Hi
I found reason of this problem!
I have created a new template and used it as the default template and this
template 'Tahoma' font was default CTL font, Therefore when I open a new text
document the default CTL font (Tahoma) was reloaded. I deleted My template and
tested this issue again. The issue solved!

Hi 

We have been using XIndexReplacer to edit the Numbering Rules ( mostly to set
NumberingType, LeftMargin and FirstLineIndent). 

Actually we have been using it for some time already. And also different
versions of OOo (version 2.3, 2.4 and 3.0) with the Mac OS X, windows, and 
Ubuntu. 

XIndexReplacer is working very well for OOo2.3 and 2.4. but not 3.0. It has been
throwing IllegalArgumentException. I found this old issue 23300 very similar to
my case. Could you please check it.

number, it will turn to the allowed largest number.

fixed in koheiformula02 cws.  However, because we don't have a way to change the

OpenOffice consistently crashes when there are case sensitive files or
directories appearing under one same directory on an AFP (ours is v2.0.3)
mounted volume, e.g. arcsoft and ArCsOfT under the same 'Documents' directory,
the Open/Save navigation
with the Apple Native Dialogs, which is the default setting, will crash 
OpenOffice.

OOo builds for PPC tested are: 3.0.0rc4, m12, m38 and 3.0.1rc1.

Is that possible for anyone having a local HD formatted with case sensitive HFS+
to have a test on this? All my systems were formatted as case insensitive by
default.

works without issue. Odd. I wonder if it was an issue with the system copy &

Odd... I find that if I try on a new Calc spreadsheet I get the same as you.
However if I use an existing spreadsheet I cannot do this. I wonder if perhaps
the existing spreadsheet (an imported .xls) is the issue where by the cells are
formatted differently. I'll try to do some additional testing tomorrow & add
some screenshots. Thanks for testing on your systems.

I found that I did not have to enter any character into a cell in order to enter
text with new lines.  Just double click the empty cell (edit mode), then paste.

Works on OOO300m9 on Vista and a Ubuntu version of Linux (Progex), DEV300m35 on
Vista.

P.S. If you want to insert text with new lines into a cell with text, after
double clicking the cell, place the cursor where you want to insert the text,
then paste.

Your attached file  works fine for me. I have tested it with and without
hardware acceleration and with and without 3D view. My graphic card is a "NVIDIA
GeForce3 Ti 200" on WinXP home SP3. Do you tried it on PCs with different
graphic cards? Do you have got an actual driver for your graphic card?

Microsoft Windows XP Home SP2.
OpenOffice Impress 3.0.
Language: Traditional-char Chinese.

I have a file which:

1. Imported into OpenOffice Impress.
2. You find that one page (page 7) only having the title, and its content
is gone (blank).
3. This problem does not happen in OpenOffice Impress 2.4.  Page
7 is fine.

If you then use Microsoft Office 2003:

1. Remove the content text frame (which you can see) in page 7.
2. Continue to work with the file in OpenOffice.
3. You find that subsequent pages
(page 8 onwards) has most of the text in white
(some texts and bullets are not broken).  Some text are even
in shrinked (shrunken) size.

This is a proprietary file of about 700K in size, and I am

Create a new Draw document.
Draw two shapes, for example rectangles.
Draw a connector without contact to the shapes.
Drag one endpoint of the connector to one shapes' gluepoint.
Now drag the other endpoint to the other shape.
Notice, that you cannot drag or move the connector anymore.

That works correctly in OOo3.0, but is broken in my self build m36 and it is
broken in OOoDEVm37.

I'm not entirely sure whether or not I'm doing this correctly, but here is a 
small issue that was noticed by myself and another person. Below is the summary 
of the problem:

When attempting to use a degree symbol, by using ALT and a numerical code on 
the number pad, the degree symbol is inserted one character to the right from 
the cursor.

So, basically, we noticed on our version of Writer that if you want to put 
something like "it's 72* outside" (consider the asterisk a degree symbol), when 
entering the ALT code next to the 2, it would come out "it's 72 *outside".

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but it wasn't present in the pre-3.0 
version of OpenOffice, from what I understand. Hope this helps!

The problem is not with Impress OLE but with Draw OLE.

Create a writer document with dummy text. Insert the attached drawing as OLE.
Double click to edit mode.
Scroll the draw page, so that the drawing is in the left upper corner.
Drag the right edge and the bottom edge, so that the gray borders are near to
the drawing.
Leave editing mode.
Enter editing mode.
Notice, that you cannot access the horizontal scrollbar.

You can also use the attached Writer document, which has already got an embedded
Draw OLE.

The problem is in only with Draw objects not with Impress objects. In Impress
there is no problem, because the scroll bar always starts at the left corner.
But in Draw there is an area for the layer tabs and you cannot hide the tabs.
The scroll bar start after the devider. You can drag the devider to the left.
But when the OLE is to small, than the devider is out of view when you enter the
edit mode and you cannot access it.

I appears that one can paste newlines into Calc cells only _after_ there is
already text in a cell.

To reproduce:
1) Copy text containing newlines.
2) Paste into empty cell.
3) Observe that each line is in a separate cell.
4) Type a character into an empty cell.
5) Copy text containing newlines.
6) Double click cell from step 4 to activate text cursor.
7) Paste text into cell, after the established character from step 4.

What happens: The newlines are pasted into the cell
What I expect to happen: Each line would be in a separate cell, as in step 3.

