In RC1 sometimes when I type Ctrl C to copy the hour glass pops up and the application ceases to respond. Checking running applications does not indicate the OpenOffice has stopped working. It may be that after a period of time the application will start to respond again (I'm working and don't have time to wait all day and see). But, after at least 15 minutes the application continues to be unresponsive. I say application because it effects all OO documents/windows open. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. It does not fit in the window properly on my office computer. I can only see half of the percent box next to the zoom slider. The rest of that box is cut off. The rest of Writer's window fits fine. However, on my home computer, with a better resolution, the status bar is fine. I though you should be made aware of this problem. Test it on a monitor with a lower resolution setting. OTOH we need to cache the name as the object will be asked for it when it goes to DEFUNCT state where any call to the wrapped UNO object will just throw a disposed exception. I would expect obj->name to be initialized with NULL when the object gets created, but maybe that is no longer valid ? Create a new presentation 2. Go to the Notes tab 3. Start typing. The text is hanging-indented 4. Make a bullet, type, the text is hanging indented, then either delete the bullet by backspacing to erase it, or delete it by turning off bullets for that paragraph, and the bullet goes but the text is hanging indented. 5. Try the same in the slide itself and the text hanging-indents with the bullet and de-indents when you remove the bullet. 6. Similarly in writer, click on the bullets icon to create a bulleted paragraph, type and see that it is hanging-indented. Then click on the icon to remove the bullet and the paragraph de-indents. The bug in the old version appears not to reflect the default presentation of the bullet but instead reflects an inconsistent way of linking hanging indents with bullets. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I have - OpenOffice 2.4 installed once and had copied the jars to a folder called openofficejars. In my exe's I had the classpath of openofficejars instead of openOffice 2.4/program/classes - I have now changed that so I use the jars from the open office installation not copies. So there is only one copy of jars used and one copy of open office on the PC When I call soffice from say a command line to start office listening mailmerge works fine also if I configure the quick starter by changing the setup file - it works fine. The problem I have is when I call my start office .bat file from within my java app, mailmerge fails - everything else within office works. All that changes is where my start office .bat file is called. All I am trying to acheive is to re-start office from within my java app after refreshing documents and the odb file which is maintained seperately. I have confirmed that the problem still exists under 3.0.0 OOO300m5. It appears that it may be due to the fact that MS Excel will reach across open workbooks to find definitions of both NAME DEFINEs and VBA MACROS. If it is true that OOCALC cannot use VBA MACROS there should at least be a way to print them out from old Excel spreadsheets so one doesn't have to boot Windows (and Excel) (if one can even do so). I thought the entire point of Open Office was to not have to use closed source! And the reaching across workbooks for definitions is essential -- otherwise one could potentially have to enter hundreds (maybe thousands) of definitions in every single workbook which needs to use those definitions. And there isn't a way to copy (export+import) Excel or OO "name defines" that I am aware of. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Then, when a section (or any other objects in Writer which allow to be protected - when digging the code, I got the impression there's more than sections here) is un/protected, it should call this new method at all SdrObjects contained in it. However, I do not know whether this approach is feasible for Writer. Please advise. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Using default (native) dialogs. In "File -> Open" the checkbox "Readonly" appears in English in both the Italian version (where it should read "Sola lettura") and the German version (where it should read "Nur lesen"). Other localizations are probably affected by this too. The same problem appears in the "File -> Save as" option for automatic extension. A workaround is to use OpenOffice.org dialogs (disabled by default). Other, maybe related, problems with the file picker dialogs under Vista are described in issue 91869 and related. Perhaps you > start OOo from one installation, but your Java program is set up to use > unoil.jar etc. from another installation?" > > The answer is yes - is that what you mean by "instance" Okay, just to be sure ... - You have two OpenOffice.org installations - you start the first OpenOffice.org (in "C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.4") with the accept=... parameter - you start a Java program, which is set up to use the unoil.jar from the second OpenOffice.org installation (what version is this?) - This Java program connects to the running OOo instance by using the same connection string (I do not know where getRemoteServiceManager comes from, but be it for now ...) - in the Java program, the DatabaseContext lists you the wrong registered data sources Correct so far? Why I am asking that detailed: Connecting via Java to a running OOo instance and working with (not only) registered data sources is the daily food of quite a number of our test cases - if this would fail in the way you described, then this would have been noticed much earlier. So, there must be a difference between your setup and the setup we use for our respective test cases - and I'm trying to find out which one. One difference I see is that you use two OOo versions, so I'd like to stress this a little ... If you - start the second OOo version - via Tools/Options, register a few other data sources - close this OOo version - start the first OOo version - run your Java program which prints the names of the elements of the DatabaseContext , what is printed then? Does your program emit the names of all the newly registered data sources then? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The Creator looks fine. You don't want to be setting the Type on document files (like the creator007.odt in the screenshot) to 'APPL'; that Type is reserved for applications. If you can't set the right Type per document type (which is what I take "but we need to set them on the fly, what is not trivial (at least, I have no direct solution)" to mean, you should not set the Type at all, or use '' as the Type instead, and just set the Creator and fix only half of this bug. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=94049 Issue #|94049 Summary|Make it possible to switch between point and comma on |numpad. Component|framework Version|OOo 2.4.1 Platform|All URL| OS/Version|All Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|ENHANCEMENT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|code Assigned to|tm Reported by|linux_user --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Sep 18 16:26:01 + 2008 --- In The Netherlands we use US International keyboards. These keyboards have a decimal point on the numpad (shared with the Delete key), but we use a comma to for values like €1,95. In Dutch OpenOffice.org when you press the decimal point on the numpad a comma is inserted instead of a decimal point. That's great for typing numerical values, but it can also be very annoying. I don't type much numerical values. I type a lot of IP-addresses and the I don't want a comma, but a decimal point. Because I want to quickly type these IP-addresses, I want to use the numpas, but I can't, because I can't type a decimal point on the numpad. Another example is when I'm typing numbers of paragraphs. I want to be able to type "Paragraph 2.7.3", but when using the numpad I'll get "Paragraph 2,7,3". Some people use the comma a lot, others use the decimal point a lot. I'd be nice if we'd choose wether we want a decimal point or a comma being inserted when pressing the key on the numpad. It'd be nice if there were two ways to switch between the decimal point and the comma. 1. By clicking somewhere in the interface. 2. By using the keyboard for quick switching, a hotkey like Ctrl + Numerical point. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
