This causes the .aff file not to be used and therefore many of the compressed words to be ignored. This explains why seemingly obvious words are missing. I'm not sure if this spell checker is bundled with the OOo install or if it was installed externally. Two quick options to fix: 1) Easiest: alter .aff REP section to have the correct line count. 2) Update en-ZA to this version http://download.translate.org.za/spellchecker/myspell-pack-en-ZA-1.20090227.zip We're quite keen to track down these problems as they seem to be fixed then reverted in for instance Ubuntu. The sooner we can get all broken version out of the wild the better. When applying "English (South Africa)" as language there are many words which are recognized as misspelled. You can easily test this with our "Dummy text". There are words like "steps" or "waiting" which are marked misspelled. It looks that the spellcheck is not able to handle plurals (see issue 95189), no conjugated verbs (waiting, enabled, prayed) and no adverbs (heavily, suddenly). Also it looks that combined nouns are not recognized (warehouse, sidewalk). This all works correctly with "English (USA)". MRU->SBA/TL: please consider a target and appropriate owner for this, as long as I am not this firm with lingu issues.
