In fact when converting an image in GIMP from PNG to JPEG with a quality of 90% it has a really good quality. The same image in openoffice looks really bad (even if exported with lossless) 2) The difference (between JPEG 90% and lossless) of an 11 pages document of text and 6 small images is 8KB. The default settings does not save enough space (except if you save to a floppy disk, of course) to justify this quality loss. There must be something wrong with the algorithm used in the export, so I'll reopen waiting for your feedback. For an unknown reason openoffice decided that by default it is not preserved, and to preserve it you have to keep shift (if I'm not wrong) pressed. This thing is present in the ooo guide, but it is not enough. you can't ask every user who want to do a basic operation to read the guide. I have some proposals: - by default preserve aspect ratio, like in other word processors - by default show a tooltip when resizing: hold shitf to preserve aspect ratio Also there's not a intuitive way to crop the image while resizing: - add another shorcut to crop the image (for instance crtl) and add a tooltip for this too - add a button which is enabled over the image after selecting it, which changes the green points to red, so that when dragging them the image is cropped instead of resized - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. This is very annoying since it position itself where it wants and covers part of the document. I propose to automatically dock those toolbars to the bottom. In this way the screen will seem more organized and won't cover random parts of the text - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. What happens currently is that the first line immediately after the added line is not updated, but the following ones are. see the attached example.
