[sw-issues] [Issue 107453] PDF: export renders text background in EMF incorrectly

However, calculating clip regions for all the lines (bonds) would be relatively complex and time-consuming so I have chosen to draw the text with an opaque background. Same effect with far simpler means. The opaque text background is unfortunately lost when converting to PDF so lines and text will have unwanted visual overlap. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I observe that issue when breaking molecule.emf in Draw: The text items will get transparent background and the picture on screen then looks just like the exported PDF from Writer. Incidentally, a similar (incorrect) behavior is observed when editing the picture in Word 2007. Initial import renders correct on screen and PDF export from Word renders correct. After right-clicking the picture and choosing Edit Picture all text items have transparent background and one of the line items is even lost. The Word issue illustrates that background issues with metafile text items seems to be a common thing. I have worked around this issue by changing the way I generate metafiles. I add explicitly drawn solid white rectangles underneath each text item. This works well, but is obviously a little slower and not an option in the cases where I do not control the generation of the metafile myself. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Create a new Writer document. Copy metafile from the clipboard and also use Insert picture from file to add the same metafile from disk to the document. Both metafiles render correctly on screen and in the page preview, but when a PDF file is generated, the resulting graphics contain incorrectly clipped text. Text is rendered with a transparent background even though it should be opaque. See attached document for example. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [framework-issues] [Issue 104476] Request for standardized QuickStarter control interface.
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=104476 Issue #|104476 Summary|Request for standardized QuickStarter control interfac |e. Component|framework Version|OOO310m11 Platform|Unknown URL| OS/Version|All Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|ENHANCEMENT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|scripting Assigned to|ab Reported by|jan_bcf --- Additional comments from jan_...@openoffice.org Mon Aug 24 20:58:53 + 2009 --- When creating an installer for an extension I was trying to find a way to close the Quickstarter on Windows before installing or upgrading the extension. The reason I need to completely close OpenOffice before installing the extension is that an extension upgrade may be blocked if the extension is loaded by OpenOffice - it is using a DLL and the Quickstarter may keep that extension DLL loaded. You can follow the discussion at http://api.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=devmsgNo=21638 where the apparently unpublished interface com.sun.star.office.Quickstart is being used. Is there a chance that this interface may become standardized across platforms and published so there is a clean way of making the Quickstarter exit ? Currently I have regressed to a good-old PostMessage() routine after diving into the source at http://svn.services.openoffice.org/opengrok/xref/DEV300_m55/sfx2/source/appl/shutdowniconw32.cxx and found a working Windows-only,probably-OOo-version-specific solution that way - code follows. Delphi code to close the Quickstarter on Windows: const QUICKSTART_CLASSNAME = 'SO Listener Class'; // QUICKSTART_WINDOWNAME = 'SO Listener Window'; // The window name of the listener window is not set to anything // in the OpenOffice Quickstarter that I have running according to Microsoft Spy++. // I run OOO310m11. QUICKSTART_WINDOWNAME = nil; // Window name is not set in my OOo 3.1. SHUTDOWN_QUICKSTART_MESSAGE = 'SO KillTray'; procedure TMainForm.PostExitMessageButtonClick(Sender: TObject); var QckStWinHandle: THandle; ShutdownMsg: DWORD; begin QckStWinHandle := FindWindow(QUICKSTART_CLASSNAME, QUICKSTART_WINDOWNAME); if QckStWinHandle = 0 then raise Exception.Create('QuickStarter is not running.'); ShutdownMsg := RegisterWindowMessage( SHUTDOWN_QUICKSTART_MESSAGE ); PostMessage(QckStWinHandle, ShutdownMsg, 0, 0); end; - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
