Allowing a field in the text box would be extremely useful, as it's the only way
to get mail-merge to use angled text.

The suggestion in (duplicate) Issue 91545 seems ideal to me; logically, a
single click on the Dock icon,
when no windows are open, should/could present the Start centre.

Hi,

imho the issue should be assigned to the zotero implementer (or marked as
invalid) . Just downloaded the extension from

http://www.zotero.org/documentation/openoffice_integration

there are just 15 lines of python code, the relevant three lines are

h1=httplib.HTTPConnection("127.0.0.1:50001")
h1.request("POST","",q,headers)
response=h1.getresponse()

, so the extension does a RPC call to some server, the RPC Call does not return
for whatever reason and thus blocks the office.

Bye,

Joerg

For some reason, Impress uses white as the default font color during template
import, which is odd since the default background color in OOo is white which
_should_ imply that the _default_ default font color ought to be Black.

The import function in OOo should read the backgroun color for the slide and in
the cases where it's not explicitly set as part of the font definition in the
presentation file, use a contrasting color (white -> black, red -> white, blue
-> white, etc) for the font.

I can confirm the problem on german Vista Business 32 bit using OOo 3.0 beta.
Problem does not exists on XP Prof 32 bit.

Maybe it is a problem with vistas own open/save-dialog, because switching over
to OOo's own open/save-dialog fixes that problem!
To do so, open OOo, open preferences, goto Openoffice.org -> General and enable
the checkbox next to "use openoffice.org dialog" (or something like that; I have
the german version of OOo here).

@kohei, cool thanks! Some hints for the implementation:
There is already a property that is very similar implemented to what we need
now. It is the check box 'show bars side by side' on the options page in the
series properties dialog for bar and column charts. So it can serve as example.
In the UNO API we need a new property at the diagram maybe 'DisplayHiddenCells'.
The stable ::com::sun::star::chart API is implemented in
chart2/source/controller/chartapiwrapper. Add the new property to the
DiagramWrapper class (good example is 'GroupBarsPerAxis'). The inner chart model
uses not the old stable API but a new ::com::sun::star::chart2 API instead.
There we need to add the same new property at the 'inner' diagram class ( look
at chart2/source/model/main/Diagram.cxx).
In xmloff we need a new token 'display-hidden-cells'. And the new token must be
mapped to the new UNO property. Grep for XML_GROUP_BARS_PER_AXIS in xmloff for
an example. Thus the new property will be written from and to the file.
Now the new property must be transported to the view for display purposes.
Search for 'GroupBarsPerAxis' within chart2/source/view/ChartView.cxx to have an
example. The view does set the property from the diagram model to a view class
'VDataSeries'. We will need a new method SetDisplayHiddenCells(). VDataSeries is
the container for the differenet VDataSequence where we finally need the
property (you found the boolean bDisplayHiddenCells there already :-) ).
Finally the dialog related things are implemented in chart2/
source/controller/dialogs and
chart2/ source/controller/itemsetwrapper. All the ItemConverters within
itemsetwrapper serve the purpose to transport the UNO API properties from the
model object into SfxItemSets which is a typical input format for several
dialogs and tab pages. And vice versa of course.
I hope the hints are useful for you. Have fun!

you are setting the language at the specific position, the selection or for the
complete paragraph, so it is correct to get this dialog when you hit "more"

If you set the language of the whole document with Tools-Language-For all text
or hit "more" in this submenu, you get the correct tab of language selection

attached patch avoids the crash, but obviously it was unexpected that an empty

"If a lib isn't needed any more does it have any effect at all to still have it

anyway, should it?"

It would still get added to the link line
and be a dependency: http://udrepper.livejournal.com/19395.html and increase
even so slightly the size and startup time of the lib/application.

All I got left are voodoo programming suggestions of reordering the libraries
around a bit, e.g. moving $(SALLIB) to the end of the line and stuff like that

I am running Ooo 2.4.1 under opensuse 11.0 on an x86_64 AMD machine. I have an
nvidia graphics card (there are issues w/ the nvidia linux driver). The problem
described here occurs in Ooo 2.4.0 and 2.4.1, as well as the most current and
immediately prior nvidia driver (the one provided by nvidia itself, not the open
source driver) available for opensuse.

