By then the password is removed. This makes the excelent Ooo password protection meaningless. http://specs.openoffice.org/appwide/interoperability/Import_Password_Protected_M S_Office_Files.sxw says: The export of a password protected document in MS Office format is not supported in OO.org 2.0. Therefore we have to inform user, that the document cannot be encrypted when saving in a MS Office format and thus the password protection of his data gets lost on saving the document. This is right-thinking creating a bug out of politeness. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Ooo has the power to produce documents which can only partly be altered by users. The password protection can become a nice feature of Ooo to make applications. I think it must be easy to implement that. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I have never used the words password protected file. Therefore I did not understand your reactions. I have based my argumentation on the programm itself which shows options like protect cells, sheets and document with a password. Don't blame me! I am just a user who wants to take advantage of the promising, excelent protection function of Ooo. It's my sence of logic, as a layman, that says that it is stupid to rule out this fine option by the desire to make it possible to save every document in a MS standard. Let Ooo be the standard and not MsOffice! - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
