I attempt to preview in Calc and only see two of the cells - the ones that are
multiple cells fused
together. This happens regardless of whether the file format is sxc or ods. The
same happens when I
attempt to export to pdf. Export to xhtml works.

I'm using OSX 10.4.7 on an 800 MHz G4 iBook with 640 MB of RAM.

 checked with 2.0.4RC1 German version WIN XP: [680m3(Build9066)] and can NOT
confirm that problem.

Steps (not) to reproduce:
1. open new spreadsheet
2. to all 3 sheets insert sheet No to A1
3. Menu File - Print
   Information: I tried with PDF-Creator FreePDF XP, not a real printer
4. Click Pages, select 2-3
   Expected: A PDF containing sheet 2 and sheet 3 should be created
   Actual: as expected

@joeconner:
please attach a sample file!

I can confirm the effect with 2.0.2 German version WIN XP:
[680m5(Build9011)]: When I open the spreadsheet and switch to page preview, I
see something like in attached 'Lab Grade Template.pdf'.

Everything works fine if I open a new spreadsheet, use Menu Insert - Sheet from
file ... and try to print.

@blackgriffen
Is this a general problem for you or only with this special file?
Can you contribute a step by step instruction how to create a document showing
that problem? Currently my suspect is that that file simply is damaged.

Needed changes: patching unxmacxp.mk.

After I changed it, I had to change our stlport patch, because _M_get_facet
returning non-void had no return statement in it. I simply copied the change
from main STLport patch. (We have to think about unification of the patches
here...)

Build continues now...

@james : I've added i68623 as this still causes a crash in 2.0.4rc1 PPC

I'll go back and check the others.

The following simple macro works 90% and crashes 10%. The macro simply applies
the Text body style from style list. If it crashed 100%, the fault is mine.
But if it only crashes 10%, then I think the fault is OOo.

sub TextBody
rem --
rem define variables
dim document   as object
dim dispatcher as object
rem --
rem get access to the document
document   = ThisComponent.CurrentController.Frame
dispatcher = createUnoService(com.sun.star.frame.DispatchHelper)

rem --
dim args1(1) as new com.sun.star.beans.PropertyValue
args1(0).Name = Template
args1(0).Value = Text body
args1(1).Name = Family
args1(1).Value = 2

dispatcher.executeDispatch(document, .uno:StyleApply, , 0, args1())

end sub

On Mac OS X/Intel, sizeof returns long unsiged int:

paveltel:~/q oo$ cat q.c; gcc -Wall q.c
#include stdio.h

int main()
{
printf(sizeof (int) is %d\n, sizeof (int));
return 0;
}
q.c: In function 'main':
q.c:5: warning: format '%d' expects type 'int', but argument 2 has type 'long
unsigned int'
paveltel:~/q oo$

Thus to prevent warnings in typesconfig, we have to cast the result of sizeof to
int. Patch attached.

This file comes from what were originally sxc files made with a flavor of
NeoOffice 1.2 or 1.1 back in
mid Oct 2005. I don't know how to create the problem from scratch. I can,
however, attach a copy of the
original file that I have removed the student data from. Oddly the first time I
tried removing the student
data it fixed the issue for part of the file, but I had played with the file on
the system so I had to do it
again and editing it in OOorg 2.0 didn't help that time.

I'm not sure what's going on, to be honest. I am especially confused that OOorg
would be able to display
a malformed file fine but be unable to make it a pdf.

The function _M_get_facet does not containt return statement, but returns
non-void. There is a patch in main STLport patch, but not in macosx specific
patch. Add it there as well.

well, I just tried the DicOOo 1.6 on my 2.0.4rc1 to install an Esperanto
dictionary as normal user, and it worked fine. The Esperanto language appears in
the list of spellcheckable languages.

All of my new dictionaries are installed here :

/home/alex/.openoffice.org2/user/wordbook

so for me, it looks like this is working as planned, isn't it ?

Create a table in Writer.
Run a macro that assignes a border to one cell of the table, such as
  With sBorder
.OuterLineWidth=25
.InnerLineWidth=25
.Color=0
.Linedistance=60
A nice double line is drawn in that cell.
Save the file, close, reopen.
The line is gone, cell border is 0, .IsHorizontalLineValid=false (in case the
border line was assigned to a horizontal line)

Now repeat the process with Borderlinewidth and distance as they can be assigned
 in the table properties dialog, e.g.(2,2,0,35). This works fine.

Possible cause (without looking at the OOo code): not the border settings are
saved but an index that relates to the set of borders which are available in the
dialog. Any other configuration that is not present in this dialog cannot be
saved.

This issue might be related to 61946 Double-borders applied to a table from
table tool bar have vanished when document is reopened.