When running an OOo component, elements of the KDR taskbar (running apps, the
start menu, widgets) flicker from looking normal to being black or with some
bizarre colors when I move the mouse over them. In the upper-right corner of
the kde4 desktop there's an amoeba that activates the plasma dashboard. This
icon has the similar odd behavior. If I quit OOo, the problem basically stops.

The problem is much worse in oowriter than when running oocalc and ooimpress.
In the latter two, all that happens is a little space between open windows on
the taskbar blinks black. But w/ oowriter it's pretty bad.

I don't know if this is an issue w/ OOo, KDE4, opensuse, or nvidia drivers.
I'll let other know.

Thanks,
David Strozzi

@kohei, cool :-) . I created feature issue 91578 for the option to display or
not display values from hidden cells.
I think it would be good to have that feature and this issue be implemented in
the same CWS. I can offer CWS chart30. It's currently on dev300m23 with sc,
chart2 and xmloff added.

@kohei, yes for the file format we would need only a simple boolean. I think it
would be elegant to define the new attribute in parallel to the somehow related
attribute 'chart:treat-empty-cells' - having it in the style at the plot area.
Here is a first try for the proposal:

The chart:display-hidden-cells attribute specifies whether values from hidden
cells are displayed within the chart or not.
This attribute can be used within styles that are applied to a
element.
The chart:treat-empty-cells attribute may be used with the following element:

I am not sure about a default. In the past the behavior has changed again and
again.
Kohei, as you are on the TC list, would you mind to propose this new attribute?
With luck we can have it for ODF1.2 maybe. That would be cool.

Javier, as mentioned in a mail, please attach a patch for ICU 3.6 as that is
what we'll continue to use for OOo3.0; we'd need to declare this issue as a show
stopper then. We may need a different patch for ICU 4.0 later when we switch to
ICU 4.0 for OOo3.1, if there isn't an ICU 4.1 by then that would fix the ZWSP.

[graphics-issues] [Issue 91578] Display of hidden cells

In the user interface I could imagine a simple check box 'Display values from
hidden cells' or similar. Two possible places for the check box come to my mind:
1) On the 'Data Range' tab page - just below 'First column as label' maybe.
2) 'Options' tab page within the series properties dialog.
Issue 65549 in CWS chart22 does introduce the vaguely related setting 'Plot
missing values' exactly on the series options page.
So are there any user opinions about where to place the check box?

I've never been able to reproduce this, though I did try under qemu and solaris
intel 10. Given that the _exit works around, I sort of suspect a global object
dtor call on shutting down, where there is either something wrong with the order
of destruction or something of that nature. Following that theory, does it make
a difference to remove the icu lib now that it doesn't seem to be used by
HelpLinker anymore on the theory that it is a global object belonging to icu
that is the root of this ?

[graphics-issues] [Issue 28932] visibility of series from hidden rows or columns

Within the current version 2.4.1 or dev300m23 the behavior is completely
different. Hidden columns nad rows are always shown within chart. Issue 91578
will introduce an option to choose whether hidden cells should be displayed or
not. Then it might be worth to look at this update scenario again.
@joecoenner, would it be ok when I set this issue to duplicate and close it?

As one can see from the comments in this issue there are different wishes about
the behavior here. A possibility to choose the behavior will be implemented with
issue 91578.
In fact in the current version (dev300m23) values from hidden cells are
displayed.

With the sc patch, all loaded charts are updated on any change to the document.
Not just width or height changes, but also cell input outside of chart data
ranges. That can be a big performance problem.

The initial loading of a chart uses ScChartListenerCollection (mostly the old
chart's update logic), which already handles the case when columns/rows are
hidden. It would be better to extend that.

Some general comments:

- In the scope of using Lucene as indexer, the HelpLinker has been
changed (dev300 m22). A lot of code has been deleted. Unfortunately
this problem still occurs.

- To reduce the chance of breaking the block

#ifdef SOLARIS
if( !bExtensionMode )
_exit( 0 );
#endif

has been added to HelpLinker.cxx. To reproduce the problem and to
debug this block should be commented out.

- This problem does not occur always. Sometimes I changed something
and the problem didn't appear any more, I changed it back and the
problem came back, I did the first change again and the problem was
still there.

- The problem does occur both on Solaris Sparc and Solaris Intel.

- Stacks do not show the problem but only the consequences. E.g.
a stack found by gh showed a crash in addBookmark, but commenting
out all calls to addBookmark did not solve the problem. The stack
posted by kr on Jan 30 probably also is only one of many possible
stacks.

