[graphics-issues] [Issue 75744] must resize text box two t imes before the resizing is effective

I've tried with OO-2.2rc4.
The problem still appears.
But I see how you proceed: if you take the text tool and draw a box and the fill
the box with text, the box is resizable on the first shot.
If you just click with the text tool on a blank slide and then add some text,
the box will need 2 resizing before it is resized.

When deleting the default-style, your sheet will be completely ruined.
For example,
1) open a (copy of) an existing sheet
2) select a cell and select the style default (using {F11})
3) create a few custom styles (right-click in the styles and formatting dialog)
4) now, one has to be realy fast: so, put your left hand on the keyboard, and
your right hand on the mouse. left-index-finger on the Y and left-ring-finger
on the D. right-click on a custom-style, imediatly pres D and Y,
right-click again, (in the mean time default will be selected, because that is
your current-cell-style) press D and Y. Notice, one should be realy fast.
Just practice a bit...
5) notice your default-style is dissapeard
6) save the file, and reopen.
7) notice your content is all screwed up i think there is no way to undo the
changes...

Well I don't want to send this file full of private addresses. But have a look
at the
content.xml without data.

It's not really WYSIWYG - in the pdf there ist more at one line and the empty
line
appears there, where in the ods was one more linebreak.

Using font DejaVu Sans Condensed. Paper size A4.

(The problem already appeared in older OOo and with font Nimbus Roman.)

First of all, thanks for the wonderful driver! Accessing our POSTGreSQL server
via a slow connection is faster than Base is with a local file!

I have come across a bug and wanted to see if there was a fix for it. When I
write a query in 'Edit' mode and try to run it, nothing is returned - not even
the column names (like it didn't run). If I then save the query anyway and close
it, when I open it not in 'Edit' mode, the query executes fine and the results
are returned correctly. So it is possible to execute Native queries on the
database, but not while in 'Edit' mode. This is a bit painful when creating
queries, because you have to constantly close and re-open the query.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Reproducible. Reassigned. For the Unix side there is already an issue being
worked on: i75669. Maybe we could take this one here for the windows side?

I have failed to determine which subcomponent I had to choose correctly...

How to reproduce bug (I think it is bug):
1. Start Writer;
2. Add this macro to Standard basic library:
sub tweakMenu()
on error goto ErrH
dim xMenu   as object

xMenu =
ThisComponent.getCurrentController.getFrame.LayoutManager.getElement(private:resource/menubar/menubar).XMenuBar
xMenu.enableItem(xMenu.getItemId(1), false)
xMenu.enableItem(xMenu.getItemId(2), false)

exit sub
ErrH:
msgbox error
end sub

3. To run macro you can create toolbar button or use other available methods;
4. Run macro and observe main menu items become grey (color of inactivity);
5. Select these inactive menu items or any other main menu items;
6. Watch as inactive items become active.

In OOO 2.0.3 all worked as it should, only in OOO 2.1 I detected such behaviour.

OS: Windows 2000, service pack 5.0

The problem here is the specification. For charts with more than one contiguous
region of data the table:cell-range-address in the plot-area element can be a
list of ranges. So we need to change the type in the specification from type
cellRangeAddress to cellRangeAddressList. This change will be proposed as a
change for ODF 1.2.

Adding mib for CC.

Note that this issue will be fixed with the changed specification, so probably
not for 2.3.

-MIB: We cannot fix this in the code. without loss of a feature. However the
violation does not appear very often. What target seems realistic for this
issue, when it implies ODF 1.2 as new standard used in OOo?

It seems to be a misconfigured machine. The licence accept date written to the
Setup.xcu is

Obviously the machine date is wrong.

The licence date in the share configution is newer

So it's not surprising that OOo always asks for licence acceptance.

