. Each cell has a line of text
followed by a nested table (3 rows, 2 columns). I always get an empty line below
the nested table between it and the cell bottom boundary of the parent table
(desired spacing is 1mm). The 1mm spacing works on top and sides. I have set the
'paragraph spacing below' to 0mm. So that is not where the empty line is coming
from.

Regards,
Charles

In CWS locdat204:

i18npool/source/localedata/localedata.cxx 1.42.8.3
i18npool/source/localedata/data/Attic/lb_LU.xml 1.1.2.1
i18npool/source/localedata/data/localedata_euro.map 1.15.22.1
i18npool/source/localedata/data/makefile.mk 1.34.6.3

Just to mention, please note that

- The Locale element's versionDTD attribute must be the value set in the
locale.dtd file, which isn't necessarily the current release's version
number, but may be older. Corrected from "2.0.4" to "2.0.3".

- For the Language and Country element's DefaultName we use English
names, so a ``gawk -f list-locales.awk *.xml'' command in the data
directory produces a list of locales in English. Set to Luxembourgish
  Luxemburg.

- The LC_FORMAT element's replaceTo attribute's numerical language ID
should be given without leading zero (and uppercase), otherwise the
number formatter's dialog will generate additional almost identical
  entries. Corrected "-046E" to "-46E".

- The Currency element's usedInCompatibleFormatCodes attribute doesn't
generally need to be set for currencies prior to the Euro, but only if
the old StarDivision's StarOffice 5.2 and earlier already knew that
currency in its binary file format, which isn't the case for new
locales. Changed that attribute to "false" for LUF and to "true" for
EUR, and also adapted the LC_FORMAT element's replaceTo attribute
accordingly to use "[$€-46E]". This adds to clarity if someone looks
  at the locale data file.

- The CurrencyID should be the ISO 4217 currency code, currently
identical with the BankSymbol. Corrected for both currencies.

Thanks
  Eike

At least from what I've checked, Perl, GNU sed, GNU grep and bash all treat
these like a normal character class. Why wouldn't they be?

I don't know if the misconception is in the implementation or in the
documentation. The online help doesn't explain that the named classes require
any context; but more importantly, the implementation seems to neither require
nor support the standard usage.

I'm hoping that someone familiar with the implementation and the roadmap would
triage this so that we're all on the same page. Is POSIX the accepted standard
for RE's in OOo? If so, are the implementation and the documentation correct?

Thanks 'tv' for your full reply. I will consider the issue further this evening.
I think the heart of the problem may be a cultural one; A balance needs to found
between Sun ownership and actual openess of OpenOffice...
Adding 'mmeeks' to CC, in case he has any feelings on this topic.

In the short-term, the currently integrated 'fix' doesn't solve the problem
originally described. Since Stella will not convert from grey to black, this
Issue should be set to WONTFIX and the integrated changes removed. (As I said,
it really is important to have seperate issues for the icons updated, so 3rd
parties can actually keep track of what is happening).

Regards,
Andrew

Hello,
this is not a bug report, but a request for a useful feature that Base doesn't
support yet.

Let's say I need to calculate a price markup based on some percentage rate. I
can build a query with two starting fields: "NetPrice" and "MkUpRate". Then, I
can create a third field inserting a simple formula:

"NetPrice" * "MkUpRate" / 100 AS "MarkUp"

Usually, users need also the sum of "NetPrice" and "MarkUp", and here there are
two ways to do it at present, with Base:

1) creating a fourth field with the following formula:

"NetPrice" + ("NetPrice" * "MkUpRate" / 100) AS "MarkUp" AS "Total"

but it's not a good (and safe) solution to repeat the same formula more than
once, mainly when it is more complicated.

2) creating a II level query (query in query) where it'll be possible to execute
the sum "NetPrice" + "MarkUp", avoiding repetitions of any formulas. But, this
way, we'd need two queries rather than one.

IMO, the best solution seems to be that one Access offers to its users: when
using calculated fields inside queries, users must declare them as "Expression",
by the same item available in the List Box on "Function" row. This way, Access
can recognize calculated fields and properly use their results.

I think this feature could help Base users to simplify a lot their projects,
avoiding many repetitions of their formulas.

Best regards and thanks in advance,
Franco
