I am basically certain that it is revolving around the navigation with the arrow keys. I think the problem is that by navigating with the arrow keys from one section or cell to another that there is a memory overload as it cycles through displaying/identifying all the changes in style, etc. By comparison navigating with the arrow is easy. It is slow, and goes from one style to another. The arrow keys are fast and prompt the application to cycle through multile text stylings within a single second... possibly causing a buffer overflow. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Crash Day. Sigh. At this stage I can't tell if it the Ctrl+V or the arrow key navigation that crashes the app. But I can frequently tell when it is about to happen because a Ctrl +C will take 8 seconds to copy a string of a few characters. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Still testing on RC4 (which I understand is the same as final release 3.0). Again today, Ctrl+C on a single cell with 2 lines of text. Move 3 columns left. Ctrl +V into a cell with existing content ... ... ... MS says the Application is running. No errors. But the screen won't redraw. Can't switch to another OOo Window. OOo is just frozen. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. RC4 is still exhibiting problems: 1. Opened my calc file. 2. Went off and did other things in other programs 3. Came back to my calc file made some minor changes 4. Selected 4 cells filled with text in default format 5. Ctrl +C moved left one row Ctrl +V application hangs. One cell of the 4 destination cells contained content. No error, no message, just nothing happening. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. After application restart cut is once again alacritous within the cell, and the whole application is running great. F2 to enter a cell, select a portion of the contents (with shift and arrow keys - content is all text but in default format, e.g. number) then Ctrl +X... ... ... ... waiting 7 seconds for the cut to happen. Way too long. 2. F2 to enter a cell. Using shift and arrow keys select a portion of the text and type a replacement. Hit Enter to keep changes. Type arrow keys to navigate to a new location... but system does not navigate, application is frozen. - Not reproducible. clearly something is happenning here. I don't know if it is in memory management or where, but this frequent application freezing during standard cut, copy, paste and keyboard navigation needs to be looked into. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I fully expect this bug to be deleted when final release comes out. So... Continuing with the same file. Working in ods. All actions that follow take place on the keyboard (if I have to touch a mouse I am not a happy camper). Today I copied a cell containing 1 short paragraph of text (though probably still formatted as a number per calc default). Moved up 3 sheets in the file and accidentally copied the contents of the destination cell. @#$%^* Navigated back down 3 sheets to the original cell, Ctrl +C and application froze. After killing and restarting the application unable to duplicate. None- the-less I am reporting. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I've just started testing and so far no hang of the application, but EVERY SINGLE TIME that I hit Ctrl +V it takes 6-7 seconds before the system responds. 6-7 seconds is an eternity... F2 to enter cell, select a portion of the contents Ctrl +X and I find myself waiting 8 seconds for the Cut action to process. UGH! Next I paste one cell over another cell (text only) and now the application has hung again. Another mornings work lost.