If you want to investigate without having to code, you can use the macro that
caused that trouble. It is availabel at http://home.cablesurf.de/dhiller
Various  Software  BorderLiner

It is not possible to use name of a matrix for the function vlookup.
Instead for instance: VLOOKUP($A2;$H$1:$J$9;2)
it would be very useful to use : VLOOKUP($A2;matrixname;2)
The name is before defined for a the Matrix: $H$1:$J$9.
In MS Excel is this possible. So if you wants to open as Excel File where this
fun ction is used you will get an error.
I hope that someone could solve this problem.

I'm attempting to sort a file containing this data:

1 A
3 B
4 D
2 B

The two upper lines have a font-color of red. The 2 lower lines - black.
When sorting via the 'sort ascending' botton in the toolbar, the 2 upper lines
remain red (even though in-fact row #4, now the 2nd row, should be black).

This DOESN'T happen when selecting the sort option from the 'data' menu.

This is NOT a sort order issue. Sorting order looks fine. It's just that the
format isn't sorted with the content.

I've retraced this bug repeatedly. I would attach my file, but damn me, I can't
find the attach button!

BTW: I was inspired by bug $59745 to try-out the menu option. Maybe those issues
are related?

Success!
Amit

I really want to use 'occasional text flow wrapping in a slide.' If possible, I
want you to improve it.
Please don't let me think, OOo is really great except Impress. I should use
PowerPoint rather than Impress. Microsoft is greater than the open source
community in this regard because I can use 'occasional text flow wrapping in a
slide' when using PowerPoint.

Hi,

OpenOffice.org build directly from CVS does not by default call home for
online update.

Sun provided build on the other hand *does* automatically check for online
updates without asking user.

I consider this as a stopper for 2.0.4 release.

I do not believe that it's a real printing problem. Even when I save the test
document as .XLS and reopen it with EXCEL VIEWER, the strange invisibility of
the most of the document remains. It seems that we have some hidden Hide when
printing property for most of the cells, so that the document seems to be
corrupted. But of course, it would be interesting to find out why the printout
differs from the document view.

Several people mentioned their concern about a negative impact of Internet
access without notifying the user before. Vivid discussion on
releases@openoffice.org:
http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/BrowseList?list=releasesby=threadfrom=1500852

Some proposals to solve the problem on [EMAIL PROTECTED], too:
http://marketing.openoffice.org/servlets/BrowseList?list=prby=threadfrom=1500852

As PR-list is private, I copy my proposal here:

What about using a message box *before* Internet access is tried?

The user should at least once be told that OOo wants to have Internet
access and why.

In that message box it should be possible to decide if you want to be
informed (by this message box) the next time.

Hi,

I'm now working on implementing warnigns are errors on Mac OS X and I realised
that MODULES_WITH_WARNINGS does not work in all dirs. Then I found it is because
of PRJNAME being wrong in these dirs.

Does this change have other effects?

Patch attached.

I have got clients where pupils use OOo and I install OOo to a read-only network
directory. In such an enviroment it is useless, if each user can decide
concerning update check. I like a solution where I can disable it during
installation.

Hi,
Running OO 2.0 under Linux:
Every time I start the program, I get the Welcome to openoffice.org 2.0 intro
screen. My guess is that a setting(s) in Setup.xcu is either not getting set or
is being ignored.
Please advise.
Regards,
Mark

I, too, have confirmed that this is a real issue in the Mac OS X version of OOo
2.0.3 on Intel (I'm on Mac OS X 10.4.7/Intel). As the original poster indicated,
the bug happens with mixed data. I used the following data to confirm
(interestingly, this data is presented post-sort):

AD4
AE1
AE3
AE3
AE1
AE2
AE3
AJ5
AJ5

Furthermore, I also confirmed that the bug does not exist on the Linux/Intel
2.0.3 version (running on Ubuntu on the same machine under Parallels). It'd be
nice to see this issue's status changed from unconfirmed as putting the above
data into a spreadsheet and trying to sort it would confirm the problem in a
matter of seconds.

Original problem appeared in FC5 system built several months ago and kept up to
date via Smart and standard repositories. I rebuilt another FC5 system and
updated it to latest distributed RPMs (which includes OO 2.0.2) and could NOT
recreate the problem. It is clearly a problem with my configuration and NOT
with OO. Sigh! I had hoped my days of rebuilding systems when they got stale
were behind my when I abandoned Microsoft.

Hi,

there is no bug. The cells A1:P1 are defined as Print range. So the Export to
PDF and the Page Preview works as designed and shows just what you've defined.

Shouldn't there be some sort of feedback that the print range is limited like
that? Like a box with a little
printer in the corner or something? I'm tempted to morph this in to a feature
request, if anyone thinks
there's a chance in it going anywhere.

