If so, sorry. Excel is able to reverse an axis of a plot (scatter & line). E.g., it can make the Y-Axis have negative values on top and positive values below. If I import such a graph from Excel, the axis are turned upside-up again (with no warning or error message). Converting the resulting openoffice file back to Excel, leaves the figure upside-up. However, if I place my cursor in a certain position, I end up dragging the indent inwards. This behaviour is unexpected. It is never likely to be what the user intended, because there is no way to know exactly where to place the cursor. Only a fraction of a millimetre either way causes the indent to be captured, or not captured. If the user actually does want to drag the indent, they can do it on the ruler. If OOo people want to keep this feature, they should allow the user to specify which option they prefer, using Tools > Options - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. This is a problem, because when installing uno extensions for all users, installation is usually done as root. And root never runs OOo directly. Steps to reproduce: c2:~# rm -r .openoffice.org2 c2:~# /opt/openoffice.org2.0/program/unopkg list ERROR: (com.sun.star.lang.WrappedTargetRuntimeException) { { { Message = "[context=\"user\"] caught unexpected exception!", Context = (com.sun.star.uno.XInterface) @0 } }, TargetException = (any) { (com.sun.star.uno.Exception) { Message = "Invalid language string.", Context = (com.sun.star.uno.XInterface) @0 } } } unopkg failed. c2:~# This problem can be worked around as follows: c2:~# rm -r .openoffice.org2 c2:~# mkdir -p .openoffice.org2/user/registry/data/org/openoffice c2:~# cp /tmp/Setup.xcu .openoffice.org2/user/registry/data/org/openoffice/ c2:~# /opt/openoffice.org2.0/program/unopkg list all deployed user packages: It is sufficient for Setup.xcu to contain the followin lines: http://openoffice.org/2001/registry"; xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"; oor:name="Setup" oor:package="org.openoffice"> xxx The xxx in within value tags is just to demonstrate that it does not matter if the language string actually is valid, it just has to be present and not longer than three characters. This bug is present in version OOD680_m4 but it is not present in 2.0.3. One important feature that is broken by this is installation of OOo extensions through Debian package management system: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=387224 This is especially bad for Finnish users who rely on third party components to provide spellchecking and hyphenation capabilities for OOo. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. For example, ---8<--- 1612c1619 < const sal_Unicode* FLOPPY_DRV_LETTERS = TEXT("AaBb"); --- > const sal_Unicode* FLOPPY_DRV_LETTERS = reinterpret_cast(TEXT("AaBb")); 1618c1625 < return ((wcschr(FLOPPY_DRV_LETTERS, *pf) && (L':' == *ps)) || --- > return ((wcschr(reinterpret_cast(FLOPPY_DRV_LETTERS), *pf) && (L':' == *ps)) || ---8<--- could probably also be fixed by changing FLOPPY_DRV_LETTERS to LPCWSTR or similar and thus avoiding the two reinterpret_casts. For another example, ---8<--- 3046c3053 < if ( 0 == rtl_ustr_compareIgnoreAsciiCase( strDirectoryPath->buffer, L"file:///" ) ) --- > if ( 0 == rtl_ustr_compareIgnoreAsciiCase( strDirectoryPath->buffer, reinterpret_cast(L"file:///") ) ) ---8<--- could also be fixed by using rtl_ustr_ascii_compareIgnoreAsciiCase and dropping the L. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=69636 Issue #|69636 Summary|Suggestion for (probably dramatically) increasing the |audience of OOo Component|framework Version|1.0.0 Platform|All URL| OS/Version|All Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|FEATURE Priority|P3 Subcomponent|ui Assigned to|tm Reported by|gyll --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Sep 18 06:12:16 -0700 2006 --- Suggestion for (probably dramatically) increasing the audience of OOo: When saving a file as PDF, OOo should have an option of "Save as OOo-editable PDF"; this would translate in saving the document in PDF format, but with an attached file (included as an object in the PDF) that would contain the complete document in native OOo format. In this way, the document could be opened for reading by anyone having an "ordinary PDF viewer", but it could also be opened by an OOo user for editing (the fact that the format is an OOo-editable PDF, i.e. that it includes the complete document in OOo format, should be automatically detected by OOo when the file is opened via "Open PDF") I see this problem very often in my company: when we issue files to be processed by the MSO-based departments (mainly the accounting depts) or to our customers, we need to save the files in MSO format (with the associated headakes) even though in some 90% of the cases the documents never get edited again. However, it's a management decision to have such documents both readable via a "standard" program (both MSO and Adobe PDF Reader qualify for this title), and to have them editable in the future. Thus, no matter how much we dislike it, we end up with requiring to have the files saved in MS word format. I believe there are many companies in our situation, but of course it is up to you de look into how much of a difference would such a feature make for the deployment of OOo. Maybe the above suggestion would not have a huge impact on the large multinationals, but i believe it would make a world of difference for a large number of small- and medium-sized companies like ours. All the best, Gyll. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. That's about the best I can do to describe the little image that pops up on the bottom right when you use some feature of OOo that you've never used before, that OOo thinks you should know more about. When you click on it, you get context-sensitive help about the feature you just used. In my case, I had recently installed the 2.0.4 RC1, and in this instance, I opened the datasources viewer (F4), used it, then closed it. That's when the image popped up, so I clicked it to see what I had done that was "new". I got the referenced message. It cannot be reproduced without wiping out my OOo installation and user configuration files so that a new installation will think I have not done this particular thing again. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. But Math's content.xml consists of MathML only and thus it can not be put there. Also storing it in a different xml file will break the curent setup. And since since Math is not really that useful as stand alone application it seems nothing serious is missing. And considereing Math es embedded object: it will really make no use to have a document with e.g. 20 formulas and have all of them linke to a macro. Nobody wants 20 macros executed automatically! So having no redo while only following your description is valid. I assume by 'redo' you mean 'undo' It is a long lasting implementation detail that in an outline view you can only undo what you edited in the outline view. As soon as you leave the outline view you can still undo it but while you are inside the outline view you can only undo what you changed in the current session of the outline view. We had this behaviour since the beginning of time. The only changes are that starting with 2.0 and later patches we have a more robust and working undo for the outline view. To enable undo in the outline view from previous views we would have to do huge changes in the outline view. This has currently no priority and since this is also no regression I change the target to OOo later - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 69635] Writer cannot open .xhtml files, nor can it parse XHTML properly
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=69635 Issue #|69635 Summary|Writer cannot open .xhtml files, nor can it parse XHTM |L properly Component|Word processor Version|OOo 2.0.2 Platform|All URL| OS/Version|All Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|open-import Assigned to|mru Reported by|saoshyant --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Sep 18 05:50:41 -0700 2006 --- How do you do? I have searched the issue data base, and I found some issues with XHTML, but didn't go into much detail to what I'd like to point out, so I'm submiting this. I haven't tested it with other applications from the OOo suite besides Writer, but I could check if need be. So, what I've seen under my Kubuntu installation is that Writer is unable to import .xhtml files when available in that extension. If I change the extension to .html, Writer will load it up as if it was HTML tag soup monstrousity, complete with unparsed tag at the top. This is not much noticable when dealing with text-only, but I'm sure it will conflict if one adds anything that actually requires the use of XHTML (MathML, SVG and what not). Now, I'm sure it can't be that hard to support an open specification that's been around for years now, but if there's no resources to work on this issue, I recommend (if OOo license allows) the use of either the Gecko engine, or KHTML. I can also attach some XHTML test cases here if it helps. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
