@tommyads:
Format of existing content will remain until contents will have been modified,
pls. see Issue 96274
You can solve your problem by 'copy / paste as unformatted text' after you
modified format.

Thanks! Making the format visible is a great function, I like it, did not know
this before.
But now I have the following problem:
reformatting the cells (after marking the whole column C or some of the filled
cells) and then trying to reformat those cells to "number" or to "text" does not
work!
The cells remain in their format, ignoring the reformatting.
What is wrong here?
Thanks!

Reproducible with "Ooo 3.1.1 WIN XP DE-multilingual version German UI activated
[OOO310m19 (Build 9420)]", but INVALID

Please open sample document and check Menu 'View -> Value Highlighting'! Now in
cell range 'C2:C47' you will see several highlighted numbers and several not
highlighted texts ("27", "28", "26"), and you can see that the highlighted
numbers can be inserted manually into 'C62' (because that cell has formatting
'number'), but you cant insert number "26", because in the validity definition
cell range there only is a text "26". but no number "26".

If you modify formatting of cell 'C63', you will see that there only texts can
be inserted manually, all numbers will be blocked for manual insert.

I agree, that's a little

Hi,
see attached the calc file.
In cell C62 (and also the other cells below) there is a
data-validity-check/constraint given (see Daten-Gültigkeit-Kriterien...), using
the cell-range $C$2:$C$47 as the range for the valid values.
This range contains the value 27, but entering this value in cell C62 yields an
"invalid value"-error.
Thanks,
kr
tommyads.