I do not know if this issue is now a bug or an enhancement request, so I will
leave it as it is and let a dev decide. Thanks.

Eh, no, you seem to misunderstand. The OOo build and OOo packages do nothing
with gengal - except installing it (at least for Debian (openclipart source
packages) , I know SUSE does it different and calls it after the OOo build).
In both scenarios, though, the gallery files get built and installed in
to OOos dirs. in separate packages if needed (Debian: 
openclipart-openoffice.org)

It's used like the SDK external tools. There's no "modifying an installed OOo".
And if you won't allow  that, how do you register clipart for the gallery
without needing to make the user do it hhimself or do it yourself when 
packaging?




 hrm, this could be, in ooo-build we have brand + basis in the same dir
(e.g. /usr/lib/openoffice) with the usual basis-link and ure-link dirs.
(basis-link -> basis3.0). 
Maybe it just works by chance in ooo-build because of this?

AFAIK, the only reliable paths on the 3-layer OOo are when they are accessed via
the link, which are intact..

Issue 65221 works as consolidation issue for handling of empty cells and empty
strings. Therefore the decision "duplicate" seems right to me. Eike (er), who is
the developer to solve this problem, will notice this duplicate and consider it.

OOo is not free to define the behavior, because OOo wants to be ODF conform.
Unfortunately the behavior of SUMIF is not yet defined completely. Especially
the case, when the criteria range do not contain numbers and the criteria is a
comparison with a text, is still in discussion.

The single comparison A1<>"y" is right. It has to be calculated as NOT(A1="y")
and the comparison = is FALSE, if the operands have different types, and an
empty cell is not of type "text".

spreadsheets and save them as .csv files using pipes or semicolons as

I have a tabular report that I have created.
I have a Report Header with the following properties:
-Force New Page.None
-Keep Together..No
-VisibleYes
A Group Header with the following properties:
-Force New Page.None
-Keep Together..No
-Repeat Section.Yes
-VisibleYes

When I do this I, the Report Header is on the first page by itself.  If I change
the Group Header>Repeat Section to No, I have no page break and the Report
Header and Group Header are on the same page.  But obviously I don't have the
Group Header on each page, which is what I want.  Is this normal behavior or is
it an issue?

and the GCC 4.4 code needs to be changed instead.

A snap line exists and you want to know its coordinate. Use a mouse right 
button and Edit snap line. You have a good coordinate in OOo v.2 but no in OOo 
v.3. Its all.

A small wish. For a displacement or creating a new snap line could be good to 
have a possibility to put a new coordinate retalively to an existing snap line. 
For example. A snap line 250 exists. You catch it coordinate and type 250+50. 
Now you can choose to have a NEW LINE or DISPLACEMENT of an old one.

If you used db as data source in Calc, F4, select table and click into left
upper corner(select all data), drag and drop into sheet, save as csv, you can
export with correct coding. 

If you select database table in Base and copy with CTRL+C, CTRL+V into sheet,

I want to create a serial letter with current Thunderbird version 2.0.0.19 under
Linux, Windows XP and Vista. After step 5. Layout ..., OpenOffice crashed
always. It's terrable. 

I tested it with version 3.0 and 2.4.1. Always the same.

OpenOffice is used in a small theater publishing company and the serial letter
is a very important tool.

i can not reproduce this issue anymore.

i have opened all the documents i had in the folder which included
the problematic presentation and i can not find a single presentation
that this issue occurs in :-)

two things that might help:
(for future reference)
+ it was originally a ppt presentation (MSO 2003)
+ i took of all the links to remote resources and embedded them
(menu>>edit>links...)

the Internet refresh property of all presentations is 
set to "do not refresh automatically"
(and i know i did not play with that property)

I partly disagree: a default palette should (in my humble opinion) be intended
to look good and provide a sensible default that can be applied to most
situations, not a special effects showcase.

Also, I "could" have provided variants for radial/axial/square/whatever types 
but:
- they are generally (except radial, in some cases) ugly and unsuitable for
diagrams or charts, really. They are also constraining/lack flexibility (no way
to have more than 2 colors, or set precise points where those colors are
positioned, for example)
- I would just have duplicated all the linear gradients I have done here and
flipped the switch from "linear" to "radial" or "axial" or whatever. What's the
point? The user could have done so him/herself.
- past a certain amount, too much choice is not a good thing, both cognitively
(Iyengar and Lepper, 2008) [1] and artistically (because they will start showing
lack of uniqueness)

Finally, the defaults are intended to be starting points that the user can
customize, but not a "look, we can do ALL gradient types!" gallery. In the line
of thought that trying to provide more stuff would just be duplicates (see
above) or that the more diversity you try to provide, the more it looks like
what we currently had up to now, I think it would be better (and easier) to
exercise voluntary restraint in the defaults that are provided.

But yeah, maybe 2-3 radial gradients could be added, if they can look good ;)

One can add newlines to a Calc spreadsheet cell with Ctrl-Enter, however there
is currently no way to paste text with newlines into a Calc cell. Please add
this functionality to the Paste Special dialog. Thanks.

An improved new standard palette should contain all types in different settings
of Center, Angle and Border; like it is done in the palette "classic_en-US.sog".
(But I don't like the colors of that palette.) I think, that a new standard
gradients palette should not only be "nice" and useful, but show the users, what
effects are possible.

I have looked at your examples. I miss examples for using the gradients for a
slide background.
