[graphics-issues] [Issue 100851] Fontwork deadly slow
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=100851 --- Additional comments from jar...@openoffice.org Tue May 19 16:13:05 + 2009 --- Nothing is fixed! I tested on my own build (go-oo) and on official release too (both ooo310-m11) in Mandrivalinux 2008.1 Fontwork is allways slow, specially with gradient. When is fontwork on page, srcolling is not smooth too (when scrollin to place, where fontwork is, OOO + X consume cca 70-85% CPU). For example: Test fontwork Favorite10 in OOO 3.1 and then same fontwork in OOO 2.0-3.0.1. It is extremly difference in performance. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Draw some vector object (in writer or draww) 2. In Area Style/Filling choose Gradient a then choose one from gradient. For now, object is slowed 3. Choose bigger line width and vector object is more slowed 4. When you add fontwork, you cannot work - soffice.bin + X-server consummed 90 - 96% CPU Here http://mandrake.zstenis.org/rpms/test/corrupted_vector.odt is example, which consummed 90 - 96% CPU on Mandriva 2008.1, Semprom 3100, 1,2 GB RAM, Geforce 7600 GS - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. With antialiasing on, performance is extremly poor, practically working with fontwork is impossible. Problem is in all modules (writer, draw, calc,...). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 89920] fontwork object only selec table via Ctrl-Click 'cause it's inserted "in background" by default
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=89920 --- Additional comments from jar...@openoffice.org Sun Apr 5 08:11:53 + 2009 --- In ooo310m7 still exist. Yes, this "new feature" is problem for czech teacher too. But solution is so easy: In ooo 2.4 when was fontwork inserted, default wrap was "Wrap Trough". But in 3.0 - ooo310m7 after adding fontwork, defaul wrap is "Page Wrap". After changing "Page Wrap" to "Wrap Trough", then i can work with fontwork in the same way as in ooo 2.4. Please, change default "Page Wrap" to "Wrap Trough" for fontwork. Thanks. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Tested on official Openoffice.org 2.4.0 for Linux and many my own go-oo builds for Mandriva 2008.0. It is IMHO neon problem. Why? I builded Openoffice 2.4 with neon-0.24, 0.26 (internal, from ooh680-m12-system.tar.bz2), 0.27 and 0.28 - allways crash. Only when i builded with --disable-neon, then no crash. How to reproduce: 1. go to http://www.mandrivalinux.cz/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=8709&forum=32 2. ctrl+A, ctrl+C, ctrl+V into Writer 3. scroll page - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
