Unfortunately when I use the corner of the picture to resize it, X-Y resizes are not proportional. I think it should be set by default. If a user wants not to keep dimensions proportionnal he could have to deselect the proportionnal by default... Moreover you could add a shortkey with a mask key (shit or ctrl). When moving corner without the mask key, resize action is proportional on X and Y. When moving corner with the mask key holded, resize action is NOT proportional on X and Y. I really think that LaTeX syntax is much easier than OOo Math syntax. [sw-issues] [Issue 58186] New - Invisible elasticity character (coil spring)
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=58186 Issue #:|58186 Summary:|Invisible elasticity character (coil spring) Component:|Word processor Version:|OOo 2.0 Platform:|All URL:| OS/Version:|All Status:|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard:| Keywords:| Resolution:| Issue type:|ENHANCEMENT Priority:|P3 Subcomponent:|formatting Assigned to:|mru Reported by:|scls19fr --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Nov 20 00:31:13 -0800 2005 --- Hello, I write you because I'm a LaTeX user. Sometimes I use OpenOffice. Unfortunately something very usefull is missing. Let's imagine you want to center verticaly a text in a page. A good idea could be to have an invisible vertical elasticity character. You write your text. You go before the text and add an invisible vertical elasticity character. You go after the text and add an invisible vertical elasticity character. Such a character is a sort of coil spring. It will avoid inserting many end of line character. Moreover it will be possible to definite the strength of the coil spring. So if you want a vertically center text you definite before and after the text the same strength for the coil spring. If you want to center at the first third of a page you can insert - a coil spring of strengh 1 before the text. - a coil spring of strengh 2 after the text. We could also imagine horizontal coil spring. Such an idea come for the LaTeX commands \vspace*{\stretch{x}} \hspace*{\stretch{y}} where x / y is the strengh of the coil spring.
