In this state, even the keyboard shortcuts (press the key according to the underlined letters, e.g. D for Text _D_ocument) do not work anymore. E.g. in electronic design it would be useful to store the symbols of the components or subsystems to theme and use them there. A component symbol is naturally a group. You combine the component symbol from elementary symbols having glue points. When you actually use the symbol you want to make connections to the specific points, connectors, of the symbol. It is impractical to add glue points later to the group because the association of the group level glue points and the parts of the symbol is not clear (and extra work). The current situation impedes automatic processing of designs. Anyway, the feature might be configurable by group. So, you could select do the specific group reveal the inner glue points or not. (Background: I have developed automatic processing of designs drawn using Visio for several technologies since 1994. As for the crash report ID, Open Office doesn't actually crash -- it gets itself locked into a state where you can't interact with the GUI. I'm assuming it's still running under the hood -- well that's how it appears. The only way to close it is to force kill it's process soffice.bin. I would like to be able to do it, because of the following scenario: a) You insert a picture in a frame, leaving space on top for a callout. b) In the end, you decide that callout is not needed; then, you want to change the top border, to remove the blank space you left for the callout you decided not to include. This change could not be needed, in case a multiple selection of different objects inside a frame is implemented. However, I find it more intuitive if grabbing the border of a frame resizes that border, and not a different one. The attached images should explain what I mean. The last MSO I bought was 2003, and I'm still using it. This has, however, a FAR better outliner in Powerpoint than it has in Word, and I would personally prefer that model. I think the demand originates in two separate quarters: - Original writers that write from scratch. I always pop up Powerpoint or Freemind and draw an initial structure before I let myself loose, as the structure makes or breaks the document in terms of clarity and accessibility. - Editors and template based workers. For them outline is a navigational tool, but even there the Navigator isn't enough as it doesn't support manipulation of that structure. However, please avoid overkill. The feature is for most people I know to work with documents an absolutely critical component to do their work. Without it, there is no chance OpenOffice will ever make it into the corporate environment. As the reporter says when a projector is attached and the presentation is on slide show the event of pressing Fn+F8 ( that is the designated key for changing to projector on my laptop) did cause a black screen. I was unable to change to the next slide and the animations stoped working. A little extra info is that this bug doesnt happen if you attach the device on properties of your display before even opening impress, instead of using the funtion key of the laptop at the time the presentation has started. i also tried with diferent resolutions and the same bug happened. a tip for the next report, try to make the summary more descriptive of the error, since that is the only information that the issue query shows about your report. I am sorry for not updating this issue for long time. The OOo Accessibility is
very complex problem, I spent a lot of times on this issue, I debug OOo codes
and find that the so_activex work window which OOo created doesn't have the
window Style which is required in OOo accessibility. I fixed this issue just
hacking the below codes.
