Indeed the hang no longer exists on 3.0 beta2, specifically BEB300m2 build 9328,
installed on Ubuntu 8.04 this time. Looks like it's fixed. Thank you.

Looks good, though now that I see the text again I would remove the final
Openoffice.org in that sentence as redundant.

A recommended version would be:
Help us prove that Openoffice.org has already gained significant marketshare by
registering!

Also the "is" in the next sentence is redundant. The more natural way to say it 
is:
Registration is voluntary and without obligation.

2008 ---
After first installing the debs on Ubuntu 7.10, I ran the launcher and proceeded
through the registration wizard. The soffice launcher hangs just after clicking
finish on the registration if you leave the "register now" radio button selected
but don't include a name and other info. I didn't try all the other options.

Pretty simple and minor, but the installer registration wizard has a grammar
error. I didn't copy down the exact text, but it says something to the effect of
"help prove Openoffice.org has already significant marketshare". It should say
"already has" or "has already gained".
