Why would initializeLoading want to overrule the arguments which do already exist at the model? Thinking more about it, I'd say this is the real bug: the load environment should *not* tamper with the media descriptor if there is a Model argument, i.e. the document is already loaded, and only to be plugged into a frame. fs->as: What's your opinion on this (see my previous comment for a more extensive error analysis)? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Make sure the AutoSpellcheck icon is activated on the standard bar. You should see red wavy lines under words it thinks are misspelled in the document. Place the cursor just to the right of the last period in the document on page 6. Hold down the "a" key on the keyboard to create a string of letters a line or two long. While you are holding down the "a" key you should notice that OpenOffice.org 2.x is stuttering every so often at seemingly random intervals. Now turn off AutoSpellcheck and repeat. The stuttering should now be gone. OpenOffice.org 1.1.5 will not stutter with AutoSpellcheck turned on. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [l10n-issues] [Issue 14069] Problems with placement of Hebrew vowels (nikud | diacritics) in Linux
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=14069 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jan 30 04:33:09 + 2008 --- yba->pueyo: There is indeed a dearth of OpenType Hebrew fonts with diacritics at this time. No one disagrees that at the present time this is a serious problem with Hebrew in OOo. However, this is an economic problem, not a software problem. It does not make sense to try to solve an economic problem by writing code, especially since there is no possibility of writing satisfactory code to solve what is in fact an esthetic problem. The appropriate technology to solve this problem is available in OpenType GPOS and GSUB together. Since I think that writing code to solve this problem is inappropriate, and that the resources to write and test that code should be spent on font enhancement, I do not agree that this is a feature enhancement, it's just adding cruft to OOo and delaying implementation of the correct solution. There have been many atttempts to write heuristics for Hebrew diacritic placement. I don't know of any of them that purport to be anything more than hacks or workarounds. As far as I know, only one of them was written since the publication of the OpenType standard. The best of these heuristics work only passibly well and only for diacritics below the line of the glyphs, not in or above the glyphs (CHOLAM, DAGESH), and they require fonts with an inordinate amount of space below the glyphs in order to trick the eye into thinking that the diacritics are placed correctly when in fact they are just centered below the glyph. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. But maybe, while implementing new notes, we can improve the filter a little bit in this area? - This issue deals whith 2 different problems. Ask if you need 2 tasks :) 1) Notes creation time, date and author get lost when saved to HTML (FEATURE). Writer "Notes" are exported as neutral comments ( HTML tag) to HTML. Everything which is not part of the note body (time, date and author) is not exported to HTML. -> it may be quite easy to export this information "as" note body whith special keywords and parse this keywords when importing. Example: A note is inserted by author Max on 29th, January 2008 at 23:00 with body "I am a note" The comment code could be: 2) The first note of an HTML document is destroyed when the document is edited by someone else as the author (BUG). Description: - New HTML document - Tools - Options - OpenOffice.org - User Data - Type First name: "Creator", Ok - Insert a note and type "This is a note" in it - Save the document - Tools - Options - OpenOffice.org - User Data - Type First name: "Review", Ok - Type something in the document - Save the document - Reload -> the content of the note is now "HTML: " instead of "This is a note". - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. This is perfectly fine, I would never vote to expend valuable resources on it. However I still think that this is a bug (enhancement bug at least?) that other word processors (even the humble gedit or abiword in linux, not to speak of MS Word in Windows) do not have. It is in fact possible to have decent nikud without proper font GPOS tables (pango does just that). There are not free/opensource Opentype Hebrew fonts with proper GPOS tables for nikud, so we can not use OOo to write Hebrew with diacritics in a truly free software environment (and that could be considered a bug). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [dba-issues] [Issue 85687] Event on dataform assigned to macro not called
