I'm seeing this on OS X 10.6.2 with ooo 3.1.1 as well. It's a pretty bad bug
userwise. Makes you lose
confidence in the software.

It would be extremely useful to be able to find and replace formatting
characters (tabs, carriage returns,
etc.). Microsoft Word allows for this with caret keywords (e.g., ^t means a
tab) for example.

Make a file with several paragraphs. Create a border that encompasses several
of the paragraphs. Save
the document. If it is saved in .odt format then it will appear the same when
it is reopened. If it is saved
as .rtf then it will only surround the first paragraph when reopened in either
Ooo or in Word (which
indicates the problem is with saving the rtf file).

Some graphic inserts (used by the bibliography program Bookends 10.3.4 to
handle citations) are not
being correctly imported. They simply don't appear in the imported document.
The file was created with
Word 2008 and saved using the Word 97-2004 format (.doc). The .docx version
from this same program
is importing correctly. This is a severe problem for an academic and will
prevent me from using this word
processor until it can be fixed, alas. So I would categorize it as serious but
for a relatively small set of
users. If it affects other bibliography programs, like Endnote, then it would
be a more serious problem
but I don't have a copy for testing purposes.

In the attached .docx file, on the first page the header(?) is appearing as a
series of small blue squares on
the first page only. I tried to make a smaller file by deleting the rest of
the pages but the glitch went away
so I'm uploading the whole thing. It's not just a graphical glitch because the
cursor can actually go up
there and move around the blue squares. I'm using OS X 10.5.5 on an Intel Mac.
 The file was made with
Word 2008 12.1.3. I'm including a screen capture so you can see what it looks
like.
