Norbert,
please provide step by step description to reproduce the problem.
Thanks.
\end{quote}

Dear kpalagin!

Just select the last word before a paragraph mark, then activate Capitalise
(recommended to put it globally onto Shift+F3, where old DOS-Word did the
same) and the line break should insert itself, with the selection souurounding
the chosen word and the line break.

It taketh no more efforts to reproduce the bug. ;-)

Kind regards

Norbert Grün

I checked with 2.3.1 Multilingual German version WIN XP: [680m9(Build9238)]:

1. Opened new Spreadsheet
2. Created some data (pls. see sheet 1 in mytestsource.ods, also
   for further steps)
3. Created a pie chart
4. ESCESCESC
5. single mouse click on the chart
6. Menu Edit - Cut
7. Chaneg to Sheet2
8. Menu Edit - Paste
   New chart appears
9. ESCESCESC
10. Click on Tab Sheet2
11. Right click on Tab Sheet2
12. Context Menu Move / Copy sheet
Dialogue appears
13. Set pulldown 'To document' to - new document - (- move to end position-
Check Copy
14. Press OK
Expected: new Document with Pie chart in it will be created with link to
  data source in mytestsource.ods or data packed to chart image
  (As it will be done when you copy a chart to a WRITER document),
  because no other one can be available in the new document)
Actual: Chart looks fine, but when you doubleclick on image to check the
Data source, the graph will disappear, and the data information in
context menu 'Data Ranges' wil be empty (currently I can not
confirm
linked to old document).

The problem only appears if the chart is not on the same sheet as the data
source
That is the same behaviour as when you copy paste a chart to a new spreadsheet.

I see this as an ENHANCEMENT, a selection whether chart-data should be linked to
old document or be packed to chart image might be useful.

No Idea whether this the same problem as the reoporter wanted to describe.
Pretty sure that my bug exists for all OS

Related to  Issue 82614?
Related to  Issue 78080?
Might be fixed with Issue 85304?

I checked with 1.1.4 (German) WIN XP: [645m52 (Build 8824)] and found the same
behaviour.

My opinion.
I use text-based input method and this way is for me faster than using
keyboard-mouse-keyboard-mouse. I've spent only about two hours to learn OOo
Math basics. I make several documents with equations and I say, that
command-line method is for me better, than GUI input, for example, in MSEE. Just
two hours of learning, men, just two hours - and it will be OK.

On the other hand I understand, that the GUI input will help people, which wish
to migrate from MSO to OOo.

So I think, that command-line input must exist ever and GUI input is a useful
feature for immigrants.

Indeed, I found out in between that it is a sequence, that caused OO to
produce an error.
Somewhere on W3 (would have to search for it) there was a description how to
directly route the fax number in the document to the printer, when using OO:

Fax: @@#+49 – faxnumber @
Gesamt:

The characters @@ where in white (to make them invisible), but caused the
converter to fail.
I tried the documents with OO 2.3.1 and could not reproduce the problem
anymore.

Yes, issue 2864 comes to the same two conclusions: a) LaTeX-style formulas would
improve OO and b) OO should provide inline-formulas to ease formula creation in
middle of the text without need of using the mouse.

There is no default for draw:fill exported and there is no default documented in
the OpenDocument format. Currently OOo assumes it is solid.

This has an ugly side effect. The automatic style of draw pages can contain an
option background filling that overrides the background filling of the master
page. For drawing pages without this background filling, there is no
draw:fill=none exported by OOo. Loading such documents and assuming that
draw:fill default is solid, all drawing page get their own background filling
(which is wrong)

When a table was dragged from Navigator to document (Drag Mode: Insert a Copy)
all previous undo/redo history was cleared.
Step to reproduce:
1) Create a new document in Writer
2) Type a text (Edit Undo is now active)
3) Insert a table
4) Save document
5) Open Navigator, set table Drag Mode to Insert a Copy and drag the table on
document
6) Defect: Edit Undo is now disabled and a new section was created in the
document (why?)

Best regards, and thanks for yous support.

Up to version 2.1 of OpenOffice, the ZWSP character (Zero width Space u200B) was
usable as a word separation character for purposes of line-breaking and
spell-checking. it is used in languages that do not use spaces to separate words
(Lao, Khmer, Burmese)

In OpenOffice 2.4 it no longer works for spell-checking. Words separated by a
ZWSP are considered as one word. It works correctly for line-breaking.

