Here is a description of one of the bugs fixed by the patch: Bug RATLC00607193 Description %severity Sv3 %bug_desc_begin Fixes a problem with ClearCase on Linux systems. Processes are now able to create and delete unix domain sockets outside a VOB while in a view context, and clients/servers can communicate whether or not they are both in the same or any view context. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I do not know what else to tell you about the clearcase views or the MVFS filesystem. I only use clearcase -- I'm not familiar with its internals. If you have specific questions, I may be able to track down answers for you. For what it's worth, one bit of info I can tell you is the mvfs filesystem is implemented with a kernel module (mvfs and vnode). One of these (mvfs, or vnode) is built during the installation of clearcase. I had a look at the rational web-site and found nothing for ClearCase. I've attached an strace log when attempting to start open office in a clearcase view. At the end of the file, it is just repeating the same thing multiple times (though this same thing results in many lines of output to the strace log). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
