We found control cannot into cell correctly when its anchor type modified.

Steps:
1. Create a new text document
2. Insert a table
3. Enlarge row's height
4. Add a control and move control above the enlarged cell (as attached picture)
5. Set control's anchor type "as character"

Expect:
The control will be into the table cell which is under this control.

Actual:
Control will be into another cell.

A work around is to start unopkg with additional bootstrap parameters. For
example

unopkg -env:UserInstallation=file:var/temp/myuserinstallation
-env:UNO_JAVA_JFW_INSTALL_DATA=$$ORIGIN/../share/config/javasettingsunopkginstall.xml

The first -env causes that the whole user installation is redirected. The script
which invokes unopkg needs to make sure that the directory exists and delete it
later on. The second -env is to provide a location for the java settings. If you
run unopkg several times then use the same value (do not delete it). It causes
that the first unopkg searches for a suitable JRE, writes the settings to that
file. All other unopkg calls later on will reuse these settings. However, after
changing the directory structure of OOo, the URL is probably wrong.

This area has been reworked. Since the handout view only shows some kind of
schematic "master" view it makes no sense to show the preview there. The
handout view shows only the template that is used for the actual handout pages,
not the handout pages itself. You can always see only the first slides in 2.4
anyway thats why the previews were taken out. So now there are only the
placeholders of the slides visible.
Thanks for your help.

Confirming - as described.

>From i8857:
"at file offset 8 (zero based) there
is a 16-bit little-endian value telling the overall length of the
header, here 0x0483. The last byte of the header has to be a 0x0d,
which isn't the case here. The 0x0d is at offset 0x0480 instead, and
two more bytes follow to pad the header. Calc does check for the
presence of the 0x0d at the given offset, and if not found refuses to
load the file. The last instance in the chain is the Writer module,
which then loads the file as text. The database module however has a
somewhat more relaxed check and doesn't complain, so the file is
availabel as data source."

As obr indicated in issue 86080 we may just implement an option for the script
which does not affect the behaviour of --shared.
We need to think about Windows. Although it does not come with sudo, I am sure
there are implementation around which try to emulate it. If so, we'd have a
problem since there is no unopkg script on Windows

Extensions are identified by the extensions identifier (since it was invented)
and nothing else. We may expand this later to identifier + platform + locale.
The identifier is important,

-when installing another version of the extension. The Extension Manager will
not accept that both version are installed alongside.

-during the on-line update. The Extension Manager receives a list of all
available extensions from the repository and looks for extension with exactly
the same id which match those of the installed extensions.

If the identifier is not unique, say you have different instances of the same
logical extension which support different platforms, then the Extension Manager
may offer an extension as update which does not fit the user's platform.

Making the identifier unique can be done by putting the platform in the
identifier or anything else. However, this identifier must then remain the same
forever. Changing the identifier later, will cause that previous versions cannot
be updated (on-line) anymore.

6. Right click then copy
7. Switch to openoffice writer and paste

>From now with Ubuntu hardy (just release); writer will crash without any
wanring, recovering . With other distro (sidux) it stay for a while. Use Page up
/ Page Down scroll up and down about several times, Writer will crash and prompt
to recover the docs. From now on, everytime writer start it ask to recover and

Step to Reproduce
1)Open the attached file.
2)Select the last slide in slides pane, Tools->spellcheck(or press F7),
click “yes”.You can find the first slide is selected in slides pane,
click “resume” button in spellcheck dialog box. And pop-up the “spellcheck of
entire document has been completed” dialog box, and the last slide is selected
in slides pane. Click “ok”button , the second slides is selected .
The first mistake is that the first slide is not spellchecked .
If you click “ignore once” to end, pop up “spellcheck of entire document has
been completed” dialog box, and the last slide is selected. And click OK, the
third slides is selected.
The second mistake is the logic of spellcheck is confusing.

There is no information in Calc how many rows and columns are selected. For
example, if you have selected cells A4:A31 it would be useful to show the number
of selected cells: 28. So you must not count manually.