Nemeth Lazlo mentioned in th elist that this is probably a tokenization problem
inside the ICU library, as ICU is the one that divides the text for analysis by
Hunspell.

The issue is probably related to the upgrade to the new version of ICU after
OOo 2.1

I am attaching two pictures, one for O0o 2.1 and one for 2.4. They show the same
texts, in Khmer and English, separated by ZWSP and separated by spaces. In the
2.4 graphic we can see that when we separate with ZWSP, then the text is
considered as incorrect. I the 2.1 graph we can see that the text is considered
correct in both cases (spaces and ZWSP).

PowerPoint has the ability to automatically adjust font size of a text to fit in
a fix sized textbox. OpenOffice can only scale the text thus loosing font aspect
ratio.
This missing feature generates a lot of meaningless formatting work.
I have found related issues for the 1.x series.

I think this is another duplicate to
http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=7553
which is partially fixed in version 2.4.

Fortunatly version 2.4 (build m242) opens the file just fine with Internet
disconnected.

Sergey,
please try latest developer build from
http://download.openoffice.org/index.html and report results, closing your
issue if it works good.

Also, please join Russian-speaking community at http://community.i-

Confirm with OOo 2.3.1 on OpenSUSE 10.3.

If I'm inserting new footnote then cross-reference's target updated, but
cross-reference's value not updated (should be value “4” but shows “3”.)

open source Dia project has very simple drawing of UML. If draw could just
make the same shapes it'd be much better since it'd be in the draw application.

[sc-issues] [Issue 84414] Formula bar: ability to se t default date format on formula bar

--- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Jan 20 18:04:55 +

I agree that this issue needs to be tested after 51662 gets fixed.

I am having similar problems on an Ubuntu machine running KDE. Calc does not
respect the locale's LC_TIME setting for date formatting in the edit bar. Dates
are always formatted MM/DD/ regardless of locale.

In this example, I use locale en_DK.utf8 which has the date format -MM-DD.

$ locale
LANG=en_DK.utf8
LANGUAGE=en_DK.utf8
LC_CTYPE=en_DK.utf8
LC_NUMERIC=en_DK.utf8
LC_TIME=en_DK.utf8
LC_COLLATE=en_DK.utf8
LC_MONETARY=en_DK.utf8
LC_MESSAGES=en_DK.utf8
LC_PAPER=en_DK.utf8
LC_NAME=en_DK.utf8
LC_ADDRESS=en_DK.utf8
LC_TELEPHONE=en_DK.utf8
LC_MEASUREMENT=en_DK.utf8
LC_IDENTIFICATION=en_DK.utf8
LC_ALL=en_DK.utf8
$ openoffice.org2.3 -calc

Now, I select column A - Format Cells - Numbers - Category - Date - Format
- 1999-12-31. I now enter 2008-01-16 into cell A1 and hit enter. The cursor
moves to cell A2 and I see 2008-01-16 in cell A1. So far so good. Now, I click
on cell A1. The cell still says 2008-01-16 however the input line reads
01/16/2008.

The edit bar should format dates as they are formatted for display in the cell.
Failing that, it should display in the locale's preferred format.

Note: the problem _may_ be that Gnome's date format is not configured properly.
I use KDE on Ubuntu, with Gnome installed as the default desktop. However, due
to a poorly written ATI driver I cannot open Gnome and change the setting.
Googling and locating has not led me to discover which config file I should edit
in VI to change this setting. In any case, Gnome's setting should _not_ be the
deciding factor in which date format to use. Not everyone uses Gnome, and that
is specifically what LC_TIME is for.

apparently I missed 84414 when searching.

Patch attached. If I load the attached .odt with a graphic in it shows that the
first call of SwapIn sends an empty sequence to have a MemoryStream created from
it and then an attempt to load a graphic from that empty stream giving the

Quite probably. The configure test was boiled out of a test-case failure that
kendy provided on some particular open suse version. Perhaps he can tell us what
opensuse gcc compiler versions are known bad, and which known good on x86_64.

FWIW I don't see this as a blocker, as it only affects x86_64 and I believe some
particular slightly broken compiler version.

setup /a means administrative install, but unfortunately it checks the same
privileges - and i guess this one is a real bug.

but in general, it would be very nice if installing openoffice works like all
the other medium decent installers which let you choose between install for
all users (which needs sometimes admin privileges), and install for this
users (which never needs admin privileges).

verified.
Compiles with -Werror on Mac without a breaker. And as there are no changes in
the module at all, there's nothing else to verify :-)

fs: uhm, too new flex? Which flex versions *are* supported for building? If
the problem is known, why wasn't config_office changed accordingly?