Guys, this happens to me only with SRC680_m150.
The problem was real, bizarre and I could not solved or explained it.
I moved on to next build, worked very well.
Please, close this issue, doesn't worth your time as it did not repeat in
subsequent builds.
Thanks!

I'm currently playing with obo05 and wanted to to a full rebuild from scratch
to test my patchset, but my script accidentally removed wntmsci10 and not
wntmsci11 so that I basically did a rebuild (solver was deleted) on untouched
modules.

It seems like a lot of modules are rebuild needlessly. Found with VC++ 2005
Express, on W32-bash.

But indeed, I believe that should be visible in NAVIGATOR or anywhere else,
currently I don't know any other possibility than a.m. Menu.

Hi Frank,
I see the point and checked it. It really works as you said! Anyway, I feel that
it may be a good idea to make the quick-sum summing up cells with HH:MM:SS
format and to show the result as [HH]:MM:SS. It seems to be more handy (why
(quick-)summing up if the result isnt [HH]:MM:SS?) and may prevent other users
from that trap. Just a proposal..

Sorry for the delay- this Issue fell off my radar...
The 'Record Macro' icon is correct, however, it was also assigned (wrongly) to
the 'Autopilot / Wizards' mime type icons:
ui/ooo_custom_images/industrial/res/lx03216.png
ui/ooo_custom_images/industrial/res/sx03216.png

Searching Jimmac's website, I found what I believe are the intended icons. I've
attached optimized versions of the originals (for the record), and also attach
the 'fixed' icons for CVS inclusion.

Jimmac, are you happy for me to proceed with this fix? IMHO in future we should
try to standardize MIME type and Application icons for OOo... but this is a
seperate project...

While I was revising the Italian translation of an OOo document (from OOoAuthor
site) I noted the following behavior of the Accept or Reject Changes dialog
box.

Step to reproduce:

- open the attached OOo text document
- check that the recorded changes are shown ( Edit Changes Show )
- scroll to around the center of the document and put the cursor on a changed
item (an underline or strikethrough red text)
- menu: Edit Changes Accept or Reject, the Accept or Reject Changes window
pops up, but the list of changes is not scrolled down to the one being selected
in the document, though it is select in the list. You have to scroll the list
there manually.

What I would expect: when the dialog pops, up scroll the list down to the change
cursor is on.
Lacking a Next/Previous button capability (see issue 58841) I use the list to
scan through the changes.

My system is GNU/Linux FC5, tested on KDE 3.5.4, and on Gnome 2.14.3.
To be checked on Windows.

The problem is there in SRC680_m184, so I guess it's in 2.0.4 as well.
I've worked out a patch SRC680_m184 based, and I'm testing it before submission.

The problem is that with I could not reproduce this crash, even with version
2.02.
I have this problem one day and never again.
So, to update to a newer version of OpenOffice.org is not necessary.

No, I do not use any kind of accessibility (screen readers , e.g.).

Ivo: transex3's makefile is using PRJNAME to define the lib:

APP1LIBS+=  $(LB)$/$(PRJNAME).lib
#APP1DEPN=   $(OBJ)$/src_yy.obj $(LB)$/$(PRJNAME).lib
APP1DEPN=   $(OBJ)$/src_yy_wrapper.obj $(LB)$/$(PRJNAME).lib

Can you please rework this to use target instead?

Maybe disabling of automatic update by default is easiest way to solve this
problem? In this case user need to enable OnlineUpdate manually via
Tools-Options UI. Something like this:

When designing an HTML 4.0 Transitional file in Writer, the program assigns the
attribute NAME and does not assign attribute ALT in the IMG Element The exact
line was IMG SCR=Dragonfight.jpg NAME=graphics1 WIDTH=300 HEIGHT=300
BORDER=0 which should be IMG SCR=Dragonfight.jpg ALT=Adventures for Christ
WIDTH=300 HEIGHT=300 BORDER=0. This error causes the document to fail
validation at W3C.

I am using at-poke with OOo 2.0.4 in order to write some customized scripts for
the Orca screen reader. When I poke the combo boxes on the Formatting tool
bar to obtain their text (i.e. current style name, font name, and font size),
OOo crashes. I can reproduce this 100% of the time in both Writer and Calc on
two machines, both of which are running the latest version of Ubuntu Edgy Eft
for i386.

Steps to reproduce:
1.  Launch at-poke
2.  Launch Writer or Calc
3. In the at-poke window, select soffice.bin in the list of applications and
then press the Poke button.
4. Drill down to the Formatting tool bar
5. Choose and expand one of the following:
a. Apply Style
b. Font Name
c. Font Size
6. Choose and expand the combo box under the item you selected in step 5
7. Click on the text item beneath the combo box you selected in step 6

At this point OOo crashes and goes into Document Recovery mode.