Suggestion:
Extend the "Name Box" of the Formula Bar with quantity information when more
than one cell is selected. If the cells A4:A31 are selected, the Name Box should
show "A4:A31 (28)". If the cells B4:E31 are selected, the Name Box should show
"B4:E31 (28x4)".

troodon->fme

It's weird because someone agreed to implement a the same word count method as
in Word, and Word has a very weird method :-).

*Only* the new bullets/numbers inserted at the end of a list are (not) counted
as you described in desc8.

Try it yourself :-). In a list with n items, delete the text of any item, but
not the item itself. That item won't have any text but the number/bullet will be
counted as a word.

Now try another thing. Insert a new item after any position < n (any except the
last one) but don't enter any text. That item will be a new empty item but the
number/bullet will be counted as a word.

The code has changed quite a bit in this area between the version where this bug
was discovered, and the version I had to work on. In my new code, this date
based grouping was not handled at all, so I needed to implement it to get it to
work properly.

Pootle server has all Chart Helpcontent translated for pt-BR.

However the page shown in the attachement indicates some strings were not
imported into the main help database.

Scrolling up and down with the button Page Up or Page Down works only the half
way in the first time. Any further Page Up and Page Down correctly scrolls a
whole page.

This issue occurs in Writer when viewing with (more or less) 100% zoom factor or
when viewing an entire page and then clicking Page Up or Page Down. Only the
normal view is affected, not the page preview.

It's annoying to have the half first and the half second page at screen and to
adjust that manually to see a full next page.

Suggestion:
Page Up or Page Down should ensure full page scrolling instead of half page
scrolling (always).

when focus is inside a note, paste special arrow next to the paste toolbar
button is not visible, therefore the toolbar jumps back and forth when switching
from document to note and the other way around

Fixing this would make the interface a lot more stable

Not an i18n / locale data issue, but UI localization instead.

If you use the "Find & Replace" dialog and if you select an item of "More
Options" (backwards, regular expressions, etc.), next time you open the "F&R"
dialog the "More Options" part will be not shown - but the item will be still
selected.

It is not visible to the user that the "More Options" item is still selected, so
it can (and will) be forgotten. Therefore the user can't find what s/he wants
and doesn't know why.

Suggestion:
Keep the whole "Find & Replace" dialog open as long as an item of the "More
Options" part is selected.

This issue occurs in all applications.

See $subject. Not perfect, as relative links don't roundtrip, but at least the
non-embeddedness of graphics survives.

Findings so far:

After switching compilers from wntmsci11 to wntmsci12 the dll
directxcanvas.uno.dll is not build anymore. For staroffice the dll
directx9canvas.uno.dll is installed, thats why staroffice still has DirectX
support. I checked in scp2 project and found no reason why
directx9canvas.uno.dll should not also be packed for OpenOffice.org builds.
Unless it is build with ENABLE_DIRECTX="". Have to check that with RE tomorrow.

So yes this is a regression since the switch to wntmsci12 and in my opinion a
show stopper for OOo 3.0 beta

How this doc was created.
Started last Saturday in 2.4.0
apr. 32 pages, quite some effects, timing etc.
That evening, I tried the same presentation in dev300_m5. Found some
differences.

After that, I opened and saved at random in both versions, making few changes,
deleting pages.
So maybe because of the slightly different file formats?

In cws odff03:

sc/source/core/inc/interpre.hxx 1.32.20.2
sc/source/core/tool/interpr2.cxx 1.35.20.2

Applied last patch as is, except that I added some spaces here and there for
readability ;-) between operators and variable names.

This includes returning values for roots < -1; plus accepting non-integer
PayType other than 0 or 1, with reservation to what the ODFF specification may
define in the end.

@regina: The test case document you attached in rows 9 and 10 has proofs with
comment "should be zero", but for various cases it isn't. I assume the "should"
is to be considered purely mathematical and the difference is within the error
margins of the algorithm used and acceptable?