I added the interface com::sun::star::awt::XFont2, which has
the method

long hasGlyphs( [in] sequencechar aText,
[in] long nStartPos,
[in] long nEndPos )
raises (com::sun::star::lang::IndexOutOfBoundsException);

This method returns the offset into aText that points to the first
character that this font has no glyph for. Please note, that
nStartPos is an inclusive index, and nEndPos is an exclusive
index, that means the first character is described by the indices
nStartPos=0 and nEndPos=1. For more details, please see the
IDL documentation.

TBE-DR: You can call getFont() at an XDevice, which returns an XFont
 interface. After that you query that object for the XFont2
 interface.

a) default value of sal_Bool is sal_false ... right
b) it doesnt matter which value is used initial for bState here. Why? We do
nothing in case the any value could not be extracted (see return statement). And
in case some value could be extracted successfully the initial default value was
overwritten by the new value.

Anyway: patch can be accepted ... even it does not fix any actual problem
(excepting warnings).

ab-er: As already described in #i21413, I have no idea what can be
done in Basic to solve this problem. Basic can do nothing here but
rely on the information provided by SvtSysLocale and under certain
circumstances this information seems to be not correct. As you are
the cvs owner of svtools/inc/syslocale.hxx I reassign this task to you.

TBE-DR:
If you want to use the new type com::sun::star::awt::XFont2
you either have to build a new installation set or you have
to copy the new types.rdb file into your office program
directory, e.g.

  copy offapi\wntmsci10\ucr\types.db Office8\program\types.rdb

Please note, that types.db is renamed to types.rdb

[graphics-issues] [Issue 75803] Crash when inserting slide in outline view

2007-03-28 Thread af
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue:
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=75803

User af changed the following:

What|Old value |New value

  Status|NEW   |STARTED

--- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Mar 28 09:04:10 +
2007 ---
The problem here is twofold:

1. The task pane is hidden in the outline mode. Its view shell is still on the
stack and catches the SID_INSERTPAGE slot when the Insert-Slide menu entry is
called.

2. The task pane does some preprocessing of the SID_INSERTPAGE slot and then
(tries to) forward the slot to the main view shell, the OutlineViewShell in this
case. The OutlineViewShell does not support the slot. This leads to a NULL
pointer access in SFX2.

Possible fix:
a) When the task pane is hidden then its shell should be taken from the shell
stack.

b) The handling of the SID_INSERTPAGE by the task pane can maybe done in a more
robust and elegant way.

c) The SFX could possibly handle NULL pointers (i.e. unsupported slots) more
gracefully than just crash. (in the non-pro version it at least shows an
assertion.)

The crashrep.exe file stays in the memory even after the program exits, whether
or not it crashes. This has caused the system to hang on various occasions when
trying to reboot the system. I tried the application called Process Explorer
to force terminate the crashrep.exe program, but it is hooked in some manner in
the memory that is isn't able to be terminated.

I was under the impression that this program was not supposed to start unless
OpenOffice crashed. I see it as this under process explorer:

soffice -- soffice.bin -- crashrep.exe

after closing I see only crashrep.exe still lurking in the memory frequently.
Sometimes I see multiple instances of this application in the memory, and as I
said it tends to hang the system upon reboot.

It is not crash If click the left column of slide first before insert a new
slide.
I debug this issue and find some error.
1.If do not click the left column of slide,the function void
LayoutMenu::Execute (SfxRequest rRequest)(sd/../layoutmenu.cxx)is called and
the function const SfxPoolItem* SfxShell::ExecuteSlot( SfxRequest rReq, BOOL
bAsync ) (SFX2/../shell.exe)is called and SfxExecFunc pFunc = pSlot-
GetExecFnc() will be executed.but the pSlot is NULL,I think this is a reason.
2.If click the left column of slide,the function
void SlideSorterViewShell::FuTemporary (SfxRequest rRequest)
(sd/../slidesorterviewshell.cxx)is called and the new slide can be inserted
in.
Above all,I think there is something wrong in the pointer.maybe it points to a
wrong address.
p.s. It is not crash in the m120.
I wish someone could give me some advices to solve this issue.

