Necessary to do several exemplars of the same info in the same pdf, for example
an administrative document :
- one exemplar for the employee
- one exemplar for the employer
- one exemplar for the administration
The same info (1st page) is repeated twice in the next pages.

In a recent dev version (ooo330m7) the situation for Italian is unchanged:
- Controllo on/off should be Attiva controllo
- Punto di interruzione on/off is not very elegant but it can stay
- Step over, Step into, Step out are untranslated

As Paolo wrote, we can probably fix these autonomously in Pootle.

Hi all,

same issue here with OpenOffice 3.2.1 on Windows 7 and Apple Mighty Mouse (with
scroll ball). Vertically it works as expected (rolling the ball down is like
pulling the scroll bar down), horizontally is reversed (rolling the ball to the
right is like pulling the horizontal scroll bar to the left).

Firefox works as expected.

I am running a non-product build of DEV300_m88.

This started with a file downloaded from the net
http://afc.library.aurora.on.ca/Subscription%20Form%20Draft%20Final.doc,
which I shall soon attach to this issue. I do not know how this file
was created, and I have no reason to think that it is well formed.
Still, I understand that raised assertions should be reported.

To raise the assertion, open that file. For the writing of this
message, I opened it from the drop-down list of recent files offered
by the welcome center. The program displays Debug Output ...

Error: Trying to resize readonly stream by seeking, could be a wrong offset!
From File /home/terry/OOo_hacking/DEV300_m88/sot/source/sdstor/stgdir.cxx at
Line 416
Abort ? (Yes=abort / No=ignore / Cancel=core dump)

This assertion was introduced in response to issue 73969. Although
that issue is in status STARTED, when I saved the file under a
different name the size increased from 22528 bytes to merely 23040
bytes. I conclude that I am not seeing the problem for which the
assertion was introduced.

I shall shortly attach the .doc and backtrace.

7 years and this still hasn't been fixed!
Same thing happens in Open Office 3.2

If I open Calc then try to open a file, I want it to open in Calc.
If I wanted to open the file in Writer, I would have opened Writer!

The fact that you can work around it by selecting Text CSV is meaningless as
well because that option is entrenched in an overly huge list of other options
(44th out of 113 options!!!).
Before you get to that you have Text documents, Spreadsheets, Text, Text Encoded
and other potential options so people assume it doesn't work.

OOo advertises with things like interoperability with Microsoft Office for
free etc etc
If that is the case, why are there decisions like these to operate completely
differently to Microsoft Office?

If you search the forums there are hundreds of posts asking questions that this
bug addresses and feel as though it is 'broken'.

As often is the case with these types of issues, some people want it one way and
some want it in a seemingly opposing way.

The solution that will appease everyone is to make it an option in the settings.
Then the people that like the original way can carry on without any affect to
them and the people that like it the way as certain other office suites can be
happy by switching on the option.

I would suggest that you either have an option in the settings or you have a
radio button on the open dialog that gave the choice
 - Automatically choose application based on file type
 - Try to open file in this application.

--- Additional comments from joaniedi...@openoffice.org Sat Sep 25 17:53:37

Steps to reproduce:

1. Launch Calc and Accerciser

2. Use Accerciser's event monitor to watch for object:active-descendant-changed
events.

3. Arrow around cells on the current sheet.

4. Press PageUp/PageDown to move amongst sheets.

Expected results: After step 3 and after step 4, object:active-descendant-
changed events would be seen.

Actual results: object:active-descendant-changed events are only seen after
step
3.

Impact: Screen readers such as Orca have no problem informing the user of the
current cell as long as the user remains on the active sheet. But there is no
way of telling the user what the active cell is when the user has just moved to
a different sheet.

impertinent flames only will prevent responsible staff to start fixing the
problem.

Just for the record: flames in no way influence responsible staff from fixing
a problem. However, comments not related to the issue (like this one, too, sorry
;-( make it increasingly difficult to track an issue.

Thankfully, this issue already has a solution and is just waiting for

When I try to print or export to PDF from OO Writer, and I like to print or
export the pages in a specific order for example: 4,1,2,3
OO Writer is printing or export the pages as 1,2,3,4

This function where I'm printing the pages in a specific order, is very usefull
when I'm printing folders (with to pages on one page)

Acrobat Reader and Microsoft Office can do it.. ;-)

I would like to have all dates in a particular column have different colors
depending on a criteria specified in a conditional format code.

However, the worksheet is intended on being copied/pasted into a new sheet
biweekly, and to reduce rework I would like the conditional format code to be
able to draw information from other cells in the worksheet rather than being
hardcoded.

For example, in a particular worksheet I want all dates on or before Sep 30/2010
to have green color, and any date later than Sep 30/2010 to have red color.

Column AColumn B
Row 1 DateNumeric equivalent

Row 2 Sep 30, 201040451

Row 3 Aug 31/2010

Conditional format code used with current software by selecting cell A3,
Format-Cells-Format code:

[=40451][GREEN]MMM D, ;[40451][RED]MMM D,

What I would like to be able to specify is the following:
[=B2][GREEN]MMM D, ;[B2][RED]MMM D, ;General

Then, whenever the value of B2 changes the highlighting would change for all
formats that reference this cell.

During the install after entering User Name and Company info. Window appears
stating that installation is in progress and will take a few minutes, but
nothing is happening. The progress bar does not change and there is no apparent
activity detected in Task Manager even after several minutes. Depressed the
Cancel button and nothing happens. Needs to be terminated manually via Task
Manager. Unable to install.

I myself am also amazed at this not being fixed yet. Just like everyone said:
it's the little things.

Now, if I may ask, why exactly has this been overlooked for so long? Lack of
developers? Lack of interest? Difficult to implement? (I'm actually curious as
to
how hard implementing this is).

I'm no programmer, but if I were to attach a patch, would it be accepted
(assuming it's sane and functional)?

Steps:
1)Open the attached .ppt file
2)save it as .odp file
3)reopen the .odp file

Defect: the table size becomes larger compared to it in .ppt file

Per investigation, there are empty list items in the table cell of the .ppt
file. But the current exported .odp file does not contain those empty list
items. So when loading, the font size in empty cells use the cell font
size(24pt) instead of 9pt in .ppt file. So the table size becomes larger to
adapt to the larger font size.

1.Create a custom shape in Symphony 3.0
2.Input some text into the custom shape. The text is word wrapped.
3. Save the file .odp(see attachement)
4. Open the .odp file by OO3.x
Issue: the text in custom shape becomes non-wrap.

This should be caused by different default values for word wrap for text in
custom shape. Symphony by default takes wrap value, but OO3.x by default takes
non wrap value. Before unifying the default value in ODF standard, Symphony
code now can be compatible with OO3.x, that is to keep non wrap if open OO3.x
created file. This also needs OO3.x to add code to process Symphony created file
in order not to cause confusion for end users.

I have prepared new language fingeprint data for Serbian Cyrillic and Serbian
Latin. A patch against the OOO330_m8 can be downloaded from:
http://openoffice.rs/patches/2010-09-26_sr_fingerprint.patch.bz2

Language models are in UTF-8 encoding, ready for use with a patched libtextcat
as used in OpenOffice.org. They are released under the GNU LGPL v3 and can be
integrated into the OpenOffice.org source tree. Sources are available at
http://gitorious.org/dict-sr/textcat-sr

Applying this patch will remove incorect serbian-ascii model, update packaging
data in scp2 (removing Serbian_Ascii package, adding Serbian and Serbian_Latn)
and will add new entries to libtextcat/data/new_fingerprints/fpdb.conf mapping
serbian.lm to sr and serbian-Latn.lm to sh language code.