One more question: does allowing PayType other than 0 or 1 affect the functions
FV, NPER, PMT and PV, would these have to be adapted? Currently they distinguish
between PayType > 0.0 and any other value to do different calculations, the
value itself is not included in the calculation.

Many thanks again for your work!

  Eike

Ok, one exception ...
Intel drivers updated ; win sp1>sp2; Dirx latest version.
Alas, no difference.

A presentation which was created with OOo 2.4 has been saved with Handout as
last view.
After opening the presentation with DEV300m10, the handout is empty.
Handout can be seen with OOo 2.4

The file has been sent to me with confidential data, but I'm allowed to send it

I'm not asked user list, but installed on another no x86_64, but 32 bit i586

32 bit versions of programs.
On that m10 works well.

Unfortunately, I haven't figured out how to recreate my problem and I can't
attach the documents as
they are confidential, but this has happened to me several times now (6-7). If
I figure out how to
recreate the problem I will pass information on.

We are using OO for all of our documentation and storing revs of documents
under SVN, so I have the
version prior to editing. During the process of editing the documentation all
of my pictures disappear.
Generally, during this time my Vista machine is running sluggishly.

When I untar the original document here are the contents

[gsl-issues] [Issue 88613] Canvas: cairo-based font r endering

Hi hdu, thanks for the comments. I also don't want this issue to become endless
tug war, so I just clarify some things. Note that I don't really have a perfect
solution to offer, neither I'm expecting the text layout to be solved anytime
soon.

...

Yes, the quartz failing is just a bug, and does not need the level of changes
that I'm describing here.

The core of the discussion is that OpenOffice.org has been and in many respects
is still not proactive in integrating with the other open source projects,
causing OpenOffice.org to remain a huge, non-shared (with other projects)
codebase. This means OOo needs to have e.g. it's own set of developers for all
of text rendering and fonts, because no other project is working on that code.

The reason for working with cairo based font rendering and layout is the same as
using cairo library anywhere in the OOo:

Yes, OOo could do everything by itself with directly using functions of native
platforms + OOo specific crossplatform layer.

However, OOo can also use cairo (among others) as the crossplatform layer, that
can REMOVE the code that OOo currently has. While it creates another layer of
API, if it (eventually) can become the only API (just like Mozilla Firefox 3
has), then the rest of the OOo code can be optimized for that API. And OOo
developers can also work with cairo developers to improve that library (which
already pretty good exactly thanks to contributions from MULTIPLE independent
projects).

=> more shared code, less OOo-specific code.

...

For graphics rendering cairo is the unquestioned choice. It seems to be a good
choice for font rendering too. To me, text layout is completely unknown area. I
do know that pango nowadays uses harfbuzz, which is a collaborative project
between Gnome and KDE. So that's pretty good coverage on UNIX/X11.

However, high quality crossplatform support is the key here. Only X11 is not
enough.

...

So currently I'm targetting just font rendering, and hoping a good layout
solution comes up some day.

And I'm not saying things cannot go to the other direction too. For example on
UNIX, hunspell has originated from inside OOo and now distributions are
standardising on it, and replacing the aspell/pspell/myspell alternatives.
That's not crossplatform, but it's a nice step forward.

If OOo's text layout is superior to others, why not create a crossplatform
textlayout module -- with "libtextlayout" -library that can then be used by
other projects (and is nicely isolated for OOo)? It would need to become an
independent hunspell-like "sourceforge" project (i.e. outside of OOo CWS hassles
and schedules) to truly enable sharing and collaboration.

...

Open source gives best results when you are proactive with ways of sharing and
collaboration.

At this point the printed document will insert spaces into the word following
the number.

Example of view on screen:

Opened .odt file Research Plan citations.odt (same file as in Issue 88705),
selected all text and copied to paste buffer.

Typed XXX in new write document, then pasted saved paste buffer, and
saved it as file test2.odt. Before it was saved note that the pasted text is
almost the same as the text selected in first file except mysteriously the name
at citation [10] L. Liu has been underlined. I didn't touch the pasted text.