The @since tags in the IDL files in offapi, which were added in CWS
xmlfilter02 must be updated for the OpenOffice.org version number.
Those @since tags are marked as

  @since CWS xmlfilter02

Please note, that this can only be done after the OpenOffice.org
version is known, where this CWS is integrated.

This looks like the dialog item converter expects the regression curve (or the
series?) to be a filled data series (like the series of a bar chart).

Please see issue 75803 for context.

Calling SfxShell::ExecuteSlot() for a slot that is not supported by the called
shell leads to a crash caused by the access to NULL pointer:
SfxShell::ExecuteSlot(SfxRequest,const SfxInterface*) in shell.cxx, rev. 1.19,
line 1010, pSlot is NULL

This should be made more robust.

I think this should be handled by the XTransferable of the embedded object. It
looks like all OLE objects currently only support GDI Metafile. As we can
convert a Metafile into a Bitmap internally, we should think about offering a
Bitmap format (in addition) for the clipboard for all OLE objects, as this is
more common for other applications to accept.

-MAV: Am I right that this is an enhancement for OLE-objects in general?

[graphics-issues] [Issue 75803] Crash when inserting slide in outline view

2007-03-28 Thread af

--- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Mar 28 09:29:21 +

The different behaviour is caused by the stack of view shells that is different
depending of which pane has the focus.

When the slide sorter in the left pane has the focus than its shell is on the
top of the shall stack. This shell is then called to handle the SID_INSERTPAGE
slot.

When otherwise the outline view has the focus (as is the case after switching
into outline mode) then the shell of the task pane is on the shell stack and is
located above the shell of the slide sorter. Therefore the task pane shell is
called to handle the SID_INSERTPAGE slot and the crash occurs as described
above.

The task pane is hidden and therefore its shell should not be on the stack. In
this case the slide sorter would handle the SID_INSERTPAGE slot regardless of
where the focus is.

The actual crash takes place in the SFX. I have filed issue 75813 for this but
note that this is a secondary problem. The shell of the task pane, or to be
more precise, the LayoutMenu should not dispatch any slot in the first place.

OOo Writer has versions to save and load for a long time, but the drawing
application does not have it (the option is grayed-out in the file menu).
Amazingly what the team made for one part seems so hard for the other: Can't all
applications have versions in the file format? I'm specifically talking about
drawings, but maybe the spreadsheet could benefit from that as well.

To make it more clear I will list the problems again in descending order of
severity:

1. The main problem is that the shells and sub-shells of the task pane are still
on the shell stack when the task pane is hidden (which is the case in the
outline mode).

2. The handling of the SID_INSERTPAGE does not follow standard procedures. I
will have a look to whether that can be cleaned up.

3. The least problem, but the one that actually causes the crash, is the SFX
that blindly dispatches the SID_INSERTPAGE slot and, when it does not find it,
just issues an assertion but accesses the NULL pointer of its internal slot data
anyway and crashes.

Hi,
thanks for answering.
To be sure: the text in the note is not erased. Later, when you leave the frame
of the note, you'll see the text again. But the problem is that you cannot edit
the text while typing if the text flows to a new line, or when you ENTER or
resize the frame.
In the attachement I just have sent, you can see the following:
- in the first note (above), I typed a text without ENTERing or resizing, etc.,
and then left the frame of the note. You can see the text.
- in the second note, I typed the same text but then I ENTERed and you cannot
see the text in the first line anymore. Later, when you leave the frame, the
complete text will appear again (as you see in the first note), but if I try to
edit the note (with Show Note) I'll get the problem again.

Good idea to save as embedded objects over a context menu or a main menu.

But the choice of the clipboard format souns a little bit to freaky. I doubt
we'll implement it...

