Hello,

I'm using OOo Calc to make a csv file.
In fact I have to paste the resulting text of a csv file in a textbox in a web
application.
I start OOo calc make a very minimal file
(2 lines 2 columns)
I save it as csv file (separator is ;)
I select my data (in OOo Calc) copy them in the clipboard.
If I paste them in Firefox, data is not like in the csv file
I could be very usefull
It could avoid me to open the csv file with a text editor, select it,
copy it...

Best regards

If you decide to close it, you should first change the summary content
from How about adding LaTeX support !!!
to How about adding a LaTeX export filter !!!

because what is done is only about LaTeX export...

Importing LaTeX files is still not possible

Using the LaTeX commands for equations (in OpenOffice Math) is still not
possible

Moreover the problem of good looking equation is still not solved.

Using PSTricks files is still not possible too

Hello,

when I'm inserting a picture in a text with OOo Writer I sometimes need to
resize it.

Unfortunately when I use the corner of the picture to resize it, X-Y resizes are
not proportional.

I think it should be set by default.

If a user wants not to keep dimensions proportionnal he could have to deselect
the proportionnal by default...

Moreover you could add a shortkey with a mask key (shit or ctrl).

When moving corner without the mask key, resize action is proportional on X and
Y.

When moving corner with the mask key holded, resize action is NOT proportional
on X and Y.

It should be inverted because with MS Word resize by default (without shift) is
proportionnal.

When shift is holded resize should be NOT proportional.

Moreover when proportional option is clicked (in the Image window, tab Type).
Resizing with the mouse should be proportional (it is only proportional when
changing the value for the size)

I think you should have a look at this too
http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=58187

It's about a PSTricks support in OpenOffice.org

As PSTricks is very near from the LaTeX world I think it is important to talk
about it here.

In fact, I think this feature could be add to an other feature.

I really think that LaTeX syntax is much easier than OOo Math syntax.

So a good idea could be to have the opportunity of inserting natively LaTeX
equations in OOo Math

Hello,

I write you because I'm a LaTeX user. Sometimes I use OpenOffice. Unfortunately
something very usefull is missing.

Let's imagine you want to center verticaly a text in a page.
A good idea could be to have an invisible vertical elasticity character.

You write your text.
You go before the text and add an invisible vertical elasticity character.
You go after the text and add an invisible vertical elasticity character.
Such a character is a sort of coil spring.

It will avoid inserting many end of line character.

Moreover it will be possible to definite the strength of the coil spring.
So if you want a vertically center text you definite before and after the text
the same strength for the coil spring.

If you want to center at the first third of a page you can insert
- a coil spring of strengh 1 before the text.
- a coil spring of strengh 2 after the text.

We could also imagine horizontal coil spring.

Such an idea come for the LaTeX commands
\vspace*{\stretch{x}}
\hspace*{\stretch{y}}

where x / y is the strengh of the coil spring.

Regards

PS : sorry for my poor english level (my mother tongue is french ;-) )

Hello,

I would like to know if this feature will allow to directly write LaTeX
equations in OpenOffice Math (instead of the OOo specific language).

Because the OpenOffice Math language is not very easy to understand for people
using LaTeX and there is a problem with i18n.

See my problem with greek capital letters in a french environment

Hello,

I'm a LaTeX user. Sometimes I use OpenOffice and something is missing :

support for PSTricks picture (pspicture)

http://tug.org/PSTricks/main.cgi/
http://tug.org/PSTricks/main.cgi?file=examples

You should also have a look at PDFTricks
http://sarovar.org/projects/pdftricks/

and at PGF (Beamer)

If OpenOffice can import PSTricks picture, it will allow OpenOffice to insert
many of the very usefull scientific applications such as

pst-oscillo http://tug.org/PSTricks/main.cgi?file=Examples/Oscilloscope/oszi
pst-optic http://tug.org/PSTricks/main.cgi?file=Examples/optic

and other applications

Yes that's difficult for an XY plot with more than one serie

X Y Z
0 1 1.5
1 2 2.5
2 3 3.5

When XY-plotting Y=f1(X) and Z=f2(X) the title should be

x-title : X
y-title : Y ; Z

user can change it if he doesn't like it but it is IMHO better than Title of
axis Y

I want to add that what is needed is :

dpkg (off-line package installation/uninstallation)
   dpkg -i mypackage.deb for installation
   dpkg-reconfigure for configure a package

apt
apt-get install mypackage (for on-line installation)

synaptic or any self made GUI

some developers libs are needed such as
libdb2-dev : database from Berkeley
libbz2-dev : bz2 compression
maybe other libs are needed but I don't know... because they are probably ever
installed on my Debian OS.

I really think that using an existing idea is a good solution as it works on
Debian for years...

Packages are a good way to update operating system...
