To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=72821 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Dec 24 00:49:28 -0800 2006 --- Three files attached to replicate the issue. Note: 1. I've left graphics in the Writer file in case they are part of the issue. Also I haven't adjusted them to position correctly in the output, so at some point you'll have to delete or move one or more of them to see the footers you need to. 2. I left all the rows in the spreadsheet. You can delete some to make it work faster, but it certainly causes the issue with all rows in. 3. You'll probably have to reconnect the database file and spreadsheet, and register the database. I named the database connection TestMerge. 4. No relevance to this ticket, but these files are also the example files for Issues 72818 and 72820. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open the file OOo Bug 72818 to 72821.odt 2. Show data sources 3. Click Mail Merge button 4. Click Next 5 times - OOo will now be creating the docs (VERY slowly!) 5. Click Next 6. Select Save Merged Document 7. Select From (will be 1 to 74 if you've used all rows in the spreadsheet) 8. Click Save Documents, select a directory in which to save them. I used prefix TestMerge. 9. Open doc TestMerge_0.odt and check the three page footers. You might have to move a graphic frame to see the first two. On my system this file had PostalName1 in the first page footer, and PostalName74 in the 2nd and 3rd page footers. 10. Note that on my system the output files vary in length as reported in Issue 72820, so some files will have nothing in them. Anyway, this is still a valid enhancement request and may be some days in the future database will allow those things. That's the advantage of having the OOo frontend to the database: shouldn't we be able to transparently wrap this functionality into any backend? Two possibilities come to mind: 1) create a new table with the the old data but new column order, then delete the old one 2) create an invisible system table for OOo that has the preferred column order, and use it whenever presenting data to the user. The first option is probably more robust, but also more computationally expensive, depending on the number of records in the table to be re-ordered. I'll attach the testcase. The XML says: style:style style:name=fr1 style:family=graphic style:graphic-properties fo:background-color=#ff / /style:style draw:frame draw:style-name=fr1 ... [...] Why does OOWriter show a blue background for this frame? From the XML, it should be white. In fact I found that OOWriter uses draw:fill-color nowadays for the background color of text boxes (I guess fo:background-color is the background color of the text itself). That is fine I guess (*), I'll change kword to do that too, but still: if a frame doesn't have -any- draw:fill-color specified, and no style does either, it's a bug if the frame is loaded as blue. (*) I can't check what the ODF spec says at the moment, since OOo-2.0.4 seems to hang while opening the ODF spec (both with the 1.0 version as .sxw or with later internal version as .odt). That's another bug though. In any case this seems quite inconsistent too: text boxes would use draw:fill-color for the fill color of the whole frame and possibly fo:background-color for the background behind the text itself, but for table cells OOo uses fo:background-color for the background of the whole table cell! - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. If the OpenOffice porting folks put out a better port than NeoOffice, they will become the dominant platform. Until then, those of us who stumble across NeoOffice will use it instead. To say that letting poor Joe Schmoe know that there is a perfectly good port (even if not ideal) available now would be a slap in the face to OO developers a manifestation of pure selfishness and is frankly dispicable. Most people who buy a Mac DO NOT HAVE X11 INSTALLED or have any idea how to use it. The fact that you guys are so egotistical and selfish that you don't want people to know about a project that could greatly benefit them, and by the way benefit OO as well, really makes me sad. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=72924 Issue #|72924 Summary|Export-XHTML: Known OLE Objects are not traversed Component|Word processor Version|OOo 2.1 Platform|PC URL| OS/Version|Windows XP Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|save-export Assigned to|mru Reported by|davygrvy --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Dec 24 19:00:06 -0800 2006 --- If one creates a Write document with an embedded Draw document, then exports to XHTML, the embedded objects are skipped in the output. Example: 1) Create a new Draw document and put in a simple shape like a single circle. 2) Save to 'theDrawFile.odg' and Close Draw. 3) Create a new Write document and put in some random text. 4) Go to Insert-Object...-OLE Object and select 'theDrawFile.odg' with create from file as a link. 5) Now export the Write document (now with the embedded Draw object) to XHTML. You'll notice the export filter didn't traverse the hierarchy and cause the known subdocument to be exported as well. But I can just open the resulting XHTML into a text editor and add the missing embed tag. An example would be: embed src=theDrawFile.svg height=300 width=600 type=image/svg+xml pluginspage=http://www.adobe.com/svg/viewer/install/; / Next, open the 'theDrawFile.odg' in Draw and export to SVG. There, done. A per Object property to stipulate the type of traversal would be nice. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The current value of 1 pt is only suitable if applied to huge text. For normal body text point size the tracking for condensed or expanded text should scoll in increments of 0.1 points. The current default for scrolling is 1 point, which is absurd (see http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=17732). Instead, make the value scroll in increments of 1% and permit a maximum of 100%. This is, in fact, more than enough for overstrike, as very few 10 point characters in any font are 10 points wide. This will also be sufficient for expanded text — 72 point text could be expanded by 1 - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
