However, when I press an arrow key to get to that line, the text is not read out automatically. Only when I hit the aforementioned command, I get the text on that particular line. I have attached a document with just 1 line. I hope that the issue can be reproduced at your end (smile). When I move with the up and down arrow keys, JAWS announces "edit" even when that particular line does contain text which then is supposed to be read out automatically. Then another dialog box is opened where you indicate where the pdf file is to be saved. Prior to 3.1.1 it opened a dialog box where the current directory is shown. There was a field where I could paste in a long path where I wanted to save the file. By pasting the DIRECTORY name and hitting 'enter', the dialog box would then display the contents of the target directory. I could then select one of the target files. That name would appear in the type-in box. I could then modify the timestamp portion of the file name or add the required annotation to indicate change bars, final, draft, etc. before hitting save. Now when I paste in the directory name, it attempts to write a file with the same name as the document I'm editing but changes the extension to ".pdf". It then asks if I want to overwrite the file. I answer "no" because I don't want that file name, I want to select the next in the sequence of file names that are in the *other* target directory, and then modify it as required by my companies naming scheme. Give the user BACK the option of choosing the target directory, viewing the directory, selecting, and then editing the destination file name before saving the file. No, I do not want to click through the file hierarchy, as I have to do this a lot. No, I do not want to have to wait for the contents of intermediate directories to be displayed (some of them are quite large). I do not want to have to wade through those directory listings just to find the sub-directory name that I want to skip through. I have to do this for every chapter of the document I'm trying to create PDFs for. The doc file has text and two graphics images. One image shows OK, the other image either does not display or displays very, very faintly. Both images display OK in MS Word and in MS Word Viewer. When I open the binary doc file, close to the end it says "Microsoft Word Document MSWordDoc Word.Document.8". OO Navigator shows there are two images in the document. When I highlight them, the "does-not-show" image only shows the "box-with-green-handles" and inside is blank. The image is stored somewhere because when I R-click the image and choose Image Map, I can see the image OK. When I go to the Pictures Toolbar and click on Colour for the two images I get Item.Visible image.Image not showing Red0%.0% Green.0%..0% Blue...0%..0% Brightness0%.60% Contrast..0%.-70% yes that is correct ... minus 70% Gamma..1.001.00 If I then set Brightness to 0% and Contrast to 0% the image appears OK but in greyscale. If I go to Pictures Toolbar and select Default, the image then appears OK in colour. (Note the greyscale could be because the image is a colour image but was converted to a greyscale in MSWord before sending it to me)> It is not a problem of anchor, wrap, bring forward etc - I (think I) have checked all the possible options and of course, the other image displays OK. Several questions arise 1 Is this a fault in reading in and converting the doc file where the contrast and brightness values are set wrongly? I use OO for a monthly village magazine and this is the first of a hundred or more .doc files which has shown this problem. Or is it a fault with converting a newer release of MSWord - it looks like it is v8? I unzipped the odt file and content.xml has the following where "fr2" has incorrect values for Contrast and Luminance and does not display, but "fr3" displays OK: − 2 I created a new OpenOffice .odt file with two images. I then set Brightness to 60% and Contrast to -70% for one image and that image disappeared as above, suggesting that the Contrast and Brightness values are causing the problem. 3 There appears to be a bug in OO Writer which allows a user to set a Contrast value to a negative number which then causes the image to disappear. I was told that issue was solved in 3.2 OOO320m10, so I installed it. I does now save all images in the animation, all one over the other but there still is no animation. I don't know how to attach a file but I will gladly send you an example if this can be usefull. I also wanted to go into the animation and check to see if I did something wrong only to discover there does not seem to be any way to do this...