- kr once patched sal to use system allocation and the problem
seemed to be gone. I've tried this again and found that also with
system allocation the problem occurs. So this is also a dead end.

- It did not help to block optimization for HelpLinker.cxx and
HelpCompiler.cxx

- It did not help to only use a small number of xhp files.

- It did not help to avoid output to stdout completely (Ause
told me about problems he saw concerning using the out streams).

- It did not help to avoid all xslt operations.

It seems that the behavior for this scenario has changed several times in the

so it has become necessary to offer an option to choose.

You are right. To give you further information I tested the dummy odt I send to
you with an actual OOo distribution. with times the text seems to be the same,
but in arial I see a very minimal difference.
I' ve made a sendable version of the document, that does'nt contain confidentiel
information. In this documents you can see the differences better.
Maybe there is coherence with header and footer. But I don't know.
I send to documents and the pdf-versions from suse and windows. I hope that may
help more.

Thanks
Anke

a - sorry - I forgot to mention:

that when trying selfservice
neither the wiki-page (features) - nor the developer-page (release)
gives reliable informations - it is outdated or explains nothing,
it really has no acceptable quality standard.
that is why I set my complaint here

Please do. I'd like some hints. Regarding the required file format change, if
it's just one additional boolean property, then it should not be too difficult
to make a proposal to the ODF TC.

Hello there,

I am currently trying to insert hyperlinks into oo-documents (OO V. 2.2). I
started doing this using the (VIEW -> TOOLBARS ->) HYPERLINK BAR (that means:
after selecting the bit of text that I want to be hyperlinked to a website I put
a URL into the URL bar).
The problem then is: My URLs contain curly braces {} and a space. So whenever I
save a URL or click on the hyperlinked text again the URL in the bar gets messed
up in the way that the curly braces and the space are changed to ascii code, so
the link becomes useless.
(Also after converting the oo-doc into html, the URL remains messed up.)

After that I tried the INSERT -> HYPERLINK dialogue, which works fine (also
independently from the URL recognition being switched on or off).

So this is to let you know, that there seems to be something wrong with the way
the hyperlink bar works - at least with special characters.

Thank you for taking care of it,
Cornelia

==> mba

it is fun, that right of today the blog-summary planet-go-oo is answering, what
I had in mind "use Beta 2 - it is quite stable" (or at least should be)

it does not seriously belong to the issue-tracker, but thats a clear statement -
and may become a big-letter hint at the top of the snapshot-download-page.
And may be at the download-page the splitt can be made between the links to
branched-out betas and ongoing developement -

May be you are right, this are two points - one the easy way to find and follow
issues and its solutions, yes, that is more EIS-related - and two the testing.
But being frank, I accept to have some odds on the feature-frozen betas, but I
am no longer willing to use any of the "mainline"(DEV).

So I want to judge myself on the given infos (www) before download, and want to
have clear naming.
the example from my first entry just showed that even well trained users
sometimes do not understand, to which version an issue is adressd to (or
issuezilla is not uptodate at time of release of snapshotbuilds!)

Bytheway - reading your words to M.Hollmichel - there may be misunderstanding: I
am a user, with the intention to promote OO.o - so testing is done within real
and daily work, which gives a different approach, I do no want to use my time
for testing, I check if some problems are solved and want to use my time for
working - because I am not paid for sw-developement.

However, my conclusion:
The best would be to make clear headlines on the snapshot-download-page and to
splitt the download-option clearly to (most stable) betas and (experimental)
dev-builds.

Martin

been written is missing.
There should also be entries like:

2

Andale Sans

0

the breakpoints. :-(

- start office
-> get assertion about missing Launcher basic module

This is not always reproducible for reasons unknown, however as far as we found
out has its reason in two things:
- in scp2 there is still an entry that creates
/basis-link/share/basic/Launcher directory
- in /basis-link/share/presets/basic/scripts.xlc there still is a
Launcher entry.

I can confirm the issue. After changing the Font for Variables from Times New
Roman to Trebuchet MS (and making it bold), all that is written to Math.xcu is:

xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"; oor:name="Math"
oor:package="org.openoffice.Office">

for the current session, OOo remembers the settings, but after a restart, the
font dialog only shows emtpy listboxes, it doesn't now what font to chose
anymore.
