With OpenOffice.org 2.3 on a PC with Window XP Media Center Edition 2002 Service Pack 2 with processor speed of 1.58Ghz and 1Gb of RAM. Some of the steps in the reproduction procedure will sound strange but it's worked in reproducing the bug for me and I have done follow-up tests that justifies the need to do the steps, but for now please bare with me. Procedure to Reproduce: 1. Download the original document attached by the original poster (attachment id=48606) 2. Open the document and goto the top of page 2/23 You should see three columns of text. 3. Click after the end of the text of the right-most column. 4. Position your fingers at keyboard position 'asdf' and 'jkl;' with your left hand and right hand respectively 5. Start mashing keys at random rapidly. What I saw was that my cursor jumped to the middle part of the rightmost column, if I continue mashing, my cursor jumps to the middle of the bottom most text area of the rightmost column. I did a few follow up tests that might make some more sense. The cursor did not jump with the following conditions: - if instead of mashing keys, you just held down a key, which justifies the key mashing - if you only mashed a single key, which justifies the need for the randomness. - if you pressed random keys slowly, which justifies the need to mash the keys rapidly. - if you only tried mashing keys randomly with one hand, which justifies the need to have both hands ready Other follow-up tests was that I tried positioning my hand in different places: - At step 4, position your fingers at keyboard position 'qwer' and 'uiop' with your left hand and right hand respectively If you start mashing here, you'll notice that instead of the cursor going down, it'll go up into page 1. - the bottom row of the keyboard doesn't seem to move the cursor at all - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. However, in an effort to find more files that have the same problem, to see what was common among all backgrounds that have this, I could not. I tried a lot the default backgrounds, including those of Microsoft ppt of XP and Vista. All of those backgrounds that I tried did not give those bugs. I had about a slide show of about 10 slides in it and had a few mozilla’s running. One mozilla covered part of the screen and the other the whole screen, then I minimized both, first the one that covered part of the screen then the one that covered all of it using the toolbar and left clicking then minimizing. The mozilla that covered part of its title was still visible on Impress. However, I don’t think this was any doing of Impress. I think it had entirely to do with my Linux at that time and how much space I was taking up. Also I was using 2.3.0 build. I was working in an environment that gave me about 150 MG, and about 149MG was occupied at a high congestion time in that network. The fact that I couldn’t do the exact same thing again with the same windows is obvious that it’s really hard to reproduce. Hello,
I am using OO to convert PPTs/ODPs to multiple PDFs(generating a pdf per slide
of PPT). I use C# as my programming language. I use this utility from a
windows service to convert PPTs to PDFs and I always make sure that OO is not
called from multiple threads. I have written the following code to do so. but
when ever i try to dispose/terminate some thing(such as xcomponent/xdesktop
object) OO hangs. Please note that this code is working on Windows XP and
problem occurs only to Win2K3. I have looked into bug 79541 as well but this
does not help either because the hang seems like OS specific now.
I have tried using XCloseable's close as well but it also hangs.

It seems the languages are similar are enough to confuse language guessing. Also I think it must have relation with issue #74389. 1- start new Writer document and add some text 2- choose File|Templates|Save 3- select a name in the list Categories (left) 4- enter name 'tstMysteryTemplate' in box 'New template' and click OK 5- close file 6- Ctrl-Shft-N 7- Choose tstMysteryTemplate and click Open 8- Make some changes 9- choose File|Templates|Save 10- select 'tstMysteryTemplate' in the list temples left, now the name appears in the box 'New template' 11- click OK and choose Yes to replace. 12- Ctrl-Shft-N 13- You can see tstMysteryTemplate there. So far so good. 14- Now choose File|Template|Edit 15- You can see tstMysteryTemplate and tstMysteryTemplate1 there. Not as we expect. 16- Furthermore, if you do the same exercise, tstMysteryTemplate1 will be replaced by tstMysteryTemplate2. 17- if you do the same exercise again, tstMysteryTemplate2 will be replaced by tstMysteryTemplate1. 18- Just tried: doesn't matter if you start step 9 with a new document or a document from an existing template (that is how I stumbled over the problem, somewhere in the past, just because when there are quite some templates that you have to re-organize, File|Template|Edit isn't always the logic way).