Footnotes are not searched with sdi-file for concordance - not even in OOo

Your concordance algorithm is very fast and I'm working with ciritical editions

As soon as you save a file the version entry under File... gets activated and
you can save versions. This works in Calc,too. If you still have problems to
work with this please add a detailed description of your steps how to reproduce
this. Thanks in advance.

Environment: openSUSE 10.2, + KDE as supplied all fully patched

Data:
1. The supplied (patched) OpenOffice 2.0 works as expected.
2. After patching to 2.1, the menu and dialog fonts changed to all an uppercase
only gray san serif of some kind. (I can send screen shots if required.)
3. If you log into another window manager, say WindowMaker OO 2.1 works
correctly

Tentative conclusion: This is an OO/KDE issue.

4. For what it's worth, I completely removed OO from the system (including
~/.ooo-2.0), reinstalled 2.0 from the DVD. The problem occurred here too! It
seems that the update process to 2.1 changed some KDE setting That I have not
been able to locate. Meanwhile the updater has reverted OO to 2.1, which I am
retaining.

Yes, the calendar calculation should generate an error for years after 32767,
and a minus sign should be displayed for negative years. However, if the number
format uses the 'GG' format code, the era (BC/AD) is displayed. Date input does
not take more than 4 digits for years, this seems to be a restriction dating
back to when the DateTime class was used for analyzing the input, which doesn't
handle that. Should be aligned to accept signed 16-bit values as well.

Oliver,

I tested your patch, and everything seem ok for me ( wizards, Base - just
started - )

Short patch, big effects : thank you very much : ! :)

@pavel : maybe we could resync with a recent milestone, then Oliver will adapt
the patch to the last
changes in desktop and instsetoo_native (macosxversioning cws or something) ?

P.S. : for native menus, just comment Pavel changes in
vcl/aqua/source/window/salmenu.cxx

Dindy,

The LANG variable has a low precedence and may get overridden by the LC_ALL and
LC_CTYPE (which itself may be overridden by LC_ALL again) variables. Check with
the command 'locale' if these are set to a locale that has a different decimal
separator. Set here means that the actual environment variable is set, the
locale command in that case displays the value without quotes (), as opposed to
a quoted value that designates an inherited value from the actual locale
selected. You may also check using the commands echo $LC_ALL respectively
echo $LC_CTYPE where any output means it will override your LANG value.

  Eike

Hello Eike,

I'm not sure I completely understand your request. BTW the locale command by
itself gives the following output:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# locale
LANG=en_US
LC_CTYPE=en_US
LC_NUMERIC=en_US
LC_TIME=en_US
LC_COLLATE=en_US
LC_MONETARY=en_US
LC_MESSAGES=en_US
LC_PAPER=en_US
LC_NAME=en_US
LC_ADDRESS=en_US
LC_TELEPHONE=en_US
LC_MEASUREMENT=en_US
LC_IDENTIFICATION=en_US
LC_ALL=

Instead the locale command with the same env variable as OOo gives the
following output:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# env LANG=[EMAIL PROTECTED] locale
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
LC_CTYPE=[EMAIL PROTECTED]
LC_NUMERIC=[EMAIL PROTECTED]
LC_TIME=[EMAIL PROTECTED]
LC_COLLATE=[EMAIL PROTECTED]
LC_MONETARY=[EMAIL PROTECTED]
LC_MESSAGES=[EMAIL PROTECTED]
LC_PAPER=[EMAIL PROTECTED]
LC_NAME=[EMAIL PROTECTED]
LC_ADDRESS=[EMAIL PROTECTED]
LC_TELEPHONE=[EMAIL PROTECTED]
LC_MEASUREMENT=[EMAIL PROTECTED]
LC_IDENTIFICATION=[EMAIL PROTECTED]
LC_ALL=

This means that the env command actually completely changes the locale
settings, as expected, isn't it?

Let me know if you need further tests.

Bye,

a possibly related effect. The performance has decreased so the test only
completes when stepping through manually.