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=85687 User fs changed the following: What|Old value |New value Assigned to|fs|mav Status|STARTED |NEW --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Jan 29 22:18:16 + 2008 --- fs->mav: That's a regression of your fix for issue 84941, I'd say. Before your changes, the macro execution mode was held in DocumentMacroMode_Data::nMacroExecutionMode, and initialized exactly once. Your change was to keep the mode in only one place, by introducing the "setImposedMacroExecMode" method. Which is a Good Thing, so far. What happens is something along those lines: - the form is loaded - during/after loading, the DocumentMacroMode::adjustMacroMode. It calculates the effective macro exec mode to be ALWAYS_EXECUTE_NO_WARN, which is correct, since the form itself does not contain any macros. - This mode is forwarded to the document, using the newly introduced setImposedMacroExecMode method. This results in the proper SID_MACROEXECMODE item being put into the object shell's medium's item set. - Now when we put the state of the embedded object to ACTIVE, then with the following stack: framework::LoadEnv::initializeLoading(...) framework::LoadEnv::loadComponentFromURL(...) framework::Frame::loadComponentFromURL(...) DocumentHolder::LoadDocToFrame(unsigned char bInPlace='Ü') DocumentHolder::GetDocFrame() DocumentHolder::Show() OCommonEmbeddedObject::SwitchStateTo_Impl(long nNextState=2) OCommonEmbeddedObject::changeState(long nNewState=2) , the macro mode is reset to NEVER_EXECUTE. Consider framework/source/loadenv/loadenv.cxx, lines 479ff, and lines 496f >From this time onwards, any call to the object shell's getImposedMacroExecMode will return NEVER_EXECUTE. Note that there has not been any change in the load environment between m4 and m5. That is, the framework always passed a NEVER_EXECUTE at this point. However, this never hit us, since the macro exec mode was cached in DocumentMacroMode_Data::nMacroExecutionMode, as said above. I am not sure what is the actual bug reason here - perhaps DocumentHolder::LoadDocToFrame should pass the current MacroExecMode of the document to the new loading call. More precise, it should probably obtain the current model args (XModel::getArgs), perhaps filter them, and then pass them to the loadComponentFromURL call, to ensure they're preserved. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [graphics-issues] [Issue 57093] spellchecker rejects good word after user splits incorrect word
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=57093 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Jan 29 21:47:01 + 2008 --- I was able to reproduce bug on OpenOffice 2.3.0/Linux OS. I found another variation of this bug that helps illustrate the problem. * Open OpenOffice. * Click “File” --> “New” --> “Presentation”. * Click “Create” in “Presentation Wizard” dialog box. * Select “Title, Text” from “Layouts” panel on the right. * Click on “Click to add an outline”. This will place a text cursor in the text box. * Type “viewdatastream” in the text box. The word, “viewdatastream” is underlined in red indicating a spelling error. * Place a space between “view” and “datastream”. * Next, place a space between “data” and “stream”. The words “view” and “data” are incorrectly underlined in red. In the above example, the sequence in which the spaces are inserted is paramount in determining which words are incorrectly underlined. For instance, if a space was inserted first between “viewdata” and “stream” followed by a space between “view” and “data”, then only “view” is underlined in red. From these examples, a general behavior can be observed: when splitting an invalid word(with a space) into two words, the word to the left of the space becomes underlined(regardless of whether it is a valid word or not) and the word to the right of the space is not underlined(if it is a valid word). This general behavior helps explain the variations in underlined words with respect to different sequences of space placements. Case 1: place a space between “view” and “datastream”, then place a space between “data” and “stream”: “viewdatastream” --> “view datasteam” --> “view data stream” (view and data are underlined). Case 2: place a space between “viewdata” and “stream”, then place a space between “view” and “data”: “viewdatastream” --> “viewdata stream” --> “view data stream” (only view is underlined). However, when using spell check via F7 or “Tools” --> “Spellcheck”, the incorrectly underlined words(data, view) are correctly ignored; furthermore, this bug does not occur in text documents. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. That is, the documentation consists of: - interface description - Methods' Summary - Methods' Details - Attributes' Summary - Attributes' Details (in this order) That means that for all but the most trivial interfaces, the interesting information, which would allow to get an overview with one look only, is distributed over the whole page, and most certainly not available without scrolling. Yes, I know there are quick links at the top of the page, but this is not the help here: The problem is not to quickly navigate to the respective section, the problem is to see all relevant information, in a condensed form, without scrolling and clicking. A better setup would be the following order: - interface description - Methods' Summary - Attributes' Summary - Methods' Details - Attributes' Details This would put the two summary sections below each other, which means that you can easily get an overview about the complete interface, without diving into the details, yet. The attached patch to autodoc implements this changed order. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. There are actually two problems here: 1) The security fix which introduced proper shell quoting broke the desktop specific -open-url invocation for paths containing any to-be-escaped characters (because an access(.. ,X_OK) is done on an already escaped file name). 2) kfmclient aka konquorer always opens local files (file://) directly, only http urls & co are passed to the default browser. But as the underlying UNO service is named "SystemShellExecute" and not "SystemBrowser", this behavior is perfectly valid (for that service implementation, not for the feature). So I add my preferred solution to the number of options above: 3. Create a dedicated url handler UNO service with the option to force the url to be opened in the browser (or mail client). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Tooltips in OpenOffice now have a light gray or white text against the standard yellow background, and are unreadable. Attached is an example. This doesn't appear to be a system issue, since all other tooltips are readable (black text against a yellow background). Switching to Clearlooks theme, the tooltips now display correctly in OpenOffice. However, changing the systemwide tooltips font color does not change the OpenOffice tooltips font color. Only the tooltips background can be changed. This leads me to believe that OpenOffice is using a different variable for its local tooltips font color setting other than the global tooltips font color setting. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [dba-issues] [Issue 85663] OOo crashed when setting p age format in SRB 1.0.2

I could reproduce this in an internal build, too. The extension actually contains Java code only, and it is pretty damn hard for Java code to really *crash* OOo, so chances were high it was /not/ the extension. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=85690 Issue #|85690 Summary|RAND() Rounding off Component|Spreadsheet Version|OOo 2.3.1 Platform|PC URL| OS/Version|Windows XP Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|code Assigned to|spreadsheet Reported by|player001 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Jan 29 19:24:34 + 2008 --- It seems that Calc doesn't manage to compare exactly a rand() value to a number equal or lower than 1E-6. Indeed, the rand() used to compare looks rounded off in a too high number. Let's take: p=1E-7 in Cell B1 enter in A1: IF(RAND()<$B$1;1;0) Copy-paste until A1 Set Cell A11: =Sum of the numbers below Now let's update the page with F9. You must notice you have about a "1", in the sum, every 10 tries. Nevertheless, we should have, in the average : 1*1E-7=1E-3 which is to say we should only have one match for 1000 tries. You'll notice that using p=1E-9 or 1E-10, or whatever lower, gives you, in the average, such results. In Basic this loop generates the same results: For i=1 to 10 000 'or as much as you want If RND()<1E-7 Then m=m+1 'i choosed m cause I used that loop to calculte the number of mutations given by bacterias with a p rate very low End if Next i I checked out that defect with another version (2.3.0 English), on another computer (still XP). The defect must be due to rounding off errors as I've ever heard, alas ! that Calc had had difficulties rounding numbers close to the digits limit (cf. Euler Estimate). PS: I apologize if it seems confused due to my english, just ask me. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The difference is that you can use a range of any other table with at least one matching column name as the filter criteria. That list can have as many entries as a table can hold (not limited to eight like OOo). Furthermore you can use formulas as filter criteria. Therefore, I suggest that OOo add the ability to use a range of any other table as the filter criteria and the ability to use formulas as filter criteria. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [framework-issues] [Issue 85688] Solaris paste produces gib berish after upgrade to OOo 2.3.1
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=85688 Issue #|85688 Summary|Solaris paste produces gibberish after upgrade to OOo |2.3.1 Component|framework Version|OOo 2.3.1 Platform|Sun URL| OS/Version|Solaris Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|ui Assigned to|tm Reported by|afeldt --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Jan 29 18:59:31 + 2008 --- After upgrading from OOo 2.2 to 2.3.1, the standard mechanism for pasting into either a writer or spreadsheet document no longer functions. To be precise, using the left mouse button to select text (say from a terminal window) and then using the middle mouse button to paste into an OO document produces what appear to be random 8-bit characters instead of the expected text. If one instead uses the 'Copy' and 'Paste' buttons on the Sun keyboard, the paste produces the expected result. One can also use the 'Edit' -> 'Copy' tab and then the 'Paste' tab in the respective windows to obtain a cut and paste. However, our users complain bitterly about the awkwardness of these workarounds. This worked just fine in the previous version of OO. This is on Sun sparc machines running Solaris 8. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
