I don't see empty frames but on mysystem the sqr root signs looks very strange. I can also reproduce the behaviour that it looks ok after changing into the edit view but that the size get smaller. But the behaviour is the same when I create the ppt under 2.0.3 on Windows and view under powerpoint *on the same Windows system (machine)*. I now have more info -- interestingly enough when you "open" the math equation (that was created in OO and saved as ppt) in PowerPoint, the font symbols get magically fixed, even if you don't do anything else other than close it again.
