And your problem sounds like a bug in xfs rather than OpenOffice.org :-( It is likely related to one of the fonts, you could try uninstalling the fonts and adding them back in until you find the one that causes the problem. Perhaps http://www.fedoralegacy.org/ can help you, they provide some legacy support for RedHat 9, mostly security errata, but you might be able to find some updates which fix the problem. I'll have to call this invalid from OOO's perspective as it's a xfs issue. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=66796 Issue #|66796 Summary|X font server dies when scrolling through the font lis |t Component|framework Version|OOo 2.0 Platform|PC URL| OS/Version|Linux Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|ui Assigned to|tm Reported by|moostende --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Jun 27 10:26:34 -0700 2006 --- Ever since OOo 2.0.0, the following happens: - I start OOo writer; - I click on the font list to expand it; - I scroll down the list. OOo tries to list the font using that same font; - When certain fonts appear at the bottom, scrolling down stops and the PC freezes; - After about ten seconds, the frozen state is over and the listbox gets back in the one-line state. When I reopen it, all TrueType fonts are now the same. The OOo fonts are still ok. It appears the xfs (the X font server, handling TrueType fonts) has died. Restarting the service seems to work, however after a restart of OOo TTF's are not available anymore until the PC is completely rebooted. This problem didn't happen on the 1.x versions. I recently upgraded from 2.0 to 2.0.2 and the problem is still the same. I use RedHat9, using only RPMs with a consistent dependancy tree. More info: Linux version 2.4.20-8 ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 3.2.2 20030222 (Red Hat Linux 3.2.2-5)) #1 Thu Mar 13 17:54:28 EST 2003, using XFree86-xfs-4.3.0-2.i386.rpm PLs let me know if you need more info or specs. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
