When I copy Hebrew text and paste it into OpenOffice Writer, if the Hebrew text
has a full colon at the end of it, the full colon will be copied to Writer, but
will not be placed at the end of the sentence, it will be placed at the
beginning of the sentence instead. Full colon example is :

[sw-issues] [Issue 72821] Merge with field in footer uses last data record values only

Three files attached to replicate the issue. Note:
1. I've left graphics in the Writer file in case they are part of the issue.
Also I haven't adjusted them to position correctly in the output, so at some
point you'll have to delete or move one or more of them to see the footers you
need to.
2. I left all the rows in the spreadsheet. You can delete some to make it work
faster, but it certainly causes the issue with all rows in.
3. You'll probably have to reconnect the database file and spreadsheet, and
register the database. I named the database connection TestMerge.
4. No relevance to this ticket, but these files are also the example files for
Issues 72818 and 72820.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the file OOo Bug 72818 to 72821.odt
2. Show data sources
3. Click Mail Merge button
4. Click Next 5 times - OOo will now be creating the docs (VERY slowly!)
5. Click Next
6. Select Save Merged Document
7. Select From (will be 1 to 74 if you've used all rows in the spreadsheet)
8. Click Save Documents, select a directory in which to save them. I used
prefix TestMerge.
9. Open doc TestMerge_0.odt and check the three page footers. You might have
to move a graphic frame to see the first two. On my system this file had
PostalName1 in the first page footer, and PostalName74 in the 2nd and 3rd page
footers.
10. Note that on my system the output files vary in length as reported in
Issue 72820, so some files will have nothing in them.

Please let me know if you need any more information.

regards - David

Hi,

I created issue http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=72835 because
there is another
problem about version naming. Please have a look.

After Ingo Schmitt comment, it does appear desktop/macosx is not a good idea,
and use
instsetoo_native would be the good solution.

My opinion is we should unify the changes :

- move version number in iinstsetoo_native
- add tagging as proposed

Last but not least: please use [EMAIL PROTECTED] and/or IRC meetings when you
want to change something :
we are a Team, and must work like a Team.

Thank you

I'm ok for the change, i.e. move desktop/macosx somewhere in instsetoo_native,
and to use .pkg

FYI, I know Oliver has something in mind for that, but I think we should
discuss more on [EMAIL PROTECTED]
and/or on #ooo_macport before to start. ( like how help Oliver, for example).

Thank you very much for your time and your explanations. We will follow them.

I believe that this is not default for the mathematical users who need a lower
case i. You can add it in 'Tools' 'AutoCorrect' 'Replace' tab.
I can confirm that this is not in the en-GB build by default.

The text box is an embeded object. Which embeded object is it? Where is the
linked file? Can you attach the embeded object? I cannot repoduce a crash on the
Mac. This is probably due to the fact that OpenOffice.org 2.1 cannot find the
embeded object.
Have you tried this with OpenOffice.org 2.1?

I get this error after I installed openoffice 2.1. I was using openoffice 2.0
before with no problems. Openoffice 2.0 was my first install of openoffice.

I resolved by removing info pointing to openoffice 2.0 in my startup folder

[dba-issues] [Issue 51485] change order of fields usi ng Table Designer

This can't be possible ATM, because most databases doesn't allow to insert a
field between two other. Anyway, this is still a valid enhancement request and
may be some days in the future database will allow those things.

That's the advantage of having the OOo frontend to the database: shouldn't we be
able to transparently wrap this functionality into any backend? Two
possibilities come to mind:
1) create a new table with the the old data but new column order, then delete
the old one
2) create an invisible system table for OOo that has the preferred column order,
and use it whenever presenting data to the user.

The first option is probably more robust, but also more computationally
expensive, depending on the number of records in the table to be re-ordered.

Cheers,
-im

Top line of a table gets cropped when exported to pdf IF the preceding
paragraph's space after paragraph parameter is set to 0.

See sample files (the odt looks fine, but the pdf version looks very bad because
of the missing top line of the table).

Desired:
1. The odt should look exactly like pdf (and vice versa).
2. The user should not have to set space after paragraph to non-zero value to
avoid the cropping.

Without understanding all details, I can confirm the effect with 2.0.2 German
version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9011)]

Steps to reproduce:

1. Install French wordbook
1.1. Menu File - Assitents - Install new Word books
1.2. follos instructions to install the French wordbook
In 'C:\Programme\OpenOffice.org 2.0\share\dict\ooo' the new wordbook
 'fr_FR.dic' will be installed
2. Open new WRITER document
3. Write some sentence containing 'anti-inflammatoire' (and change language to
French, if that's not the standard language of the document)
4. Activate auto-spellcheck
expected: 'anti-inflammatoire' shold not have the wavy red underline
actual: 'anti' is underlined, althoug it is listed in the dict.
   (pls see screenshot!)

