I could then load them and save them as .ods files. The file i uploaded earlier was copied from one network drive to another network drive, and it could then be loaded without hanging. Other files i loaded directly from the original network drive without any problems. The problematic files had one thing in common: they all had links to other files and i was prompted if i wanted to update the links or not. When i uploaded the file, then i could open it alright. Just copying it to a different network drive allowed me to open it. Most of these load fine with Calc, but some of them hang at the "adapt row height" stage. My PC has 4-GB of RAM, Core i5 750 (quad core) CPU, running 64-bit Windows 7. If i start Task Manager, one core uses lots of CPU and free RAM just dwindles to almost zero, until the program terminates abnormally. This takes several minutes. These spreadsheets are not very big, say 300 KB.
