I get this error on SunRay software srss 4.2 where XRender is integrated the first time. I do not know, what sytem requirement is triggering this issue. But it seams, that it doesn't exist on all UNIX/Linux systems. How to reproduce this error : - open the attached file - the borders/lines of the native shape and the OLE shape should be the same - if this isn't the case, you are running into this problem :-( (For Sun internal : this problem can be seen on our internally hosted SunRay) I will add also a PNG-file where the problem with the different borders/lines/text is shown. Additional info : If you print the document or save it as PDF, the problem doesn't occur. So it is a rendering problem and isn't in the document. Probably createAreaGeometry() should be changed to match these popular graphics engines. Alternatively the code using it could move the points by (-0.5,- 0.5) before calling it. OTOH I solved the problem differently. It took some time to analyze this problem. The reason for the assertion is that getController() is called at a disposed frame and its TransactionGuard complains about that by showing the assertion message. The offending call happens in the AsyncCallback of the CloseDispatcher (the code that you have patched). The idea of this code is that once a Controller has been suspended in preparation for closing the frame, this suspension must be removed when the closing of the frame failed. Otherwise the UI inside the frame would be dysfunctional and perhaps a crash is not far away. The code makes a mistake by assuming that bSuccess being sal_False is enough to detect the need to unsuspend, but unfortunately the variable is can have this value also if the frame was closed successfully, but the Desktop could not be terminated. This is the case e.g. if a Quickstarter is active. Your patch just checks if the frame was actually destroyed, but it will fail in case any other code still has a hard reference to the frame. My first attempt was to have two variables bSuccess (for the overall access of the whole method) and bCloseSuccess that will be true only if the frame was closed successfully by the CloseDispatcher. Unfortunately after some thinking I discovered scenarios where the Controller was suspended, but the frame was closed or tried to be closed elsewhere, so bCloseSuccess is not able to provide the needed information. What we want to know is: was the frame disposed so that calling getController() is not necessary? A possible solution would be to register an EventListener at the frame that notifies the CloseDispatcher about the disposing event. But IMHO that would be overkill. I think it is OK to remove the TransactionGuard from the Frame::getController() method. This makes clear that calling getController() at a disposed frame is not a mistake. I use on 2 computers the same version of Ooo (320m12). On one computer (A) i also test beta version of Ooo (now dev300m73). On both computers there is the same copy of the User profile (copied)- C:\Documents and Settings\...\Application Data\OpenOffice.org\3\user. Now the problem: on one local machine (A) if I open a specific word document containing macros and field, the field names are not showed (neither by using OOo beta nor by using ortodox Ooo). On other machine (B) on the place where the fields are there are rectangles (see attached picture). It seems to be unpossible to make the rectangles not to be shown on computer B (they are also printed what is the main problem). All settings (View, VBA, Load/Save) are identical on the machines. I had a document where I had two original ole objects, type embeded spreadsheet (insert - Ole object - Spreadsheet). (I call those objects for tables from now) Then I copied the two tables several times to other location in the same document. And then I entered other numbers into the copies. I saved the document while I worked with it. I also saved the document when editing ole object mode or what it's called. I saved the document all the time (I gusee a minute or so between each time) to be sure not to loose any data. Next time I opened the document, I discovered all tables where gone, exept the first two that was created from scratch. I lost approximately 5 hours work. Now I cannot recreate the tables, i can only see the power cord in their place. Conclusion: This bug still persist in version 3.2.0 and can cause serious loss of data as the user don't get noticed at any point that something is wrong. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