I'd like to propose a break up of the "Selection" window into toolbars for
usability reasons.

I think it would be very helpful for day to day working with the formula editor,
to have the ability to dock the content of the selection window like a toolbar.
May be what I'm actually asking for is a way to dock that window.

However, I could see a break up into one toolbar for each tab on the selection
window. Alternatively, there could be a master toolbar, with sub menus one sub
menu for each tab in the selection window.

This would make the user interface for the stand alone equation editor (Math
application) much more obvious.

Thanks for consideration.

Here[1] is where the error message comes from, but the fact of the web is to
make silent compromises for MSIE because it's worth reaching its users with your
message. Then, maybe they will eventually be open to using a "better" browser.

[1] http://why.openoffice.org/ie6.js

why.openoffice.org is one of the primary links from http://www.openoffice.org
and MSIE is very popular, so this is important.

Let's not just preach to the choir and exclude what is probably the single most
popular browser.

1. Visit http://why.openoffice.org in MSIE6
2. See error:
"Your browser cannot display this site correctly - please ask your vendor for an
upgrade"

I confirm the original report from here:

Working with a .doc file, part of text in blue and underlined. Changed to
black, removed underline, then underlined the part of text which is a URL link
(I don't want it to be an active link, just underlined text). Save it. Then
reopen it and changes have not been made.

Save the unmodified .doc file as .odt. Repeat above steps as .odt file. When
reopen it changes have been made.

However take the .odt file, open it and save it as ver2 in .doc format and
changes are undone.

Will attach 3 files: Research Plan citations.doc, Research Plan citations.odt,
Research Plan citations ver2.doc

khong: seems that my mail notifications arrive with large delays so I overlooked
your last comment.

For Writer it's important that we do line breaks in the same way as Word if
possible. If work doesn't break at a "minus" sign we shouldn't do it also (and
IMHO this is better BTW, breaking at the "minus" looks ugly).

If that means that Calc/Draw/Chart have a problem we perhaps should make that
configurable. Or we could declare the behavior in 2.2 as buggy and say that
Chart does it right in 2.3. :-)

TypeDescription.calculateTypeArguments does not handle the case where several
type arguments are the same correctly, because it eliminates duplicates.
This is caused by using TypeArguments.List instead of java.util.List.

(this is actually why my unit test crashed: it uses Pair)

Thanks for the detailed information: I will forward this within Sun.

But to me it looks like there must be another problem affecting delivery to
addresses outside of the sun.com domain.
The address mailtest [at] ooo.services.openoffice.org doesn't receive any email
from lists or forwarded for user stx032.

More precisely,
PDFI_IMPLEMENTATION_IDENTIFIER="org.openoffice.PDFImport-$(PLATFORMID)"
mainly because including $(PLATFORMID), is unclear for me.

maybe a stupid question:
why hasn't the PLATFORMID been defined in the according platform makefiles in
solenv/inc?
no additional platform checks required, central place and just one more variable
to define when introducing a new platform.
would have been even less work to introduce...

When you close out of your last document OOo 3.0 now displays a wonderful new UI
which displays all of the available options. They can immediately click open a
new document in any of the modules.

The lower icons have tooltips, but the upper "Writer, Calc, etc" do not. The UI
is pretty easy to follow, but tooltips provide a consistent method for users to
figure out what will happen when they click on the icon. I can't think of
another place where a button doesn't provide a tooltip in OOo.

Thanks for consideration.

It seems that we are somewhat stuck here. I think the target should be moved to

Open Office 2.4.0 BASE

FORM design: more controls --> Numerical Field

Issue: "bad" behavior when entered value exceeds Value max. or Value min.
limits

If the data entered in the Numerical Field is beyond the defined max or min
limits, the stored data value is set to either the max. or min. defined value.

Ordinarily, out of range values should generate some type of complaint to prompt
the user to re-enter a correct value.

Thank you!

~Derek
