I've updated the platform and OS now, and ticking the reopen item (I trust that is the right thing to do in the case that I have narrowed the bug in that regard). I loaded the presentation linked from this case just now and seriously it took about 40 seconds before the application responded to the clicks on the text in slide 6 I had done, during which there was high CPU utilisation. Then I went to slides 7 and 8 and did the same thing and the times weren't as high as 40 seconds but they were still bad. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. It doesn't matter if I select the text with 3 clicks or with ctrl+a before deleting it I don't get 100% cpu usage and I get no delay before I can continue working. Please tell me which operating system do you use. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. For example, try this: 1. download http://www.aaa.net.au/campbell/BeautifulPhotos.odp 2. open it in Impress and you can see that each slide has a picture with a text box over the top - the text isn't part of the photos 3. go down to slide 6 4. starting with slide 6, try clicking three times on the text and then highlighting all the text with CTRL-A, then pressing delete 5. for some of the slides, the performance is really bad...I've had it sitting there burning 100% CPU for about 30 seconds after clicking the text before it shows that you can edit it Actual Result: I find that for some of the screens at least, the performance is rather dreadful, and you end up having to wait for quite a long time. I also find that having completely chopped the text out as described, if I save the file, close it, and then reload it from the saved file, the text appears back again even though I had deleted it. I will open that in another case. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
