Please note that this remains an issue with the most current Report Builder
release. Although you can assign keep ratio in the image control 'properties'
dialog, it does not 'stick' once the report design is saved. That is, if you
open the report, the scale type has reverted to fit to size.

chrysten, please try again with the 3.2 release of OOo which is expected within
the next 10 days, and the corresponding SRB 1.2 release, they should not expose
this problem. At least I was unable to reproduce it with the most recent builds
towards those releases.
If you can still reproduce the problem, please submit a dedicated issue. Thanks.

The Keep Ratio option can also be set in image control within a dialog, but it
does
not work properly. See Issue 98734.

Currently, when you bind an image control to a (binary) database column in a
database form, the you can set the Scale property of the control to
1. Yes, this way scaling each and every image to the control size
2. No, this way displaying (a portion of) each and every image centered in
   the control

Both have their disadvantages.
(1) means that the aspect ratio is almost never maintained, this way distorting
most of the images.
(2) means that most images are displayed wrongly: either only a part of the
image is displayed (if the image is lager than the control), or the complete
image is displayed, but not in the size it could be (if the image is actually
smaller than the control).

Those advantages could be overcome by introducing some possibility to keep the
aspect ration of scaled images.
