To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=95905 Issue #|95905 Summary|openoffice seems doesn't recognize de_DE.utf8 characte |r-set Component|framework Version|OOo 3.0 Platform|Unknown URL| OS/Version|All Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|ui Assigned to|tm Reported by|zhangweiwu --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Nov 6 07:24:30 + 2008 --- My Gentoo Linux built openoffice (built without gtk nor qt) could not correctly display Chinese file names (display these names as junk text). It seems to because ooo doesn't understand my locale de_DE.utf8. The same (doesn't work) for de_DE.UTF-8. If openoffice start in en_US.UTF-8 the Chinese filenames are displayed correctly in File Open Window. I guess de_DE.utf8 is not in the list of recognized locales for OOO (when built without gtk/qt). So 1) what is the locale in German language acceptable for OOO built without gtk/qt or is it generally recommended to either build with gt or with gtk? 2) if it can be identified as a bug will this locale be added to OOO in the future? Thanks and I am sure I filed duplicated bug (only I don't know how to find the original bug) so sorry if it again took your QA staff time to mark this duplicate.
