Actually, with the move to Solaris 10 as our Solaris baseline, I don't think there are any X11 based OS/desktop(s) left, which are supported but do not have a system libfreetype.so. Therefore I opened the CWS rmfreetype, which unfortunately was shifted to OOo 3.1 target. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=91889 Issue #|91889 Summary|Add ability to move a note by dragging and dropping th |e triangle insertion ("caret") point Component|Word processor Version|OOo 3.0 Beta 2 Platform|Unknown URL| OS/Version|All Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|ENHANCEMENT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|ui Assigned to|mru Reported by|samej71 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Jul 21 06:36:14 + 2008 --- (I am not sure I selected the appropriate subcomponent) There are times, after editing a document and adding/removing a significant amount of text, when a preexisting note no longer is in an appropriate location in a Writer document and should be moved. Right now, the only way to move a note is to select the character immediately after the note's triangle insertion point/sub-caret (I don't know what the proper term for it is) and then dragging that character to the spot you want the note relocated to. If the character cannot be used in the place you want to relocate the note to (because it is not in a word in that vicinity) you must edit the note, copy the contents to the clipboard, delete the note, create a new note in the desired location, and paste the clipboard back into the note. Having the ability to drag and drop the note's attached/insertion point without affecting the text in the document would be a wonderful feature. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. When using the API of OOo (for example within an extension or an external java program) and OpenOffice.org crashes under misterious circumstances this could the best way to isolate the problem and report issues with higher quality. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. For example, if I have the word "Discussion" and the text cursor is between the "u" and "s" when I insert a note. The entire word will get the red squiggly underline (because each portion isn't a recognized word). But I think, that a solution with expm1 and log1p would be better than cutting the series. I have not yet compared it, but calculating (1+r)^n-1 via expm1(n * log1p(r)) works for me. Such would increase the accuracy in other extreme cases too. For example RATE=1e-12, NPER=600, PV=-3000, FV=0 results in 4,9993660135E+000 but should be 5.150250E+000 (as MuPad and Gnumeric calculate). =PMT(4.567E-015;10;1000;0;0) is not OK. Opening a .xls spreadsheet that is never the case so I have to enable it always when I open a .xls spreadsheet using regular expressions. I became aware of this different behaviour when I switched back to using .xls for a spreadsheet that I originally created in the OOo 1.x .sxc format. So I guess this "feature" exists since the early 2.x versions when I started using .xls instead of .ods I don't know if checking this option causes problems with .xls spreadsheets but if that is not the case I would suggest to use the same default preferences as with ODF spreadsheets. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sc-issues] [Issue 91870] PMT function with extremel y small rates -> #VALUE!
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=91870 Issue #|91870 Summary|PMT function with extremely small rates -> #VALUE! Component|Spreadsheet Version|OOo 2.4.1 Platform|All URL| OS/Version|All Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|ENHANCEMENT Priority|P4 Subcomponent|programming Assigned to|spreadsheet Reported by|drking --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Jul 20 17:15:22 + 2008 --- The formula for PMT (payment at end) is [p(1+r)^n - f]r / ((1+r)^n-1) where n = number of periods p = principal (the capital sum borrowed) f = the final balance owing after n periods r = interest rate (fixed rate) per period derived here: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/How_Tos/Calc:_Derivation_ of_Financial_Formulas#PMT With extremely small values for r we get too close to divide by 0 Example: =PMT(1E-016;10;1000;0;0) gives #VALUE! Note that =PMT(4.567E-015;10;1000;0;0) is OK - larger, but with more displayed digits - so we have not run out of precision with the rate. Excel has the same problem, giving #DIV/0!. The solution may be to trap low values and apply another algorithm, also provided on the linked page. rate=0 is trapped anyway. This error will not arise in real life, so this should be low priority and I've marked it enhancement rather than defect. It is bad to have a function that can be beaten though, and there should be a record of the fact. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I'll post a patch, which will add the missing features. (see issue 90908 and others). In addition, I made the following changes: - I removed the autoextension check box, instead I let the file picker handle the extension. - I use IFileDialog::SetClientGuid(). The dialog will remember certain settings and the last folder location, depending on this guid. I associated a number GUIDs with the different template descriptions for the file picker. Different template descriptions are used for different file tasks in the application. Although not a perfect solution, e.g. the export file picker will remember its settings independently of the regular Save As picker. Of course these changes should be subject to discussion. Everything else should be more less straightforward implementation of the missing stuff. I hope that this will still go into 3.0. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Kinda mislead you. While I was enthused to download OOo, I haven't done so because of the following criticism in Wikipedia re OO0 Calc. At the bottom of the entry it states - "OpenOffice.org Calc has been criticized for: When editing a date, the date is displayed in US date format irrespective of the users' Locale, which is surprising given its international aspirations. Users can enter ISO 8601 dates, but may only edit them in another format." I've checked other links re this issue and there are quite a few with the same issue stymieing them. That's why I'm choosing to hold off until it's fixed. Were I to download it, my settings currently within Windows OS are: Regional and Language Settings - English (Canada) - which has its date values set to: Short Date: 20 Jul 2008 Long Date: Sunday, 20 July 2008 Perhaps if I were running Linux there wouldn't be an issue? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