Which flex does work? /me can choose between
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ apt-cache show flex | grep Version
Version: 2.5.33-12
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ apt-cache show flex-old | grep Version
Version: 2.5.4a-7

and I am sure some other distris don't even have flex-old anymore..

P.S.: I guess Mechtilde got her m3 from Pavel.

My parallel (-P2) build with the native W32 dmake 4.12 tripped the following
problem. See log below:

The problem appears to be this rule in odk/util/odk_rules.pmk:

$(DESTDIRJAR)$/com$/sun$/star$/lib$/loader$/%.class :
$(CLASSDIR)$/com$/sun$/star$/lib$/loader$/%.class
@@-$(RM) $(@:db)*.class
$(COPY) $(:db)*.class $(@:d)

The * in front of .class is wrong. For WinRegKey.class this also copies
WinRegKeyException.class. Without the * this can then be simplified to:
@@-$(RM) $@
$(COPY) $ $(@:d)

Is there a reason for the wildcard?

as the issue is uses with the bridges changes as well:

Changes in bridges module are OK as well, although I don't really understand why
 #undef NDEBUG is inserted right above
#define NDEBUG

Was that meant to be outside of the #if to undef it by default? In the current
form, it doesn't do anything useful, or does it?

I should have been clearer in the original post.

I'm using Ubuntu 7.10 and OOo version 2.3.0

The problem I notice is when copying sheets within a book. Say you want to have
a workbook that tracks sales for the year, in it, there is a sheet for each
month and a line graph tracking sales per week. Every month, instead of building
the sheet over, I just copy the last months sheet and enter the data for the
current month. The problem is that the chart in the copied sheet still
references the previous month and I must manually change the source data field
in the chart to the current sheet.

Thanks.

I have experienced some problems with some of my themes on ubuntu and
openoffice. Before it was crashing but this problem was fixed in the newest
version (I have the 2.3.0-1ubuntu5.3 right now)

I was trying to export some document containing some formulas that I created
with the Writter to some PDF file. The theme I had was 'Darklooks' at that time.
After exporting. I noticed that the PDF has some display issues ( the formula
were in light grey instead of black). Switching to the default 'human' theme
fixed the problem...but that's not the theme I wanna use! :)

Well, I don't see my previous posting, only the file that I sent Sun Jan 20
00:25:44 + 2008. This file was a newly generated Word 97/2000/XP format. I
don't know if the message I sent at the same time got through. Basically, this
is a new installation of OO.o, with just the vanilla settings. There were no
previous office products installed on this machine. I simply selected File-Save
as... then selected Word 97/2000/XP and saved it. No special settings. I have
sent similarly generated files to others who were also not able to open them in
an appropriate version of Word. I doubt that it would have any bearing, but I
installed OO.o on drive E: vice the more usual C:.

Hi Jeongkyu,

Your suggestions look fine. I ever attended a Chinese community IRC meeting and
find it is an effective way for discussion. Please go ahead with all your
meansures you mentioned.

Here I'd like to convey you some information about the next release OOo 3.0
which is one major release of OOo. Please get prepared.

Schedule: original start date is Jan/18. likely it will start around Jan/30. the
due date is not clear for now. I will keep you posted.
Volume: about 25000 words for the first handoff.
Pootle: this time we will use Pootle for file management. That is, we will use
Pootle for file distribution, file uploading/downloading, etc. I got from Aijin
that some of you already knew about it. For your preparation, here are the
links:
http://www.sunvirtuallab.com:32300/   OO.o/OS.o Pootle server
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Pootle_User_Guide   OO.o Pootle user
guide
http://www.wordforge.org/drupal/projects/wordforge/tools/pootle Pootle project
page

please get familiar with the user guide first, then let us know if you have any
questions.

Regards,
Joy

I am seeing this problem on 2.3.1 on Windows XP. soffice.bin and lsass.exe take
up 100% of CPU.

I let my system run overnight but no change. I could not use OO - had to kill
the process.

I get this problem whenever I open a Visio object and do a copy of a large
bitmap and then try to close Visio. It is totally repeatable on my machine.

Please update version to 2.3.1
