When entering text in this mode a problem appears and causing problems. In MS Excel you enter Mcd, Tab, 5$, Tab, Food, Tab, 2$, Tab, Tax, Tab, 3$, Enter. This gives: McD 2$ Food 2$ Tax 3$. For the text Excel enters suggestions when you start to enter the letters and when you hit Tab the suggestion is accepted and you move to the next Cell. In Calc there is a nice function allowing you to use Tab to chose between all names in the column starting with the letters entered. This is good but it is causing a lot of trouble when entering in a row. This gives (If McD, Food and Tax already exists): McD, Enter, up arrow, Tab, 5$, Tab, Food, Enter, up arrow, Tab, Tab, Tab, 2$, Tab, Tax, Enter, up arrow, Tab, Tab, Tab, Tab, Tab, 3$, Enter. This is an issue causing time delays and frustration when entering a lot of information into Calc. The formula contains also check on empty cells. At first I can think that the test C1-B10.30 minutes does not work fine on OO 3.2, but that is not true. In fact if I extract the C1-B10.30 and I put it on cells E4 and E5, this test work fine on both versions of OO. So I think that there is a bug on parsing complex formulas. So I am attaching my Windows keyboard driver here for easier replication of the problem. If you install the keyboard (called Francais+, known to work on XP, Vista and Win 7) and enable it for the French language: Pressing AltGr+B should give an e with dot below and acute accent above. It does in Microsoft Windows.. but in Openoffice 3.2, it still gives just e with dot below - it was the same for OO 3 and before. Pressing AltGr then a key seems to result in maximum one diacritic on a letter. This duplicate bug 92641 has been around a loong time. Any target for fixing it? This simply does not work for page styles. This breaks the affordance of the style mechanism that applies everywhere else in Ooo. It is counter-intuitive. You can close this bug as working as designed, but that ignores the fact that the usability of this feature is very low. To be anle to use the feature as designed, users have to learn that there is an invisible chain of page styles, which you can only determine by bringing up the page style inspector and looking to see what page style it is set to use as the Next page. Then they have to learn that inserting a manual page break also provides them the option of setting the initial page style for the new chain of pages that they are starting. They have to learn that they can only set the page style of the first page in a chain, and the way they start a chain is by inserting a manual page break. Page chains are not visible in the UI, although pages are. The fact that a manual page break has been inserted is basically an invisible and I think undiscoverable aspect of the document. So, yes, this feature *is* working as you've designed, and yes, it has powerful uses and is very appealing once you have learned it - but the feature is invisible and almost undiscoverable in a document, and I imagine this feature would be a major reason why many people give up on using OOo and revert to using MS Word, or deciding to invest the effort to learn the new UI of the new ribbon MS Word, even if they hate it.
