For one of my Books i switched a few months ago to  pdfLATEX with typerref 
Package. The odt File with 
over 3MB size, is shrunk to a 188kB Lyx File!!! (tex: 300kB) It works nearly 
perfect, great community 
support, PDF export is excellent. Please Open Office Guys... do your Homework, 
take a look to competing 
products, and please FIX THIS (in my eyes) HIGH PRIORITY BUG. I cant believe 
that it takes so may years to 
fix it. And i cant believe, that i wait all this  years...

I agree that this is a serious issue.  At the very least the software needs to 
issue a warning that embedded video may not work in a ppt file viewed outside 
of oo; the generic warning about some formatting being lost isn't enough.  I 
wasted hours on this, and from what I read on the forums others have also 
wasted hours on it.  I am surprised there aren't more votes for this issue, but 
I'm new here and don't really understand the voting system.  It took me quite 
some time to find the issue tracker and figure out the voting, and I suspect 
that stops a lot of users from casting votes.  Thank you.

I think I have the same issue.

I have a two column table in OO320m12, which I can save and re-read happily in 
RTF.

When I save it as Word-95 .doc, neither OO (which wrote it) nor TextEdit.app 
(I'm on MacOS 10.5.8) can 
see that it's a table.

As I said previously, This issue should be raised to an extremely high category.
A feature that doesn't work reliably is NOT a feature. My 240 page book
consisting of 14 chapters in separate files and assembled by a Master document
had random cross-reference errors. I had to export as a single document and then
hand edit in order to publish. Without this feature OO isn't a serious tool and
I might as well use abiword.

While this feature may be hard for the developers to duplicate, it is VERY real
and VERY serious to any serious writer.

The problem must be that in this case is that in the first inclusion nothing has
already included any headers that *would* have opened namespace std. i.e. fix is
to include some header unconditionally at the top of preextstl.h that definitely

As I mentionned in the initial description, the graphic card is an integrated 
Intel i915 chipset, which are among the best supported in Linux.

However, this bug is CPU-bound, not GPU-bound. The GPU seems to have nothing to 
do with it, and even if it did, you shouldn't need a top of the line GPU to 
drag 
a friggin' slide :) especially when the GPU is perfectly capable of running 
Compiz, GNOME Shell, or playing games like OpenArena.

To reproduce, try dragging 4 or more slides at once with a presentation that 
has 
50 slides or so. And do it *on a netbook*, not a powerful laptop/desktop 
machine.
Dragging only one slide will be a bit slower (it's a bit more subtle), but as 
soon as you drag multiple slides, it's unusable.
Also, make sure to actually compare the performance with the option toggle ON 
vs 
 OFF. Unless you compare, you may not know what "fast" feels like ;)

Adjacent viewing and editing (at least) two documents is very useful and 
sometimes even important since it greatly simplifies such kind of work. 
Imagine, 
how many mouse movements and clicks it needs to make, editing some long

and visually comparing it with another one (clicking, moving mouse, scrolling, 
etc.) without two synchronized and ajacent views, but having only different and 
independent of each other windows.

Spellcheck is not working after I installed the Hungarian Spelling.
When I press the spell icon. It shows there is nothing to spell check which is 
not true.
The whole happened after I tried to set the language of document to Hungarian 
using the menu.
Statusbar shows the language is Hungarian. I can change the language using the 
statusbar. If I change the language to English using the statusbar but it does 
not spellcheck either in English.
So at some point it broke.
I may reinstall the wrecked thing.

In early versions of Excel, there was no edit directly in cell capability. After
Excel added edit directly in cell and turned it on by default,
[Tools->Options->Edit->"Edit directly in cell"] hardly anyone experiences the
great benefit of not editing directly in cell. (In early versions of Excel,
there was no edit directly in cell capability.) 

Turning off direct edit means a double click on a cell which is a link
immediately takes me to the linked cell, no matter what sheet the linked cell is
on. This lets me immediately navigate from a subtotal cell on my Summary sheet
to the exact cell from which the data came. Further, linking a cell (a date) in
each data sheet back to the date on the Summary sheet means I can very quickly
go back and forth to view and evaluate my data (a stock portfolio Summary sheet
and supporting individual stock data sheets) by merely double clicking linked
subtotals on the Summary sheet and a linked date on various data sheets. I've
been checking Calc since a late version 1, have not moved to Calc because of not
being able to quickly navigate, and am finally writing. 

