The link on the OO download page for MacOSX Intel vs. 3.0.1 Language De (German)
does not work.

Link URI:
http://openoffice.bouncer.osuosl.org/?product=OpenOffice.orgos=macosxintelaqualang=deversion=3.0.1

Nagging, because OO always pops up a new version available alert when started.

I have not tested any other link on the dl page except english/US which worked.
Thanks.

yes, can be closed.
i leave it to you or any developer to decide whether to create a ticket for
improvement. (suggestion from 6.jan)

OO could actually close a tool palette, if the tile slider reduces it to 0
width. Or it could handle such a minimized palette like a closed one and enlarge
the tile width to the palette's default size, when the user toggles it's
visibility state.

actually yes, CTRL+F11 works today... ?-)
Though i can't remember, i probably docked the tool window by moving it over the
right-side scroll bar until the mouse pointer was over the scroll bar, and alas!
But i guess you probably know that? At least, that is how it worked today. I
don't like this kind of display mode, because it reduces the main window too
much.

OK - i could find the problem.

Obviously the Styles and Formatting tool palette was in the tiled state. (i
hope this the right wording or you understand was i mean) And the size of this
tile was reduced to the minimum sizem making it unnoticeable. In Writer i
noticed this, because there was no other tool palette in this tile, so the
window contents shifted a little bit when i opened and closed the tool palette.
In Draw i had a 2nd palette in this tile, so the window contents did not shift.

Maybe a suggestion for improvement: OO could actually close a tool palette, if
the tile slider reduces it to 0 width. Or it could handle such a minimized
palette like a closed one and enlarge the tile width to the palette's default
size, when the user toggles it's visibility state.

btw: on MacOSX, F11 is unusable, because used by the Finder. OO does not use
CTRL+anykey. Styles and Formatting has no default key binding.

no, definitely as described, Styles and Formatting window does not open.
I compared with NeoOffice, and there this tool window opens.
Sorry if this can't be reproduced by others.

In Draw, 300m9, MacOSX 10.5.5, German Localization or English:

The Styles and Formatting window (Formatvorlagen) does not open.
In Draw, Tool palette Line and Filling (Linie und Füllungen) Button Styles
and Formatting (Formatvorlagen):
I believe that this should open a window/dialog. But nothing happens, except
that the button state toggles. I cannot create own style templates. Working with
style templates is completely impossible.
Also, if i open a page from template which contains some predefined styles, i
always get the standard style when i click on a presumably styled object,
right-click for context menu and select Edit style...
Format template are completely unusable.

comment from 'er' suggests that not applying an intentionally applied format
is as 'as expected'.
so whats left for me to say is:
i _was_ unpleasantly surprised because it did not.
and i ran completely out of clues, because it did not even show me anywhere that
it did not.

Sorting the included example table sorts the first line wrong. Note: this not
related to option first line is a title line.
- Open example table; mark rows 3 to end; sort by column B.
- First line should be reordered to somewhere in the middle.
- But it is 'intentionally' left at top by the sorter.
- You can also sort descending, then it is sorted to the end to the table.
All column B cells are marked as Text. There are no funny characters in the
cells. I cannot figure out any reason.
