If it is replaced by Shutdown or by Shutdown Script, this is ok. In case with Shutdown Script no problem on the next run. The difference between Script and Compact is that in case of Compact the tables are rebuilt immediatly. Maybe the problem is here? Steps to Replicate the problem 1) Open Impress 3.2 beta 2) Go to tools/options/view/graphics output and ensure this is enabled 3) Using Open- File, load files, rst123.ppt, rst123.odp, strategy.odp, strategy.pptx 4) Using SlideShow-Slideshow turn strategy.odp into a slideshow 5) Using the key, click through the slideshow Expected Result The slideshow presentation completes successfully without crashing Actual Result The slideshow presentation completed successfully, though occassionally appeared unresponsive and prompted the user to either wait for the program to respond, or close the program. See snapshot notresonding.jpg attached. I also monitored the system using perfmon and have attached the log files. Follow Up Tests I performed some extra tests to try and replicate the problem 1) I worked through the large (151 slides) impress presentation (rst123.odp) - no crash 2) I clicked through using the key all 151 slides of the rst.ppt - no crash 3) I used both the F5 key and the Menu methods of creating the slideshow - no crash 4) I opened the files in different order and then ran the rst123.odp slideshow - no crash Recommended Follow up tests: These might be interesting tests to execute: 1) Test using a different operating system - perhaps windows XP 2) run slideshow with projector as there is a pre-existing bug(104591) that causes impress to crash with a projector. 3) Test with files created in impress and saved as odp files - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Let's simplify with January, February and March tabs which are enough to reproduce the bug. In each tab, I have a column that performs sum.if calculations based on a value located in another document Bank1 which also contains tabs corresponding to the months. This allows me to compute sums based on accounting references for each month of the year. For example in Finance.January, I'll sum all lines of 1 column of Bank1 where a column will contain the value aut in Bank1.January. The same for all minths. New to version 3.1, my computations fail as soon as they are done for a month greater than January. This means they work for the first tab of the worksheet but not for the other ones. From February to December the values are exactly the same as the January values as if it was impossible for Calc to go to the tabs (or sub-worksheets) of the document. I reproduced this bug with 2 simplified worksheets and put colors and comments to highlight the problem which once visualized is easy to understand. I'll try to send them with this (first) bug report. This issue did not happen in the previous OpenOffice versions prior to 3.0.1. (I've been using OO from version 1.0 until now). This is why you suggested me to edit/link/update and as I did it being on the January spreadsheet, it just updated it and gave its values to February and March which was incorrect. More generaly, if you edit/link updtae 1 spreadsheet, it updates all the other ones with its values ! In reality I have this with a complex spreadsheet on the 12 months of the year ! The exact latest version I used WITHOUT this bug was 3.0.1 OOO300m15 (Build:9379) coming with Ubuntu 9.04. Thanks a lot in advance to help me debug this issue. MS PowerPoint behaves the same way. It seems that this is not a bug but rather a “feature” of the “Title” style. Please use simplified “Invention Development and Design - abridged v8.odp” to reproduce this issue. Slide #1 (Text in a main textbox is formatted with “Title” style) has this problem. “Bullets On/Off” button adds/removes only one bullet for the first line of the text. There are several ways to reproduce this problem: 1) Put cursor onto the last line of the text, do not select any text, and click “Bullets On/Off” button. 2) Highlight the whole block of text in this text box and click “Bullets On/Off” button. 3) Highlight the third line of text in this text box and click “Bullets On/Off” button. In all these cases a bullet can be added only to the first line of the text. Adding new lines using “Enter” key doesn’t change this behaviour. Note: This slide was originally created by openii_cameron. You should be able to recreate this issue in any presentation in both OpenOffice and PowerPoint by using a Title text box (on the top of a slide). Slide #2 (Text in a main textbox is formatted with “Default” style) doesn’t have this problem. “Bullets On/Off” button adds/removes bullets as expected. I created slide #2 by copying a text box from a “Normal” PowerPoint presentation to the current one. My speculations: - 1) I noticed that the problematic text box on a slide #1 was formatted with “Title” style. 2) By copying a text from slide #1 to MS Word I noticed that it looks like slide #1 has only one paragraph and that pressing “Enter” key inside a text box of a slide #1 adds a new line but doesn’t create a new paragraph. 3) Text in a title of a normal OpenOffice presentation also can have not more than one bullet. 4) MS PowerPoint manages bullets of a text formatted with “Title” style the same way; such text can have not more than one bullet regardless of the number of paragraphs. 5) I believe that the text boxes of the original problematic presentation were created by copying and extending a text box of a “Title” of a slide. Identical behaviour was observed on OOO310m19 (Build:9420) and OOO320m2 (Build:9432) on Windows XP SP2. I failed to find a corresponding specification document on http://specs.openoffice.org. This behavious is reproducable since OOo 2.x - maybe even versions before that. If this should be a matter of normal keyboard asterisk vs numpad asterisk, this issue has to be fixed asap for several reasons, the main reason being: There is no differentiation between those two keys in the keyboard shortcut dialog, which would indicate that one key is meant, but not the other. Hence - as long as there is no differentiation - there is no way to create misleading duplicate key bindings (one for keyboard, one for numpad), but the user simply expects that Ctrl +* will work. So this keybinding - and others maybe affected too - has to work no matter how you reach the special character that is involved. Everything else would be misleading and irritating. This is how I usually go about it. I'll assign a cell that has the same background and font color, label it 'hideme' as a new style, and then change the text back to default. I'll then give it a formula--often the formula will return an error (until the user inputs the correct cell references or some other issue present). These end up being DIV, or in the most recent case 'Err:508/509', or even 0. After, I'll select the cells I want to have the conditional formatting and assign if the cell value is equal to 'iserror' give it the 'hideme' style. It works FLAWLESSLY until I save and leave the program. Starting back up, the font style seems to revert to black ONLY for the 'Err:508/509', but not for 0 (0's font changes and hides itself). Any attempts to redo conditional formatting doesn't fix the problem. changing styles doesn't fix the problem. Restarting the steps from the start does...but it ends up reverting when the program is closed. I'm a little at a loss...this didn't used to happen in the previous versions. Create a new blank presentation 2. set the layout to title and bullet list (as seen in step2.jpg) 3. Set the slide title to Testing, and the first bullet point to Really testing 4. Go to Styles and Formatting(F11) and select the graphics sytles button 5. right click on the Default style and select New 6. Set the name to test1 7. Select the area tab, and set the color to green 1, then press ok 8. click on the bullet list on the slide 9. select test1 from the graphics styles 10. click the paint can at the top of the styles toolbox and left click on the bullet list. (as Seen in green1.jpg) 11. back in the styles toolbox, right click on the test1 style, and select New 12. set the name to test2, and go the the font tab and set the size to 72, then press ok 13. click on the slide title 14. select the test2 style of from the style toolbox 15. click the paint can at the top of the styles toolbox and left click on slide title. (as seen in green2.jpg) 16. Save the Document and exit Open office. 17. open the document (as seen in broken.jpg) 18. Note that the the title is now blue. 19. Open the styles toolbox again, right click on test2. Note that the link to is set to - None - Notes: * I've replicated this with and without templates as reported in the original replication steps.