Navigating sheets by double clicking is wonderfully Fast and Direct.

That alone does not seem to be IT. While setting a max size within the gtk
plugin makes the fullscreen work, in the generic plugin it does not seem to
improve things. Here it is "mostly works not - only sometimes" from the 
beginning.

I made a little progress; Compiz seems to react to min/max size settings. Which
are unclear when fullscreen state is active at the same time; the problem here
is that a not sizeable window (which our full screen presentation is) has equal
min and max sizes.

The current code more or less assumes that min/max sizes will be ignored in
fullscreen conditions, however that may be not the case here - and may be a
debatable assumption.

I stand corrected: The field *does* have a numeric format, which explains the
"0" being displayed in the text box.

So, the main question is how the field did get this wrong format. One could add
code for determining such an pathological situation, and fixing it on the fly,
which would at least "repair" the corrupted documents. But the question remains

The bug I actually *do* see is the following:
Consider the field "mfpkuerzel" in the table in attached "copypersonen.odb"
file. In the table data view, you see that this field is empty in the first two
records, and contains a non-empty value in the third record.
In the contained form, this field is displayed using a text box, which displays
an empty string for the first two records, but "0" for the third record.
(using an English OOO320m14, on Windows Server 2008, with a German locale. Not
sure any of this matters, didn't try other combinations.)

That certainly is a bug. However - a) I am not sure if this is what the original
reporter meant and b) this bug appears to be existing in both 3.1.1 and 3.0.1,
so it can never be a stopper for 3.2.1.

Yes, I think it is a duplicate of 11174.

Bug 11174 has been around since 2003!
There are around a dozen duplicates of that bug and many people complaining
about having to hand-edit cross-references in order to publish a document.

Probably your suspicion about extensions is right, and I suggest to change the 
status of this issue to solved-closed. At this moment I cannot reproduce the 
problem although the file was not altered since it was sent. And I do not see 
the button of an extension enhancing search/replace, which I had installed many 
months ago. Possibly this extension was automatically deleted upon an update of 
OOo. (I cannot say precisely when the button disappeared, because I had used it 
very rarely.) 

Besides, I had created a macro, which stopped working a few weeks ago. Was it a 
result of an OOo update, too? Should I do something to reactivate this macro? 
Is it possible to avoid such results of the updates?

I was hoping you wouldn't say that - I tried, I copied the file, I copied the 
table, I did it with a couple of ODB, even used Calc as an intermediary - 
nothing 
going wrong with any of the files here - however I'm doing everything in 
English -

This file is not broken, it is the copy of the table that I made today, that

format redline at the same position as a insert/delete redline.
with the fix from that issue in effect,
if such a format redline is in a file, then it will effectively not be imported.

With OOo 3.2 options for selecting navigation buttons on export to html no
longer appear.  I have confirmed this in aqua version for OS X and PC version.
This was reported in forum ~1 month ago and no suggestion of why this has
changed.  Other users confirm the disappearance of the feature,  though
documents indicating feature should be [resent have not changed.

And this happens without xinerama as well. Compiz just removes the fullscreen
state again without being asked to. Which also explains why this happens in
single monitor configurations.

Not currently. With the fix attached to issue 107249 it works with metacity, but
compiz refuses to cooperate. As soon as the presentation window is made
fullscreen (using gtk_window_fullscreen or the equivalent non-gtk functionality)
Compiz 0.8.4 immediately removes the fullscreen state again from the window (you
can see this in the windows state signal handler just fine: first a transition
to fullscreen, immediately followed by a transition from fullscreen). Which
means you end up with a window that is not quite a fullscreen window.

I might add that I wasted lots of time downloading first the nightly build
mentioned in the launchpad report - which does not even install - and then the
beta of 10.04 - which after install does not boot.

At least compiz on 9.10 shows the reported behavior. I do not yet know why
compiz behaves so uncooperative (well, I do, it's because it has its bugs, too,
I do not know yet however what exactly causes it to remove fullscreen state 
again).

This is by the way on a 2 monitors xinerama setting; but I suspect the same
happens with one monitor. I'll poke a little further around in this.

That would seem to be a duplicate to issue 107945. For a fix in 3.2 in kubuntu
or mandriva, please file an issue to the distributors who compile OOo with KDE4
support enabled.

I verified with the Ubuntu Xorg maintainer that he did not make any changes to
force enable Xinerama on systems so this is likely to be a widespread problem
soon for Linux systems, if it isn't already.