I did not find an example in the German Wordbook, but I did not look intensively

This issue might be related to issue 62226

reuss,
in order for Writer to open the file correctly you have to specify correct
encoding (via File, Open, Files of type).
What Writer could do is guess file-type.
So far it does not (OO 2.1 on WinXP).

OOWriter invents a blue background for a text box with no background color
specified. I'll attach the testcase.

The XML says:
style:style style:name=fr1 style:family=graphic
  style:graphic-properties fo:background-color=#ff /
/style:style

 draw:frame draw:style-name=fr1 ... [...]

Why does OOWriter show a blue background for this frame? From the XML, it
should be white. In fact I found that OOWriter uses draw:fill-color nowadays
for the background color of text boxes (I guess fo:background-color is the
background color of the text itself). That is fine I guess (*), I'll change
kword to do that too, but still: if a frame doesn't have -any- draw:fill-color
specified, and no style does either, it's a bug if the frame is loaded as
blue.

(*) I can't check what the ODF spec says at the moment, since OOo-2.0.4 seems
to hang while opening the ODF spec (both with the 1.0 version as .sxw or with
later internal version as .odt). That's another bug though.

In any case this seems quite inconsistent too: text boxes would use
draw:fill-color for the fill color of the whole frame and possibly
fo:background-color for the background behind the text itself, but for table
cells OOo uses fo:background-color for the background of the whole table cell!

rainerbielefeld: this issue is plateform independant. It is related to the way
the spellchecker works. I tested it on Mac OS X and Linux PPC.

In French, this it not possible to simply remove words containing hyphens,
because hyphens belong to the spelling of the words.

At bug # 44102, is told us that with dmake openoffice_en-US PKGFORMAT=archive,
OOo will now create an archive that can be installed by:
2. tar xvzf openoffice.tar.gz
3. cd openoffice
4. ./soffice

Currently, debian users and users of non-rpm-based distros have to struggle with
rpm packages.

Please distributed the installation in the .tar.gz archive format. RPMs are
useless to many users. tar.gz will work for all Linux users.

Never the less the original file and the converted file are now attached to

It's good to see you guys are playing bare knuckle politics with open source
projects. If the OpenOffice
porting folks put out a better port than NeoOffice, they will become the
dominant platform. Until then,
those of us who stumble across NeoOffice will use it instead. To say that
letting poor Joe Schmoe know
that there is a perfectly good port (even if not ideal) available now would be
a slap in the face to OO
developers a manifestation of pure selfishness and is frankly dispicable.

Most people who buy a Mac DO NOT HAVE X11 INSTALLED or have any idea how to use
it. The fact that
you guys are so egotistical and selfish that you don't want people to know
about a project that could
greatly benefit them, and by the way benefit OO as well, really makes me sad.

RTFD is an extension to the RTF format that allows for linking images. It is a
folder/bundle with the RTF file TXT.rtf and then has the images in the
directory. It currently works on the Mac only with Pages and Text Edit. I think
it also works in the Mac version of MS Word.

If one creates a Write document with an embedded Draw document, then exports to
XHTML, the embedded objects are skipped in the output.

Example:
1) Create a new Draw document and put in a simple shape like a single circle.
2) Save to 'theDrawFile.odg' and Close Draw.
3) Create a new Write document and put in some random text.
4) Go to Insert-Object...-OLE Object and select 'theDrawFile.odg' with create
from file as a link.
5) Now export the Write document (now with the embedded Draw object) to XHTML.

You'll notice the export filter didn't traverse the hierarchy and cause the
known subdocument to be exported as well.

But I can just open the resulting XHTML into a text editor and add the missing
embed tag. An example would be:

 embed src=theDrawFile.svg height=300 width=600 type=image/svg+xml
  pluginspage=http://www.adobe.com/svg/viewer/install/; /

Next, open the 'theDrawFile.odg' in Draw and export to SVG. There, done.

A per Object property to stipulate the type of traversal would be nice.

Agreed. The current value of 1 pt is only suitable if applied to huge text. For
normal body text point size the tracking for condensed or expanded text should
scoll in increments of 0.1 points.

Best would be to scroll in increments of 1%, which is 0.1 points for 10 point
text, but 1 point for 100 point text.

I suggest that the simplest option would be to incease the allowable limits for
condensing tracking. The current default for scrolling is 1 point, which is
absurd (see http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=17732).

Instead, make the value scroll in increments of 1% and permit a maximum of
100%.
This is, in fact, more than enough for overstrike, as very few 10 point
characters in any font are 10 points wide. This will also be sufficient for
expanded text — 72 point text could be expanded by 1

The colors depends on the theme you are using: in most themes the text color is
black on white, while
on inverse themes it most likely is white on black. So currently a missing
color attribute means somthing
like: default.

No, not automatically. Before some code change can be integrated into the main
code line, it needs to get
tested on a dedicated CVS branch (we call this a Child Workspace (CWS)). My
plan is to open such a CWS
early next year.

Another option is to extend the binary patching algorith Ingo mentioned to meet
our needs (currently it
does not support a product version).
