reproduced on 3.2dev build 9392

Screenshot to be attached:
In this screenshot the text is vertical, right to left. The first page begins
"START HERE PAGE 1 ABCD...". It is shown on the left side of the screen. the
second page is on the right. This is rather unnatural: you read from the right
edge of the paper so the first page should be on the right of the screen.

When importing (x)html files which contain elements, these should be
converted to "asian phonetic guide". At the moment the ruby tags are ignored,
and the textual content of the ruby elements are displayed un-formatted.

MS-Word correctly imports ruby elements.

See also bug 29009 (http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=29009)
which deals with ruby export.

1. Create a document with right to left (vertical) text (Format->page , Page
tab, text direction)

2. Enter sufficient text to cover several pages.

3. View Page preview.

4. Page Preview: multiple pages -> Preview 2x1 (to show two pages per screen)

Expect: as this is a right to left document, the first page should be on the
right of the screen and the second on the left. Or with book preview set, even
numbered pages should be on the right of the screen, and odd numbers on the
left.

Actual result: The pages are laid out as they should be for left-to-right text.
with the first page on the left of the screen.

Impact: Inconvenience for Chinese and Japanese users.

Separate Western and Asian fonts can be selected when Asian Languages are
enabled.
The font name dialog in the formatting toolbar shows the Western font when an
English keyboard is selected from Windows (with the language tool in the windows
taskbar) And the Asian font when I choose a Japanese keyboard. This is correct
behaviour

However When the IME is set to "Direct input" or "Half width alphanumeric" text
will be rendered with the Western font, but the Japanese font name is show in
the font name dialog. This behaviour is incorrect.

The font name dialog should show the Asian font name only when an IME is
enabled, and set to an Asian input mode (eg hiragana input or half width
katakana). When the IME is in direct input mode, then the Western font should be
displayed.

Tested on Windows XP Home (Japanese edition) probably affects other OSes, and
other CJK input method editors. Marked as "Enhancement" because I don't know if
this has ever worked before.

Writer has support for Asian phonetic guide text (ruby or furigana) but Calc
cannot edit or display it. Marking as a defect because this breaks import from
Excel and is a potential dataloss - an xls file with ruby will have the ruby
stripped if it is opened re-saved in Calc.
