[framework-issues] [Issue 96082] OpenOffice Improvement pro gram: Simplify UI
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=96082 --- Additional comments from endol...@openoffice.org Tue May 26 15:29:29 + 2009 --- This should not be a dialog box at all. I tried to open a new spreadsheet, and nothing happened. I heard the hard drive churning, but it didn't do anything. I tried again, and nothing happened. After a bit of frustration, I Alt+Tabbed and saw a spreadsheet icon in the list. I switched to that, and it was a little dialog box called OpenOffice Improvement Program, with no window list button. The first thing you could do to improve OpenOffice is to remove this dialog and make it into an unobtrusive notification balloon. At the very least, give it a window manager button. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [graphics-issues] [Issue 3582] Additional built-in symbols for data points (crosses, circles)
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=3582 --- Additional comments from endol...@openoffice.org Sat May 16 00:37:10 + 2009 --- I need circles, too. I'm glad I saw this bug, though. I'd been using very small diamonds to approximate circles, but now I know I can use an SVG file instead. You can make the SVG circle any size or color or linewidth or opacity you want, and it will render nicely. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [ui-issues] [Issue 97511] Adding words to spell-chec k dictionary is unintuitive

I right-click the word and click Add. It pops out a menu with several options: soffice.dic sun.dic IgnoreAllList standard.dic I am a technical user, and I have no idea which option I should select. A non-technical user would just be lost. Instead, the context menu action should be more explicit, like Add to dictionary or Word is spelled correctly or Not a misspelling. If there is only one logical choice for the dictionary, then there should be no sub-menu. Clicking Add to dictionary should just add it to the user's custom dictionary. If there is a choice to be made, it should be stated in a clear way. If there's a difference between a user's custom dictionary and the system-wide custom dictionary, for instance, the sub-menu choices could be phrased as Add to my dictionary and Add to dictionary for all users. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
