I tried to run this version -(2.1) on my mandriva 2006 box with a Matrox 400
card connected to two monitors and it does not work ok. But it could be
something related to the Mandriva libraries - (see related previous bug report :
63925 http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=63925 ) which is a pity.
I guess I will have to wait for Mandriva to come out with the newer version or
try to compile from source and see if that works for me...

I have just tested OOo 2.0.2.9 on a live CD (alpha - Mandriva 2007) - from
ftp://ftp.ciril.fr/pub/linux/mandrakelinux/devel/iso/2007.0/i586/mandriva-one-gnome-2007-frige.i586.iso

and this version works fine with Xinerama enabled - it boots with Xinerama
disabled and X (version 7.1) needs to be restarted with it enabled in xorg.conf

The interesting part is that if I copy the /usr/lib/ooo-2.0 directory from this
live cd to my system (Mandriva 2006, Xorg 6.9) the program works ok - I had to
copy over /opt/openoffice.org2.0/program/libportaudio.so* to the ooo-2.0/program
directory. On the live cd libportaudio.* are in /usr/lib

I also tested whether the genuine OOo 2.0.2 worked with the live cd but there
it showed the same bugs. I presume it is related to the way Xinerama and OOo
interoperate...

I am changing the status for this issue to FIXED - upgrade to version provided
by Mandriva...

The only difference between the two xorg.conf files was in the keyboard layout
(apart from resolution differences in the monitors). Changing this does not
make any difference.

I also tried OOo 2.0.3 and the issue persists with this version as well. I am
trying to upgrade X.org to 7.1 but will be a while before I can try this out
again.

One workaround I have just found is to run a vncserver session on the dual head
display and then run soffice in the resulting vncviewer screen (Xinerama, RENDER
etc are not seen in the xdpyinfo output).

However in presentation mode it shows the top title bar of the vncviewer screen.
Putting the vncviewer in full screen mode does not solve it since in such case
the window straddles both monitors.

On the otherhand OO.o 2.0.2 is usable without having to restart the display in
single monitor mode... I don't use this system for final presentation so it's
fine apart from a bit of a reduction in speed.

I don't know if I should be filing a separate bug report for this issue:

OO 2.0.2 hangs when I try to work in dual monitor mode (Matrox G450 dual head
card) with Mandriva 2006. It works fine in single monitor mode on the same
system. I am able to set options to enable or disable 3D OpenGL support in OO
but opening any document/presentation etc causes a 'hang'... Same with
importing/creating any document/presentation. Version 1.1.5 shipped with
Mandriva 2006 worked relatively ok in dual head mode.

I am finding that in dual head mode (Matrox G450 with Mandriva 2006) OOo 2.0.2
crashes the moment I try to open existing or create new documents/presentations.
Without opening any documents/presentations I am able to change options etc but
they (for example font antialiasing, 3D settings) don't make any difference to
the behaviour. I also tried with X RENDER extension enabled and disabled. I
use Xinerama to place the two monitors side-by-side.

OOo 2.0.2 works fine in single screen mode on the same system.

Please let me know if you need any other inputs (xorg.conf etc).

Thanks for the rapid responses. I have attached my xorg.conf file. The Xorg
version is 6.9-1.cvs20050915 as shipped by Mandriva on 2006 DVD. The rpm
for xorg-x11 can be found on
http://rpmfind.net//linux/RPM/mandriva/2006.0/i586/media/main/xorg-x11-6.9-1.cvs20050915.2mdk.i586.html

BTW, I think the bug is related to Xinerama. When I disable Xinerama I am able
to use OOo but of course it is not one large screen but two independent displays
(DISPLAYs 0.0 and 0.1) in that case.

Sorry for overrating the priority - my first time with filing bugs..

The version shipped with Mandriva 2006 is 1.1.5 and that worked reasonably ok.
This version 2.0.2 is the official one downloaded from one of the OO.org
mirrors. Thanks
